I seriously doubt that Victor is going to end up being Daniel's father.
I do think though that Victor is going to be the person behind having the eggs stolen. Daniel's mother probably had fertility issues and wanted a child really badly so Victor arranged for Maggie's eggs to be stolen in order for Daniel's parents to be able to have a child. Victor probably never knew that the eggs were Maggie's. He is making the secret phone calls to make sure that no one ever finds out that he was behind having the eggs stolen. He is probably calling whoever it is that he had steal the eggs in the first place and make sure that they won't talk and let it be known that he was behind this whole thing.
The stuff that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever is why would Alice be giving someone money for over 20 years. Also the other thing that makes no sense about this whole stupid storyline is that Victor was not in Salem when Maggie did the whole egg stuff in the first place. In fact he wasn't even introduced on Days as a character yet.
Like I have said before this whole storyline is so stupid and I really just don't understand why Maggie needs to be made into Daniel's mother just so that Daniel and Melanie can have blood ties in Salem to one of the core families on the show. Sometimes non blood ties are stronger than blood ties when it comes to family. If the new writers really wanted Maggie to have a family of her own in Salem then they should have just brought on one of her daughters for her. Instead of bringing on all these new characters or bringing back Quinn they could have just brought on either Sarah or Melissa for Maggie instead of creating a whole new family for Maggie with Victor, Melanie and Daniel.

This storyline doesn't really bother me.Mainly because it's not another who's the daddy storyline, but rather a "who's the mom"story if that makes sense. It's a different twist on an old story.Probably also done to show us that even though he's with Maggie,Victor isn't always going to be squeaky clean. As for Victor not even being in salem at the time, they probably had plans to bring in another "Villain".I mean really, since when does a character have to be in town to cause trouble?Take John for example. We know something's happend to him,we know he's guilty of something, yet we don't know how yet. It's entirely possible the Dimeras messed with him yet again off camera. There's not much other way to explain his flashbacks, and what we've seen through those flashbacks. My guess on that one would be the Dimera mind control was never completely gone from John. But it still doesn't make the storylines stupid. It just means we don't have all the pieces to be able to fit the puzzles together yet to form a clear picture of what happend.

I wasn't watching when Daniel was introduced, but did they ever say WHY Vic was his godfather?

I don't think it was ever explained how Victor ended up being Daniel's godfather except that he was close friends with Daniel's parents.

Seriously though this whole Maggie/Daniel/Melanie stuff probably wouldn't be so much of a turnoff if we didn't just go through a similar situation with Melanie when she found out that Carly was her biological mother and Daniel was her biological father. It just seems like it is way to soon to do a maternity switch storyline when we just went through something similar with both these same characters except in this case it is going to be Daniel instead of Melanie who gets a new mommy. I may have been more open to accept this whole storyline if 1)I didn't dislike two of the characters involved, 2)the writers waited at least another year before doing it since the whole Carly/Melanie stuff is too fresh in my mind, and 3)it didn't feel like this was a way to give Victor and Maggie a new insta family instead of allowing them to have their own already established real families on the show. I just feel like this is a way for the new writers to lessen the importance of Philip, Sarah, and Melissa in Victor's lives so that they don't have to bring them back. If the new writers can give Victor and Maggie a new family to concentrate on then their won't be a need for Victor's and Maggie's other children to be in Salem because Victor and Maggie will have Daniel and Melanie's lives to focus on. Also I hate paternity change storylines no matter who is involved in them. I just don't like it when children were kept from their biological parents most of their lives unless the biological parent is the one who chooses to allow the child to be raised by someone else because there is no way that they can raise them.

I am not looking forward to this story at all. I may have to quit watching "live". If I record then I can use the FF. I agree that this could have waited if it had to be done at all.

I know that timelines and characters ages don't seem to matter much on soaps what with SORASing and whatnot. But I still find it hard to buy that Daniel could be Maggie's bio son with one of her harvested eggs. Daniel is in his 40's and would have been born in the late 1960's which was a good 10 years prior to the world's first test tube baby and a good 15 years or so prior to Maggie doing the whole harvested egg thing on the show. Yeah, I get that we have a good many characters who are way older than they should be (EJ, Philip, Belle, Brady, etc.) but the difference is that we were introduced to these characters when they were babies so it's easier to accept a SORAS, IMO. I guess maybe I should have learned a long time ago not to question these things and should just check reality at the door.
