Thursday - 10/31 - Halloween
WEST HOUSE
Sydney put some candy into several kids’ bags. She wore cat ears and had drawn whiskers by her nose.
SILVER: Happy Halloween!
Silver, who was wearing a witch’s hat and purple robes, shut the screen door as the group of kids left. She and Sydney sat down.
SYDNEY: Thanks for having me over. Sorry if I’m not as into things as I am most years, but I’m glad to have some company.
SILVER: Hey, I totally get it. I’m just glad you’re here.
SYDNEY: Thanks. I am having a good time, it’s just…
Silver patted Sydney’s hand.
SILVER: I know.
Sydney laid her head on Silver’s shoulder.
SALEM UNIVERSITY
Johnny and Meadow, both dressed as characters from the TV show Riverdale, walked into Harrison’s, the alternate cafeteria, which had been set up for a Halloween party. Music played over the speakers. (
CLICK HERE to listen to it).
JOHNNY: Looks nice.
MEADOW: Yeah. Thanks for coming with me.
JOHNNY: Of course. Gotta go to a party on Halloween.
MEADOW: I know, but I would have understood if you didn’t.
JOHNNY: Hey, I appreciate you wanting to look out for me. I’m okay, though. Honest. If I wasn’t, I’d tell you.
MEADOW: Alright.
JOHNNY: Now, come on, let’s have some fun.
MEADOW: Sounds good.
Meadow took Johnny’s arm, and they went to join the party. After a few minutes, they ran into Allie and Karna, who were both dressed as Harry Potter characters.
MEADOW: Hey! Good to see you guys!
KARINA: You too!
JOHNNY: How are you doing?
ALLIE: I’m okay. You?
JOHNNY: Yeah, I’m good.
KARINA: Great party, right?
JOHNNY: Yeah, we just got here. It does look fun, though.
BRADY PUB
Brady sat at the counter, eating a burger and talking to Max.
BRADY: So, what are you supposed to be, again?
MAX: Sweeney Todd. You know, from the musical about the barber who gets revenge on all the people who’ve wronged him.
CHELSEA: By making meat pies.
BRADY: And you’re the cook he boards with who helps him make the pies.
CHELSEA (in a bad English accent): You’ve got that right, love.
Chelsea and Max laughed. Brady smiled.
MAX: So, how’re you doing, man?
BRADY: I’m okay.
MAX: Yeah?
BRADY: Yeah. The funeral last week was helpful.
CHELSEA: Well, just know, we’re here for you if you need anything.
ERIC: Same here.
Brady turned as Eric walked over. He got up and he and Eric hugged.
BRADY: Good to see you, brother.
ERIC: You too.
JADE’S APARTMENT
Jade and Nicole hugged.
JADE: Thanks for coming over!
NICOLE: No problem! Daniel’s working the late shift tonight, so I figured it’d be more fun to hang out with my favorite sister and niece on Halloween.
Emmy, who was still wearing her wolf costume, ran over to Nicole and hugged her.
EMMY: We just got back from Trick-or-Treating!
NICOLE: Awesome! Did you get a good haul this year, kid?
EMMY: Yep!
Emmy showed Nicole her bucket, which was full of several different candies.
NICOLE: Wow! That is so cool!
EMMY: Thanks. Can I have some now, Mommy?
JADE: You can have one right now.
EMMY: Okay.
NICOLE: Can I have a piece, too, Emmy?
EMMY: Sure!
NICOLE: Thank you!
Emmy and Nicole both took a piece of candy from the bucket.
EMMY: Mommy and me were gonna watch the Great Pumpkin. Wanna watch it with us, Aunt Nic?
NICOLE: I would love that! I haven’t watched the Great Pumpkin for years.
EMMY: Cool!
Emmy went to get the show set up.
JADE: That’s her favorite. She could probably repeat every line from it.
NICOLE: Hey, it’s a classic for a reason.
Nicole and Jade sat on either side of Emmy to watch.
SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
CLICK HERE to listen to the music that’s playing. The annual Halloween party was in full swing, albeit with slightly lower attendance than most years. Joy and Hawk, dressed similarly to how they dressed for the Alamain gala in Bangkok last year, danced together.
JOY: I’ve gotta say, your dance moves have improved since last year, and they were already better than you claimed they were.
Hawk chuckled.
HAWK: Thanks. It helps that I had two really good teachers.
Joy and Hawk kissed.
Rex, dressed as a doctor, and Noelle, dressed as a witch, were also dancing.
REX: Have I mentioned before how much I love your costume?
NOELLE: You have.
Noelle and Rex laughed.
NOELLE: But I’m always glad to hear it. I know I’ve worn it before, but it’s my favorite.
REX: Hey, like I said, I love it.
NOELLE: Thanks. Halloweentown, and specifically Marnie Piper, was such a huge part of my childhood.
REX: I’m glad you finally showed me those movies.
NOELLE: Me too.
Rex and Noelle kissed.
Joey and Alanis, who were dressed as Spider-Man and Spider-Gwen (without the masks), walked over to Ciara and Trix, who were dressed as two different versions of Harley Quinn.
JOEY: Wow! It’s like seeing double!
All four laughed.
CIARA: Well, I wanted to dress up as Harley Quinn, and when that new Joker movie came out…
TRIX: I absolutely loved the way she looked! So, we decided to both dress up as Harley. Me as Lady Gaga’s version…
CIARA: And me as Margot Robbie’s.
ALANIS: That’s really cool!
CIARA: Anyway, you guys look great as Spider-Man and Spider-Woman!
JOEY: Thanks!
TRIX: You're gonna do another performance this year, yeah?
ALANIS: Yep
JOEY: Speaking of which, it’s time.
ALANIS: Great!
CIARA: Ooh, looks like we arrived just in time!
Alanis got onstage. Joey leaned over to Ciara.
JOEY: She and Claire were originally gonna do a duet, but after the last couple weeks…
CIARA: I totally get it.
JOEY: How’s she doing, by the way?
CIARA: She’s okay. She and Belle are spending the night at Marlena’s.
Joey nodded. Alanis had finished setting up.
ALANIS: Good evening, Salem! How are we all doing tonight?
Several people in the crowd cheered.
ALANIS: Excellent! Here’s a little number some of you should know. If you do, feel free to sing along!
Alanis began strumming her guitar and singing.
CLICK HERE to listen to the song she sang. After she was done, several people clapped.
ALANIS: Happy Halloween!
