Chapter 3a
Philip knocked on the door to Apartment 2465.
”That’s him—the man in the blue overcoat. Mr. Kiriakis! Stop!”
Philip turned around to see two men in white medical jackets rushing toward him. The jackets had a Bellevue Hospital emblem. Each man grabbed an arm. “You’re coming with us.”
“What? Why?”
“Because you’re certifiably insane,” the man holding Philip’s left arm said. “You keep doing the same thing and expecting a different result.”
“What are you talking about?” he asked, confused.
“Chloe Lane,” the other man said. “She’s broken your heart in a million pieces a million different times, and yet here you are anyway, thinking you’re going to be her knight in shining armor.”
“It’s a pity,” the first man remarked. “He looks quite normal.”
“Looks aren’t everything,” the second man replied.
Philip shook himself. He’d had the same wide-awake nightmare at least a dozen times between Florida and New York. Even as he was boarding the United Airlines flight, he kept repeating to himself, “Turn back. It’s not worth it. It’s not worth it.” Yet here he stood outside the door to her parents’ Park Avenue West condo, his heart beating fast with anticipation like it did when he was teenager standing outside the door on her parents porch, about to ring the doorbell to pick her up for a date.
He was seconds away from being face-to-face with Chloe and that voice in his head shouted again, Turn back before it’s too late.
The door to the apartment opened.

I can’t blame Philip for wanting to turn back. Hopefully this won’t go as poorly as he thinks it will.

I wonder what made Philip change his mind. Hopefully this goes well.

Oh Phillip. I so wished you would have listened to that voice in your head.

I like the comparison of being at the Wesley's door to the feeling of ringing the doorbell on Chloe's front porch in high school. I can picture Philip's nightmare. Will there be previews Kpatch?

Thanks everyone for reading and commenting and being as enthusiastic as ever!
Here's a teaste (taste + tease ) of what to expect next week...
- Philip gets a warm greeting, but not from Chloe.
- Just where is Chloe?
- We’ll finally catch up with a very sad, very conflicted Chloe in an old familiar setting.
How’s that for mysterious?

I am very curious about who Philip sees and where Chloe is. At Nancy and Craig's maybe?

Chapter 3b
The door to the apartment opened.
“Philip! What are you—.” Nancy stopped herself from being snarky. “I mean, what a nice surprise. Won’t you come in?” Philip entered the condo apartment. “Chloe isn’t here,” she blurted out before he even had a chance to ask.
“Is she coming back?” He sounded more anxious than he intended.
“Oh um yes, within the hour for certain.” Her brow knit. “Probably. She’s um … she’s having dinner with friends.”
Craig rose from his easy chair and shook hands with Philip. “Nice to see you. What brings you to our neck of the woods?”
Philip scratched his temple. “I had business in the city, so I thought I’d come by and say hello to Chloe. She doing okay?”
From another room, Parker came running toward Philip wearing footed Star Wars pajamas. “Philip!”
Philip lifted the boy in his arms. “Hey big guy. You remember me!” Parker hugged his neck and a warmth washed over him. He rarely allowed himself to think about how much he missed Parker and how it had nearly killed him when he found out he wasn’t the boy’s biological father.
“‘Course I do,” Parker said, “but I never saw you in New Yawk before. Do you live here now?”
“No, I’m just visiting, but there’s no one I’m happier to see than you.” Philip gave him a squeeze.
“Did you ever see the baby?” Parker asked.
Philip looked at Nancy. “Um. No, but I’d love to.”
“Come on, I’ll show you the nursery.” Parker wriggled out of Philip’s arms until his feet touched the floor. “It’s not really a nursery but that’s what they always call the room she sleeps in.” He grasped Philip’s hand.

Glad Philip gets to see Parker. Good to see Nancy and Craig haven’t changed.

I was right! It was Nancy Philip saw in the apartment instead of Chloe.
Parker is so cute. I'm glad he remembers and wants to spend time with Philip.

Parker's reaction was sweet. I'm glad that Craig and Nancy are okay with Philip visiting.
