Great start!! Can't wait to see what Philip's reaction is going to be to Chloe's choices. Was thinking the same thing! I hope they take this slowly as well as he should. Chloe still needs to establish herself & show she can take care of herself before she starts taking care of Parker or getting involved in any relationship. She needs to show independence! |

Great start jkjpatch!!! I love it that Phillip his holding on to his reservations about Chloe and her abilities. If he just welcomed her with open arms like nothing ever happened, I think I would have had to jump on a plane  |

PHILIP’S CONDO
Philip opens the door and looks out into hallway, but he doesn’t see Chloe. He steps out into the corridor and looks right, then left, but no Chloe. The only other person in sight is a woman leaning against the wall 20 feet away. The woman is wearing a bulky black sweater and her hair is pulled loosely into a pony. She’s looking down at her feet through dark-rimmed eyeglass frames which are resting on her ashen face. Philip turns to go back into his apartment smiling to himself and thinking that the woman looks like ghoul girl. He stops in his tracks and his heart sinks to his stomach. He turns back around and looks at the woman again. She looks up without smiling or looking directly at him.
Philip: Chloe?
He struggles to maintain his composure as he is now beginning to understand Brady’s warning about not looking shocked at Chloe’s appearance. Philip works to put on a smile.
Philip: Hi. I almost didn’t ... Um.
Philip walks over to unglue Chloe from the position she’s fixed in, but she takes a step back, clearly not wanting to be touched.
Philip: It’s okay sweetie. Hey, why don’t you come on inside. There’s a little boy who would love to see you.
Chloe silently follows Philip into the apartment. Brady walks over holding Parker and Chloe’s stoic expression melts into a tear-filled smile as she takes Parker from Brady’s arms.
Chloe: Hi my sweet angel.
She closes her eyes and savors the moment, and drinks in the smell and the feel of her baby boy.
Brady: I knew this would be the best medicine in the world for you.
Philip pulls Brady aside and whispers to him.
Philip: What the hell happened to her?
Brady: Like I said, she’ll tell you when she’s ready.
Brady walks over and puts his hand on Chloe’s shoulder.
Brady: Chloe, I’m gonna leave now. Philip and Parker will take good care of you, okay? You call me if you need anything.
Chloe nods without taking her eyes off of Parker. Brady turns to Philip.
Philip: What am I supposed to do now?
Brady: What you should have done months ago. Take care of her.
Brady leaves and an awkward silence fills the room.
Philip: So ... what’s new?

Love the reunion of Chloe and Parker. So great that Brady just leaves Chloe with Philip and tells him to do what he should have done months ago. Thanks for the chapter Kpatch. This is one super story.

Great chapter,and I love the Ghoul Girl reference.It really gives us a clear picture of the way Chloe looks and her state of mind.

What a punch in the gut. Wow. "Seeing" Chloe in the hall like that just breaks my heart.
And, I gotta say, based on how Brady is acting, I could get on board with Broe.

Terrific chapter Kpatch. The ghoul girl reference gives a very clear idea of how Chloe looks. It's not surprising that after everything she went through she'd revert back to her ghoul girl days. I am really eager to read more of this story.
