Poor Chloe.
Ugh, I hope Brady sticks around for a while in case Phil pushes too hard.

PHILIP’S CONDO
Philip: So ... what’s new? Chloe gives Philip an icy stare. Chloe: Just so you know, I’m only here for Parker. I’m not interested in any kind of relationship with you, not even friendship. Philip is taken aback. Philip: You’re mad at me. Chloe: Who said you weren’t smart? Philip: Okay. Fine. We both want the same thing. What’s best for Parker, right? Chloe: That’s all I ever wanted. Philip: Great. Good. Why don’t I give you some time alone with Parker. You guys can catch up. I’ll be in my home office. There’s a guest bedroom next to the bathroom on the left. Philip points to it. There’s plenty of towels in the closet. Make yourself at home. Philip leaves Chloe with Parker and heads for his study. He has a lot of questions going through his mind, but now is clearly not the time to ask any of them. Chloe needs to get settled, to feel comfortable. It’s obvious that something happened, something has changed, and he was definitely going to find out what.
THE NEXT MORNING
Philip answers the knock at the front door. Lucinda: Oh, you have company. Philip: Lucinda, this is Chloe ... Parker’s mother. Chloe, this is Lucinda. She’s been Parker’s nanny since we moved here last April. I’ll be in my study if you ladies need anything. Lucinda: How long are you staying, Miss Chloe? Chloe: Indefinitely. Lucinda: Oh. Well, I don’t want to overstep my bounds. You be sure to tell me what you want me to do, and what you want to do for Parker yourself. Chloe: I want to do everything for him. I missed so much time with him. You know my son better than I do. Like, what’s his favorite toy? How many words does he say? Does he say Mama often? Does he say Papa? What does he like to eat? What does he hate eating? Lucinda: Why don’t I put on a pot of coffee and I’ll tell you everything you want to know about Parker.

Wow....we aren't used to hearing Chloe talk to Philip like that. It's good that you did it though as the friendship did take a hit that the writers really didn't explore all that much. It's good you didn't have them be buddies right off.Great chapter

Poor Chloe. It would break my heart if I had to ask a nanny what my child likes.

Great chapter! Looking forward to more. Loved that Chloe talked to Philip that way and let him know exactly how she felt. I cannot wait to explore this more!

The nanny, unfortunately, knows more about Parker because Chloe hasn't been in his life. The bad thing is there are children who actually LIVE with their parents where the nanny knows more about them.

Great chapter Kpatch. I felt bad for Chloe having to ask a nanny all about her son. I can't wait to read more.

CONDO, MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT
Philip hears screaming and he jumps out of bed (wearing only pajama bottoms) and rushes to Parker’s room. He sees that Parker is sleeping and realizes the person who's screaming is Chloe, so he goes into her room. She’s in bed flailing her arms and appears to be screaming in her sleep. Philip goes to her and calls her name.
Philip: Chloe. Chloe, wake up. You’re having a nightmare. He sits on the bed and gently shakes her shoulders until she finally wakes up. The room is dark but she can see that a man is sitting on her bed. She smacks his face with all her might. Philip: Hey! She hits him again and he gets up off the bed and switches on the light. He’s holding his cheek as Chloe blinks, adjusting her vision to the brightness. Philip: Wow, you have some right hook. Chloe: What the hell were you doing? Philip: What was I doing? I was trying to wake you up. Chloe: Why? Philip: Because you were screaming bloody murder, that’s why. You were having a nightmare. Chloe: Oh. ... Oh. I remember. Philip: Do you want to talk about it? Chloe: No. Not to you. That’s for sure. Philip: What’s that supposed to mean? Chloe: Nothing. You can leave my room now. Philip: I was just trying to help. Chloe: Too little too late. Philip: What the hell happened to you? We’ve been friends for years. Why are you talking to me like I’m your worst enemy? Chloe: Because you are. Philip: Since when? Chloe: Since you took my son away from me and started a chain of events that ruined my life. Philip: Excuse me, but you threatened to take my son away from me, remember? Chloe: You know very well that I would never have taken him away from you. Philip: I do? How? You were drunk and unstable and doing all kinds of crazy things. Chloe snapped at Philip. Chloe: I’m not crazy! Philip: Maybe not now, but you were then. Do I need to bring up the oven incident? Or ... Chloe: You bastard. Philip [raising his voice]: I’m a bastard? I’m a bastard? You’re calling me a bastard? Chloe, I did everything for you. Everything! I was there whenever you needed me. Hell, I saved your life. And I was doing everything in my power to help you get your life on track and keep you close to Parker. But I couldn’t do it alone. You needed to do your part. Chloe: I was too doing my part. Philip: No you weren’t. Not unless your part means spending all your time at the Cheatin Heart downing martinis instead of making Parker your priority. You think this is the way I wanted my life to turn out? I wanted us to raise Parker together and you know it. Parker started to cry in the other room. Philip looked at Chloe who also looked like she was about to cry. He rubbed his cheek where she hit him. Philip: Your son is crying. Chloe didn’t react. Philip: Ah, to hell with you. He left the room to take care of Parker.

Whoa....there's alot of animosity there on both their parts.I LOVE that.Philip was right though,Philip did everything he could and it was up to Chloe to step up.Unfortunately she dropped the ball on her part and this is the consequences.I like that you pretty much pointed that out.Hopefully EACH of them will come to realize they had a part in the destruction of Chloe's life and stop blaming eachother.I can't wait until he finds out what happend to her.
