CHLOE’S APARTMENT

Chloe: Why do you think I came back to Salem, Philip? I came back because I wanted to see you.

Philip is stunned by Chloe’s confession. Did he hear her correctly? Is he finally her first choice? He hesitantly takes a step toward Chloe and leans in to kiss her. As their lips meet, Philip takes her in his arms. Chloe responds to his kiss and suddenly the years melt away. It’s as if they’re 16 again and back in the Kiriakis stables. Philip stops kissing Chloe and looks at her.
Chloe: What’s wrong?
Philip: Nothing. Nothing is wrong. I’ve been waiting for this moment for 12 years.
Chloe: The wait is over.

Philip’s lips cover Chloe’s as his hands run through her hair and over her face. She fiddles anxiously with his shirt buttons.
Chloe: Oh hell.

She rips Philip’s shirt open and the buttons go flying everywhere. Nervous and excited, they laugh and pull off the rest of their clothing. Bare skin against bare skin and consuming each other’s flesh like hungry lions, they fall onto the sofa. Everything about this moment felt so familiar, yet so new. Philip was holding a body he knew so well, a body he saw in his mind’s eye hundreds of times since that night in the stables. But Chloe wasn’t a teenaged girl anymore. She was an experienced woman and she moved her hands over Philip’s skin and molded her body to his in a way that drove Philip crazy with lust. And this time, he would not be denied. His hands followed Chloe’s curves, her neck, her breasts, her hips, her thighs ... they all belonged to him tonight, and tomorrow, and the next night. She was his now, and his fingers explored every inch of her body. The feel of her breasts brought back a memory that almost made him cry. But it was better than any memory. Better than any dream. And better than any fantasy. All Philip knew was that he had never felt this way before. They were both running on raw emotion, kissing wildly, passionately, fully. Chloe basked in the warmth of Philip’s arms, aching to feel him inside her, but not wanting to rush this moment that she had wanted for so long.

Philip looked into her eyes and held her face in his hands. It had been too long since she saw that look in his eyes, a look of love and kindness, and of caring more about her happiness than about his own. That Philip still existed and here he was, lying naked in Chloe's arms. He didn’t need to say a word. She nodded and he kissed her deeply as their bodies became one.

Weary, warm, and satiated, Philip and Chloe laid on her couch with their arms around each other.
Philip: Are you okay?
Chloe: Mmm hmm. Are you?
Philip: I feel like ... a different man. Chloe, I ... I can’t believe I spent so many years hating you.
Chloe: You didn’t really hate me, did you?
Philip smiled, kissed Chloe’s forehead, and spoke softly.
Philip: No. I loved you. But I was angry ... because I wanted something I couldn’t have. A dream I could never fulfill. I have to ask ... Do you really think I’m pathetic?
Chloe: If you’re pathetic, then so am I. Everything’s different now, Philip. You know that, don’t you?
Philip: That depends.
Chloe: On what?
Philip: Tell me something, Chloe. Tell me you love me.
Chloe smiles.
Chloe: I do love you, Philip. I’ve always loved you.
Philip: I wish you had told me that 12 years ago.
Chloe: I thought it went without saying.
Philip: You’re kidding, right?
Chloe laughs.
Chloe: I’m kidding.
Philip: Three little words. What a difference they can make to a weary heart.

Thanks for writing a story that really surprised me...in the BEST way possible. I loved the emotions and thoughts Philip was experiencing. He truly showed that this was a completely different experience for him. I loved their honesty and Chloe telling Philip that she'd always loved him. I thought it was really hot! I loved that they felt 16 all over again. But this time there was no fear of getting caught by any adults. Thanks Kpatch for sharing another fabulous story with us!

I am so happy you liked the story so much. Thanks for all the great comments. I just love the instant feedback. It was fun exploring the darker side of Philip, but then again, it’s fun exploring any side of Philip. (You knew I was going to say that, didn’t you?)

I have to tell you that the story was totally inspired by the song The Weary Kind. When I listened to the lyrics I visualized different scenes relating to Philip. Thanks to everyone who helped bring the video to life.

So what’s next for kpatch? I seem to keep changing the order of upcoming stories as new stories occur to me. As of now, here’s what’s coming up:

After the Fall - starts Monday. Look for a preview this weekend. (Hint: It’s what happens after Chloe moves to Chicago.)
Rear Window - starring Lucas!
Twist of Fate - Part 5 of the Phloe Trilogy. (Sorry guys, I never expected to go 6 months between the end of Passions and the next part of the saga. There are currently 8 parts in all.)

That will probably take us through to the end of the year, but don’t worry. I have 5 other stories either written or started, and several others in the idea stage.
