I hope Rex is able to get a second chance with Mimi but if not, Sarah is available and or so is Noelle (Elle) or Rex can move on with any of the Horton women if Mimi rejects him again



Charlie is the perfect scapegoat for EJ, Andre and Johnny...I just hope Andre sees it that way

Cassie’s phone rang. She looked at the caller I.D.
REX: You gonna get that?
Cassie looked up. She wasn’t sure if Rex could see who was calling or not.
CASSIE: Absolutely.
She picked up the phone
CASSIE: Hello?

ALAMAIN INDUSTRIES
NICHOLAS: Cassie.
Nicholas stood up and walked over to the large window that was off to the side of his desk.
NICHOLAS: How are you doing?

BRADY PUB
CASSIE: I’m great, thanks. Um, just hang on one second.
Cassie put a hand over the receiver and mouthed “Be right back” to Rex. Then, she went into her room, closing the door behind her.

SALEM PLACE
Mimi blinked hard.
MIMI: You’re…you’re engaged?!
KEVIN: Yes, that is correct.
MIMI: And you decided that now was the perfect time to mention this?
KEVIN: I will admit, my timing could use a little work.
MIMI: You can say that again! Were you ever going to mention this at all? How has this not come up before now?
KEVIN: Of course I was! I was waiting for the right moment, but we were all so caught up in the reunion and the memories, there just didn’t seem to be a good time. Maybe there never was going to be, but there it is.
MIMI (under her breath): I don’t believe this.
She turned away.
KEVIN: Meems, I’m sorry-
Mimi turned around suddenly.
MIMI: Don’t “Meems” me, Kevin!
KEVIN: Look, I’m just trying to say that I’m sorry, all right? I never meant to hurt you.
MIMI: No, it’s not all right! You’re engaged, and I’ve been spending the last week since the reunion getting excited for this moment! I thought this was a date!
KEVIN: I never said it was.
MIMI: But you never corrected me when I said it was!
KEVIN: You’re right. You are absolutely right. I thought that you were using a figure of speech, the idea that you meant a literal date hadn’t crossed my mind, and that’s my bad. I’m sorry if I led you on, that was absolutely not my intention at all.
MIMI (under her breath): This is why I despise seeing my exes.
She took a deep breath.
MIMI: So, where is she, then? Where’s this woman that you’re engaged to? Why isn’t she here?
KEVIN: She’s in D.C. She couldn’t get off work for the reunion, but wanted me to go ahead without her.
MIMI: Well, I hope you two are very happy together. I need to go. This was clearly a mistake.
Mimi turned to leave.
KEVIN: Mimi, wait, please.
She stopped, but didn’t turn around.
KEVIN: I’m sorry, I should have been straight with you from the beginning. I never meant to hurt you. I guess I just got so caught up in the memories and seeing everybody again that, for once in my life, I didn’t think.
MIMI: Well, you’re right about one thing, you should have been straight with me from the beginning.
Mimi walked away. Kevin sighed as he watched her.

Mimi I can get her reaction but at the same time she should have never have got her hopes up with Kevin to begin with. Yeah Kevin should have been more forthcoming with his engagement but really was there ever going to be a right time for any of that though?

Cassie and Nicholas it seems are heading for love in the right direction well judging from that phone call



This at least gives Rex a chance with Mimi but also Rex is single and there are women he could be paired up with like Sarah Horton, Noelle Curtis, Addie Horton, Chloe Lane amongst others

Mimi's right that Kevin should have told her from the beginning that he was engaged. It wouldn't have been that hard to bring it up before there was even any mention of a date. "It's great to see you again. I'm engaged now, can you believe it?" is the kind of thing people say at reunions.

I hope Mimi doesn't turn to Rex to soothe her broken heart, though. That's never a good basis for a relationship.

I almost forgot that Cassie is dating Nicholas. Good to see him again.

