from daytime royalty daytimeroyaltyonline.com/topic/8585100/1/(NOTE: This information has not been 100% verified yet but there are numerous reliable sources over on the daytime royalty website that believe this information is probably true)Huge maternity secret revealed! In the coming months on Days Of Our Lives, it will be revealed that Daniel Jonas is the son of Maggie Horton. This plot twist makes Melanie Maggie's granddaughter and it ties the Jonas family to the canvas in a huge way. I'm not 100% sure who Daniel's father is but based on what I know so far I can tell you that it's probably Neil Curtis. It don't know if these scenes have already been taped or if they've only been scripted, but this information was confirmed by a VERY reliable source so it's not just a rumor. This is happening. Maggie is Daniel's mother. (This information was provided by a poster named Mystery over on the Daytime Royalty website)

^^^what she said.
Umm. I thought Maggie couldn't have kids? Didn't she adopt all hers? Or just Melissa?
Wow. This is a total shocker.
This would make he and Jenn related. Not by blood though, right? If he is Neil Curtis son, then it's by marriage that Daniel will be a Horton. Right?

The DR staff members have now posted that this information is extremely reliable and they pretty much said that this information came from someone who works close to the show and we should believe that Daniel is going to end up Maggie's son.

Maggie isn't a Horton by blood so Daniel would technically not be a Horton, but he would be related to the Horton clan. Jennifer is a Horton by blood, as her father is Bill Horton. I remember something about Maggie being artificially inseminated and Neil using his own semen. I thought that produced Jessica who became a Fallon, but I'm not completely clear. Daniel is Victor's godson and if Victor and Maggie get married, he'll also be Victor's stepson. Oh. My. God.

If that were true, then there is no getting rid of Dr. "CreepingHands" Jonas. I do like that it would solidify a family for Melanie, but I wanted a paternity change for her.

I know I'm in the minority, but I think this storyline is a horrible idea.

I know I'm in the minority, but I think this storyline is a horrible idea. You are definitely not the only one who hates it and thinks it is the worst idea that the new writers could ever come up with to tie Melanie and Daniel to Maggie. I do not understand why every single character on Days has to be related to one of the core families of Days. This is going to be a big mistake on the new headwriters part because it will limit who Melanie and Daniel can be paired up with and it becomes icky that Daniel is dating Maggie's niece even if they are not related by blood and it is also icky that Melanie dated Maggie's grandson now that Melanie is going to be Maggie's granddaughter.

villa, I don't like the idea either. I just liked one miniscule aspect of it, which I do believe be achieved some other way (by changing Melanie's not Daniel's parentage). This isn't a way to bring more Hortons on the show when we could have other, more handsome doctors come back (Mike, or the Silver Fox Bill Horton!) or even bring back Lucas.

It would just be better if the new writers just brought on either Sarah or Melissa to give Maggie a child in Salem instead of creating a son that never existed before for Maggie just so that Melanie and Daniel can be tied to Maggie for life. I would much rather that the new writers keep Melanie and Maggie's relationship the way that it is right now since Maggie already considers Melanie to be like one of her own daughters. After seeing this spoiler earlier I am already starting to loose faith in these new writers since this is going to be a real disappointment if this really ends up happening.

I don't want to be quick to judge this storyline,so all I'm going to say is that it sounds pretty interesting. The new writers haven't let me down so far so I'm just going to sit back, enjoy and trust that they know what they're doing.

I agree there is really no need to make Maggie and Melanie related just to make an explanantion for their bonds. In real life we all have special bonds with people outside of families. People do not need to be related to one another to share a special relationship, the idea of that is just ridiculous.
