When did jkj say he doesn't want to return, and why? Phloe is my first choice, but I loved the chemistry with phinie as well.I wouldn't mind seeing them get a second chance, if chloe is unavailable. I'm surprised jpl hasn't returned as philip yet given how ron likes to work with oltl actors if given the chance.

I really wish they could convince JKJ to come back and that he'd actually care after the initial excitement wore off -- I could always tell when he got bored or disdainful of the show. From everything I hear, he is not coming back anytime soon. I didn't hate JPL, either, but I'd totally take another recast. I keep thinking Jacob Young (formerly Rick on B&B) would fit so well in this role. Really, when could you tell when he got bored/disdainful of the show? I never really noticed,as he was always professional and a good actor in what he was given to play imo and I've always wanted to know what is jkj problem with days but can't seem to get an answer. |

If he has such a problem with DAYS then why bring him back? May as well recast the role of Philip again or bring back John Paul Lavoisier in the role

I hated jpl as Philip
I admit I don’t always like recasts but he was my least favorite for Philip
Ron has ruined so many key characters at this stage I’m not sure I’d be that interested in a Philip return out of fear of hack writing

I hated jpl as Philip I admit I don’t always like recasts but he was my least favorite for Philip Ron has ruined so many key characters at this stage I’m not sure I’d be that interested in a Philip return out of fear of hack writing I disagree, I think there are many talented/handsome actors out there who could use a steady gig, philip is a popular character who has fans and who wishes they could see him soon, ron just has to get the character and he will be written correctly, but sadly who knows if tbpt is interested in bringing him back at this point because their is nothing heard about this at all. |

I felt it was always noticeable when he was enthused/engaged and when he would sort of talk in a monotone and then bark a few lines. He's a great actor, and it wasn't nearly as jarring as when Billy Flynn started doing all the stuttering, but he LOOKED bored to me onscreen. He also had pretty great chemistry with a lot of people, so that helped. But to me -- maybe because he could be really, really good -- he had a tendency to go flat that often coincided with when his stories were... not great. I don't think he has a problem with Days itself. I think he dislikes the pace at which they shoot and the assembly-line nature of daytime (especially current daytime), as opposed to having lots of rehearsal time and getting to do multiple takes. But he also has barely acted since leaving Days the last time, so maybe his heart just isn't in acting and/or having a public life. I think it's very telling that he doesn't use social media to engage with the show, doesn't participate in fan events (which lots of alums do), didn't attend the 50th anniversary party, etc. |

That’s your opinion no offense but I thought he acted like the village idiot And Ron has literally destroyed every character he’s touched You don’t have to agree that’s my opinion Days is barely watchable these days I’d hate for him to ruin a good character just cuz..... |

I have to believe that they keep mentioning Philip for a reason. When Victor asked if Kate knew if he was seeing someone, it made me wonder if Philip might return with a love interest. I liked Philip with Stephanie. I even liked Philip with Melanie. I'd love to see JKJ return for a Titan showdown and a romance.

Again JKJ even said himself that he was not going to return and honestly the chances of him returning at this point are a pipe dream. Personally, if they recast the role of Philip again my choices for a great recast definitely would be:
Jacob Young
John Driscoll
Jeff Branson

The way Victor was saying "before it's too late" had me hoping that JKJ might have agreed to a short return. I would love that.
I also would be fine with JPL coming back if the show is looking for a full-timer. He was rough getting used to but by the time they wrote him out I was liking him a lot.