NICHOLAS: I’m sorry, am I catching you at a bad time?
CASSIE: No, no. Not at all. It’s just, you know the Pub, it’s always busy, I just needed to get somewhere a bit quieter.
NICHOLAS: Right.
CASSIE: Anyway, how are you?
NICHOLAS: It’s a good day, so far. Stocks are up, as are profits, and it looks like it’s going to be a beautiful extended weekend for the Fourth of July.
CASSIE: That’s great!
NICHOLAS: And speaking of which, what are your plans for the Fourth?
CASSIE: Well, as you may or may not know, usually, the Bradys, Hortons and other family friends get together for a barbecue and to watch the fireworks.
NICHOLAS: I see. Any chance you’d be open to doing something a little different this year?
CASSIE: That depends. What did you have in mind?
NICHOLAS: Well, I recently purchased a boat. It’s, admittedly, a small one, but she is a beauty. I was thinking I’d give her a test run over the long weekend, maybe go out to the bay and watch the fireworks from the water. And, I was wondering if you’d fancy joining me?
CASSIE: Oh, that sounds like fun! Who else is going?
NICHOLAS: Just you and I. Beatrix will be spending the day with Ciara, I understand the Fourth is a somewhat difficult day for her, and Aunt Viv is staying home.
CASSIE: Gotcha. So, it’s just the two of us, then.
NICHOLAS: That is correct.
CASSIE: Sounds like fun. Sure, I’ll come with you.
NICHOLAS: Wonderful. I’ll be by to pick you up at 2:30. I figure we can spend the afternoon together at the beach, maybe have a cookout, then take the boat out in the evening.
CASSIE: A cookout, the beach?
NICHOLAS: Unless you’d prefer something else, of course.
CASSIE: No, that sounds great. I just never took you for a beach and cookout kinda guy, what with the fancy office and the expensive tuxedos and boat and everything.
NICHOLAS: Oh, there are many sides to me, Cassie, and I am thrilled to be able to show you another one this weekend.
CASSIE: So it seems. Nicky, is this a date?
NICHOLAS: It can be whatever you’d like it to be. If you’d like it to be a date, then it’s a date.
CASSIE: Cool. So, I’ll see you on the Fourth at 2:30.
NICHOLAS: I’ll be there. Have a good afternoon, Cassie.

CASSIE: You too.
Cassie hung up. She took a deep breath, clutching her phone to her chest, then walked back into the hallway. Rex was still standing there.
CASSIE: Sorry about that. You didn’t have to wait for me.
REX: It’s no problem. Everything okay?
CASSIE: Yeah, absolutely. I, um, I just made a date.
REX; Oh, that’s cool. Who with?
Cassie hesitated.
CASSIE: Okay, don’t freak out.
REX: That’s a sentence that never brings good things. Come on, Cass, it’s me, we tell each other everything.
CASSIE: It’s with Nicholas Alamain.
Rex’s mouth dropped open.
REX: Really?
CASSIE: Really. He called me up and asked me if I’d join him on the Fourth of July, and I said yes.
REX: Cass…
CASSIE: Rex, I know what you’re going to say, so don’t bother. I know what I’m doing. I survived going to Philip and Melanie’s wedding with him. Hell, I survived going to Europe with him for a week. Nicky is a good person, despite who his aunt is, and he’s not going to hurt me.
REX: I hope you’re right.
CASSIE: I am. So please, don’t be like Mom and have someone watching over me like I need a babysitter or anything.
Rex sighed.
REX: I wasn’t going to. I know you’re perfectly capable of making your own decisions. I just don’t want to see you get hurt.
CASSIE: And I just told you, I won’t. Did you forget that I used to be the vixen of Salem U when we were in college? I know how to handle men.
REX: No, I didn’t forget. But, I am your brother, and I’m always going to feel some level of protectiveness toward you.
CASSIE: I appreciate that, but in this case, it’s not necessary. Trust me, if something goes wrong, you’ll be the first to know.
REX: All right, if you’re sure.
CASSIE: I am. Now, come on, let’s go have dinner.

DIMERA MANSION
Dr. Rolf was in his lab, talking on the phone while looking at a monitor.
ROLF: It is in the final stages, I just need a few more days. I assure you, she will be ready on schedule.

I'm excited for the Fourth of July parties and for Cassie and Nicholas' date. Though I'm not sure he's as far removed from the Alamian ways as Cassie thinks.

I wonder what Rolf is up to.

These days, considering Mimi's misunderstanding, it's good to double check if a date means a date. Nicholas's plans sound ideal. If Cassie doesn't want to go, I will. Still, I'm a tiny bit nervous about Cassie being alone with him on a boat with no witnesses.
