Thanks for posting kathyj. I'm not familiar with his work but I do think Days needs to bring in new blood instead of continuing to rotate the same pool of writers every few years. I've never been a big fan of Higley. Who knows? I may feel differently a few months from now but I'm looking forward to seeing where they take the show. Of course, every time they change writers there is usually a massive change in direction of certain characters. I hope it's a bit smoother this time around and that they don't get rid of any of my favs.

Thanks kathyj. I'm not familiar with this new writer but people who have watched his other work seem to be happy. I was not a fan of Higley at all and felt in many ways she broke the show. So I'm excited about this news. But I do hope this is the last writer switch for a while. I'm tired of looking forward to changes in the writing regime every August.

I can't remember the name of the writer before Higley came back, but he was even worse than Higley in my opinion. He wrote all the dark stuff and murdered half the cast. I hope this new writer is true to character and relationships and that will be his focus. It would be nice if some actors/characters (Jay as Philip, Jen Lilley as Theresa) would return as a result of better storylines. Anyone know when we'll start seeing the new guy's "handwriting" on the show? Thanks for the info kathyj.

Dena Higley's response to a tweet asking why she kept returning to Days after she was fired.

I am not familiar with Ron Carlivati's work but someone on twitter said he was good to General Hospital's vets which is good news for me.

Dena Higley's response to a tweet asking why she kept returning to Days after she was fired. Wow. Sounds like a bunch of bitterness transpired this time. SaveSave

I didn't think that was very professional of Higley, honestly. Not as bad as Jonathon McClendon but not exactly a plus in terms of my opinion of her. LOL

Re: Dena's tweet- Wow!
You know there's some speculation on Daytime Royalty because of bringing on Sherri Anderson (I think that was her name) as well that this might be Days' last ditch effort to save the show or that this is the end and she's being brought in to tie things up. You can check out the thread to see their reasoning. Anyway, I know there's always speculation about the show getting cancelled so it's probably just speculation. I hope so. The show has been at the bottom of the ratings for a while so they do probably need to make a drastic change.
I also saw some people saying on GH the new writer liked campy stuff.

Anyone know when we'll start seeing the new guy's "handwriting" on the show? Thanks for the info kathyj. Jason47 says the show has been taped thru June so the new writing would not air until Summer. Maybe since they're so far ahead they can take a good long time and put some real thought into upcoming storylines before executing them. I would love for the show to shorten the film-ahead time.

I agree that the person before Higley's last go round was worse, but I've not been a fan of Higley either. She loves the recycled storylines way too much and then when she tries to write new ones, she loses the history and sense of the character. I think she would be better off somewhere where character history doesn't matter. Where she can create whatever storylines and characters she wants for a one time shot and then be done with it and on to the next thing.
I agree that her little tirade is not in her best interest. If she pays any attention to the fan forums, she would know that fans haven't been happy with her work for quite a while.
I've been watching GH and have liked the storylines and progression on it. Not sure how much of what I have seen has been from this guy, but I hope that he can pull Days out of the slump it's been in. He's got some great history and actors/actresses if he will just utilize them correctly.

BTW - that's his twitter account up there in the SOD story. Just in case you want to tweet him and let him know what you want to see on the show.

Sherri Anderson wrote a lot of the big romantic super couple stories in the 80's and early 90's. Her involvement with the show gives me hope that romance is on the horizon.
I'm hopeful after reading several articles about the new headwriter.
