PreviewWho wanted to be a fly on the wall when Chloe arrived in Chicago and came face-to-face with Philip and Parker? I know I did. That’s why I wrote this story. I wrote it before Chloe actually left Days, so her trip to Chicago is a bit different in my story than it was on air. This story will reveal how Philip learns that Chloe worked as a prostitute and how he reacts to Chloe’s fall from grace. Can these two long-time friends and former lovers work through their problems? And how will the revelation affect Chloe’s quest for shared custody of Parker? Find out starting Monday when After the Fall begins. And because this story turned into a longer journey than just the short story arc I had originally planned, I will post a chapter every single day including weekends. But only if you promise you’ll read it on weekends too.

CHICAGO, PHILIP & PARKER’S CONDO APARTMENT
Philip and Parker are sitting on the sofa when the doorbell rings. Philip puts Parker in his playpen and he goes to answer the door.
Philip: Brady! Philip puts his arms around his nephew. Philip: Come on in. Wow, it’s great to see someone from back home. What are you doing here? Brady sees Parker and picks him up. Brady: I can’t believe how big he got since I last saw him. Suddenly a fear grips Philip. Philip: What’s going on? Is it Dad? Is he sick? Brady: No. No, nothing like that. Relax. Philip exhales. Philip: Then what brings you to Chicago? Brady: Can we sit? Philip: Must be something serious. The two men sit down while Brady holds Parker on his lap. Brady: It is. It’s about this little guy’s mom. Philip: Brady, that subject isn’t up for discussion. Brady: Well I’m opening it up. It’s time, Philip. Philip: For what? Brady: You need to give her unlimited access to Parker. Philip: It’s not up to me. It’s up to the courts. Brady: The hell it is! Philip: Hey, she’s the one who needs to prove herself, not me. Brady: Listen to me, Philip, and listen good. Chloe’s life has been circling the drain ever since you and Parker left Salem. Philip: What are you talking about? What happened? Brady: Without going into details, she needs her son. She needs to be here with him. Philip: Brady, I don’t trust her to raise Parker ... Brady: Will you shut up and listen? I’m not saying that you should just hand him over to her and let her take care of the kid by herself. All I’m asking ... all I’m saying is that, if you ever cared about her, you’ll let her see Parker. Philip sits quietly for a few moments, contemplating Brady’s words. Philip: Okay. Okay. I’ll give her a call and tell her she can come visit. Brady: She’s here. Philip: Say what? Brady: She’s right outside the door. Now you need to take it easy on her. She’s been through a lot. You can’t push her and you can’t ask questions. Philip: You’re being awfully mysterious. Brady: And you can’t look shocked when you see the way she looks. Philip: The way she looks? What do you mean? Brady: She doesn’t look good. Things ... things happened to her. But you can’t push her to talk about it. If she wants to tell you, she’ll tell you. Is that clear? Philip: Yeah, clear as mud. Brady: Philip ... Philip: Okay, okay. Whatever. Whatever you say. Go ahead. Let her in. Brady: No, I think it would be better if you invite her in. Philip: Boy, you’re bossy. Okay. I’m going to the door to invite her in.
To be continued daily ...

Great start!See I kept my promise to read I love that you don't have Philip immediately trusting and immediately welcoming Chloe. It wouldn't be true to life if he did. They've been through alot and the friendship DID take a hit.I love that Brady's not willing to divulge anything to Philip unless it comes from Chloe herself.
