Chapter 152

PARKING LOT
JOHN: What's going on here?
NYX: As if you don't know.
Erebus walked up.
EREBUS: Did you really think we wouldn't come after you, eventually? After what you did to our mother? To our father?
JOHN: Orpheus destroyed himself.
NYX: You're the one who put a bullet in him.
JOHN: Your father was going to hurt Marlena if I didn't stop him. I did what I had to do to protect my family.
EREBUS: Lies! Father would never hurt Marlena.
JOHN: I'm tellin' you the truth, son. I'm sorry about your parents, but I would not let him hurt Marlena, just as I will not allow you to kill me.
STEVE: And neither will we.
Out of nowhere, Steve appeared and belted Erebus. Meanwhile, John quickly overpowered Nyx. Unseen by any of the party, Kayla slipped inside one of the hotel rooms.

KIRIAKIS MANSION
CHLOE: No, no I haven't. Philip and I are no longer together.
BRADY: I knew that. I just didn't know if you'd heard from him.
CHLOE: Nope.
BRADY: You know he's also in town, right?
CHLOE: I assumed as much.
BRADY: Okay, well, moving on from that obviously sore topic, when's the reunion?
CHLOE: Soon. Next week, actually.
Chloe looked at her watch.
CHLOE: Brady, I'm sorry. I promised Shawn and Belle I'd meet them for lunch this afternoon.
BRADY: No problem. I'm sure I'll see you more this week.
CHLOE: Definitely.
Chloe and Brady hugged, then Brady left.

SALEM INN
Joey had helped Jade get onto a bed. She was laying with her legs elevated on a suitcase that belonged to one of the twins. A towel covered her lower body. She moaned from the pain of another contraction. Joey was on the phone.
JOEY: Yes, I'm at the Salem Inn. Room 27. I have a pregnant woman who is giving birth. No, we can't drive. Okay. Thank you.
Joey hung up, and quickly texted his parents, then sat down next to Jade.
JOEY: The ambulence is on it's way. They'll be here any minute.
Jade groaned again.
JADE: I don't know if I can make it that long. God, this hurts like hell!
JOEY: It's okay. You can do this, Jade. I know you can. Just keep breathing.
Jade took deep breaths between the contractions, which were getting increasngly close. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Joey ran to open in.
JOEY: Mom!
Kayla walked in.
KAYLA: Joey, what are you doing here?
JOEY: Look, we'll talk about that later, okay? It's not important right now. Jade's having her baby.
Kayla and Joey ran over to Jade.
KAYLA: How dilated is she?
JOEY: I really don't know. I've been concentrating on taking care of her.
KAYLA: Jade, I'm going to have to look at you to see how close the baby is to coming out.
JADE: Do whatever you have to, just stop this pain!
Kayla looked under the towel.
KAYLA: It's okay. I can see it's head. Just hold on, Jade. It'll be over soon.
Joey took Jade's hand.
JOEY: It's all right, Jade. My mom knows what she's doing. You've got this! I know you do!
JADE: Please don't leave me, Joey.
JOEY: I'm not going anywhere. Just concentrate on your breathing.
KAYLA: I'm also gonna need you to push, Jade. It's time for this baby to come out!

Go John and Steve! I could hear John's voice in his dialogue.

Glad the kidnapping is over. Next crisis is the birth lol.

Sounds like things ended really badly between Philip and Chloe. I wonder what happened between them.

Chapter 153

PARKING LOT
Steve and John were still dealing with the twins. John had easily overpowered Nyx, and had her hancuffed in the back of his car. Erebus had proven a bit more difficult. Steve put him in a chokehold, while John cuffed him. Just then, an ambulance and a police car pulled up. Hope walked out of the car.
HOPE: Gentlemen, what have we got?
JOHN: You remember hearing the name Orpheus?
HOPE: Marlena and Roman have mentioned him, yes.
STEVE: Well, lady commissioner, get ready to meet his kids. This gentleman with the black eye and cuffs is Erebus, and that lady in the car over there is his twin sister, Nyx.
JOHN: For a while, they were going as Conrad and...
HOPE: Mila Harp. Yes, Ciara told me about Nyx. It appears she was posing as one of Ciara, Claire, Chase and Joey's teachers after the last one “mysteriously” vanished. She really couldn't think of a less conspicuous nickname?
STEVE: That's what I'm sayin'?
HOPE: Leave this one to me. I'll take him down to the station.
JOHN: I'll follow you with Nyx.
Hope nodded.
HOPE: Have you found Joey and Jade?
STEVE: Kayla stepped into a hotel room at one point. I'm guessing that they're there, seeing as these two clowns were registered to the Salem Inn.
HOPE: All right. Let's go.
Hope took Erebus from Steve and walked him to her squad car.
EREBUS: I want a lawyer.
HOPE: You'll get one soon enough. I'm sure my two partners already told you your rights, so I suggest you use that one about staying silent.

SALEM INN
Addie, Tommy's daughter, had come with the EMTs. Together, she and Kayla helped Jade through the birth. After much pushing and moaning on Jade's part, the baby finally came out. There was a millisecond of silence, followed by the cries of a newborn. Addie cut the umbilical cord.
KAYLA: It's a girl.
Jade sighed with relief and laid back while Addie went to clean off the baby.
JOEY: You did really well, Jade. You were, like, amazing.
JADE: Thanks...thank you for staying with me, Joey.
JOEY: No problem.
Addie came back, holding the baby, who had now calmed down.
ADDIE: We should get you to a hospital. All three of you.
JOEY: Seriously? Look, Dr. Horton, I'm fine. Jade's the one who just gave birth.
KAYLA: Joey, we need to give you a check out just to make sure that Orpheus' twins didn't hurt you.
JOEY: Fine, whatever. Just make sure Jade and the baby are okay, first.
ADDIE: We will. But, before any of that...
Addie walked over to Jade.
ADDIE: Would you like to meet your daughter?
Jade nodded and put out her arms. Gently, Addie gave her the baby.
KAYLA: Put one arm under her head. There we go.
Jade did as Kayla told her. She looked at the baby and smiled.
JADE: Hey. Hi, little girl. I'm your mama. Hi. You're so beautiful. You're the most perfect thing in the world.
Jade looked up at Kayla and Addie.
JADE: Thank you. All of you.

Aww that was a sweet scene.I wonder what Jade will name the baby and whether Joey will have second thoughts baout her as a result of this. I kind of hope not because Jade is still Jade despite this incident.

I sure hope that Jade doesn't try to use this baby as part of a guilt trip or a more sinister manipulation than what she has already done.

Hope, Hope, Hope! Never assume anything you twit! You ASK your partners if they have marandized the criminals. And if you can't ask your partners, then just say it again. It takes all of what, 30 seconds? Oy.  She has obviously never watched a Madea movie.  LOL  I sure hope Erebus and Nyx don't get out on a technicality on this.

So glad the twins are in custody.I'm with mae00. I sure hope Hope is right that Steve or John read their Miranda rights, but if they're private detectives and not cops, not sure it would be legal.
