Please link to Daytime Royalty. Thank you.John and Marlena Make LoveAfter an emotionally trying time in the wake of his arrest and imprisonment for embezzlement, John turns to Marlena for comfort. For the first time since John's paralysis in 2009, he's finally able to make love to his wife.
"John initiates it," previews Drake Hogestyn. "He realizes that there are some sensations going on within his body." John sets the mood by creating a romantic evening for Marlena and "they proceed to take it to the next step."
Following their passionate encounter, Hogestyn states, "The relationship is much deeper than it has been in the last 10 years. They've never been closer."
Jennifer Choose Jack -- and Daniel!Jack is elated when he listens in as Jennifer confesses to Daniel that she still loves her ex-husband. "When Jack overhears Jennifer say something positive about him, he just gasps at it," notes Matthew Ashford. But in the next breath, Jennifer explains to Daniel that she also loves him. "Jack goes into denial when he hears that. He doesn't want to believe that Daniel is in any way special to Jennifer."
Daniel volunteers to step aside because it's tearing him up to see Jennifer in such anguish. Jennifer, however, says that she's unwilling to let Daniel go. "Poor Jennifer," voices Ashford. "She really is stuck in the middle. It's a very uncomfortable situation for her because she has strong feelings and a big heart. Both Jack and Daniel sincerely want her and she wants both of them in her life."
Ultimately, Jack pushes the issue and says it's not like she can go out with both men. Daniel surprises the two of them by suggesting it may not be such a bad idea. If Jennifer could spend time separately with both Jack and Daniel, it might help make her feelings clearer. "Daniel is thinking out of the box," shares Ashford. "Jack likes to think of himself that way, but on so many fronts, he's pretty conservative. Daniel is willing to think a little broader."
After giving Daniel's suggestion further thought, Jennifer agrees to do it. "None of them really wants to go down this road," asserts Ashford. "But the alternative is also unthinkable because someone is going to lose."
Jack is first up, and he plans an unexpected evening for Jennifer. They decorate Halloween cookies for children in the hospital. "Jack hasn't been working," Ashford points out. "So it's not like he has a lot of cash to spend. It's a quiet, wise move on Jack's part, arranging for them to work side by side on something. Jack also remembers that the hospital has always been a big part of Jennifer's life.
Will Jack's thoughtful move sway Jennifer?
Maggie Has A Secret Child!Bo and Hope rummage through the boxes in Alice's attic and uncover the letter that Alice was writing to Maggie before she died. Details in the letter are so significant that the Bradys feel compelled to immediately bring it to Maggie's attention.
"The letter brings up a lot of things for Maggie," explains Suzanne Rogers. In it, Alice writes about an event that occurred years ago, when Maggie had her eggs harvested. "The reason she did it is because, somewhere down the road, Mickey and Maggie though they would have a child," explains Rogers. "At the time, they didn't know that Mickey wa sterile. When they came to light, they forgot about the eggs."
But Alice remembered them. In the letter, Alice says she investigated what happened to Maggie's eggs and discovered that a child was conceived without Maggie's consent. "It's now an adult child," Rogers points out.
Unfortunately, Alice died before she could provide the whereabouts of Maggie's child. "Maggie can't believe that Alice didn't say anything," says Rogers. "She wanted to tell Maggie, but died before the letter was finished."
Later, Maggie meets again with Bo and Hope to try and unravel the mystery surrounding her child. She recalls the name of the medical storage facility and passes on the number to Bo and Hope. "They find out the facility has closed," offers Rogers. "Another storage facility was supposed to take the eggs." After they leave, Victor makes a mysterious call.
The trio meets with Alice's attorney, who is reluctant to disclose anything, but conveniently places a file for them to peruse when she leaves the room. In it, they find the name of a storage facility where the eggs may have been sent. Maggie is determined to find out what happened to her child.
Rafe is Fired!Rafe contacts Carrie and provides vital information that could exonerate John. Carrie heads to Switzerland to follow up on Rafe's lead and then calls him, excited by what she has discovered. Meanwhile, Austin feels put out that Carrie phoned Rafe, but not her husband. Austin also thinks that Rafe is crossing a line assisting his sister-in-law. He points out that Rafe should be helping the prosecution, not John's defense. "Rafe is only trying to get at the truth," offers Galen Gering. "Despite the fact that Rafe may be bending the rules, ultimately it's the best way to get justice. Otherwise, John will end up going to prison for the rest of his life.
Later, Roman confronts Rafe and says the FBI informed him that Rafe has been working with Carrie. Roman explains that because of Rafe's actions, he's fired from the force. "Rafe is completely taken aback," notes Gering.
Meanwhile, unbeknownst to Rafe, Sami has invited Austin to move into the loft while Carrie is out of town. Rafe returns home and is not pleased to hear that Austin is their new houseguest, especially in light of his dismissal from the police force. "Austin has been around the police station," reasons Gering. "He could have been eavesdropping. Rafe thinks, 'Who else would have access to this information or the motive to rat on him?' Now, this guy is showing up at his door and wants to stay with them!"
Rafe loses is cool and decks his brother-in-law. Sami is upset by Rafe's outburst, even after he says that Austin is responsible for costing him his job. "Any time your significant other doesn't back you, it just makes you angrier," says Gering. "You want the person you love to support you. When they don't, it's disappointing and it upsets you. Rafe has this feeling of, 'It's me against the world.' Rafe also know that Sami and Austin have a history, but he's the one, not Austin, who is trying to clear her stepdad's name. Rafe is trying to help Sami's family." A peeved Rafe storms off.
Abe Loses SteamEJ and Nicole go over the polling results and are thrilled that Abe's numbers are slipping. EJ realizes it is because of Abe's public support of John. Meanwhile, Abe and Lexie visit John and Marlena to see how things are going -- and they're not going so well. "Someone throws a rock through the window," Hogestyn describes. John realizes that Abe's loalty could cost him the mayoral election. "John doesn't want to be any baggage for Abe in his re-election bid," offers Hogestyn. "John also realizes that EJ and Stefano are counting on it, so John tries to distance himself from Abe." Hogestyn adds, "Everything is falling apart for the people who are trying to support John." Rather than see his friend suffer, John resolves to remedy the situation.
