Chapter 11

SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
Aiden and Claire had been joined by Shawn-D and Hope.
CLAIRE: What exactly happened?
SHAWN-D: Your mother and I were at Salem Place talking to...a person we once knew, when the explosion hit. I'm fine. This other person will be, as well.
CLAIRE: What about mom?
SHAWN-D: Claire, the doctors are doing the best they can.
HOPE: They are with Roman, as well. And Chase.
Aiden nodded.
Hope put an arm around Claire.
Eric walked into the hospital chapel. Caroline was sitting in the front pew. Eric walked up to her and put a hand on her shoulder. She took his hand. Together, they walked up to the altar, made the sign of the cross, knelt and folded their hands.
ERIC & CAROLINE: Hail Mary, full of grace. Our Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
ERIC: My most loving Father, You have promised, “I am the God who heals you”. We place in your loving care all of those who have been injurned in the explosion. Their sick bodies, worried minds, their emotional wounds and sinful nature. Lord, if it be Your will, allow the doctors the knowledge to care for them, whatever their condition may be. Loving Father, We trust in Your love for them. Help all of us to love You more. Help us to increase our faith in You. We surrender to you all of those who have been hurt by the horrific events of the day. Cleanse us with the precious blood of Jesus, purify us and set us free from anger, resentment, hatred, unresolved hurts and greed. Help us to remember that the power of the Holy Trinity dwells within us and all power to forgive and overcome sin is in us. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit and Your peace. Amen. Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary, please protect us.
Jade sat down next to Joey.
JOEY: Jade, this really isn't the time.
JADE: Why not?
JOEY: Look around you. It's utter chaos! There was a huge explosion in the middle of the town!
JADE: I know. But since you're here and I'm here, I figured we could use this time to talk.
JOEY: Like I said, not the time.
JADE: Did you get hurt?
JOEY: What?
JADE: In the explosion, did you get hurt?
JOEY: No, but that's not the point.
JADE: Well, at least you didn't get hurt.
JOEY: Did you?
JADE: No. I was already at the hospital before the explosion.
JOEY: What are you doing here, anyway?
JADE: I haven't been feeling well the last couple days, so I wanted to get checked out.
JOEY: And...?
JADE: And I'm pregnant. Congrats, you're gonna be a father.
Daniel, Scotty, Addie and Tommy were working on patients in the OR.
TOMMY: This isn't good.
DANIEL: What?
TOMMY: Severe spinal damage, head injury and internal bleeding. He's bleeding faster than we can stop it.
SCOTTY: Any faster, and he'll bleed out.
The monitor on one of the patients starting beeping very quickly.
TOMMY: We're losing him! I need a crash cart in here!

OH NO!!! That's either Roman or Chase and I don't want to know which one.

I know Jade needs to tell Joey he's the father of her baby but like Joey said, this is not the time. Also I'd like proof he's the father and not from Salem University Hospital where the paternity tests are always wrong.

Chapter 12

SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
The machine on one of the patients was getting louder and faster by the moment. The crash cart had been rolled in. Daniel grabbed the paddles.
DANIEL: Charging.
He put the paddles down on the patient.
DANIEL: Clear!
No success. He did it a second time, and a third. Still no success. After the fourth time, Tommy put his hand on Daniel's shoulder. The patient had flatlined. Daniel put the paddles back on the machine, and they looked at each other.
TOMMY: Time of death, 2:23 a.m.

OUTSIDE THE DIMERA TUNNELS
CHAD: You really wanna do this?
ANDRE: You need to learn respect, Chad.
CASSIE: Tony, let him go.
CHAD: Yeah, listen to her. You really wanna do this in front of your kids?
ANDRE: My children already know who I am and what I'm like. Don't you?
REX: Of course we do.
CHAD: Oh, come on! Why can't you guys see it! Why can't you see that you're being played?
CASSIE: Oh, we're not. But you are.
CHAD: What?
Cassie and Rex smirked. They stood on either side of André.
REX: We've known all along who our father is.
CASSIE: And what he's capable of.
CHAD: Oh no. You...you mean you're...
ANDRE: My faithful children.
André put his sword away. Chad noticed that Bart, Rolf and Peter were no longer with them.
ANDRE: Take him.
Cassie and Rex grabbed Chad, knocked him out, and dragged him back to the DiMera Mansion. André watched on in mild amusement.

SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
Aiden, Hope, Shawn-D and Claire stood when they saw Tommy walk out of the OR and towards them. He had a grim look on his face.
AIDEN: Dr. Horton?
TOMMY: Aiden, your son is in recovery at the moment. He sustained a spinal injury, resulting in temporary paralysis.
AIDEN: Will he be able to walk again?
TOMMY: Given time and physical therapy, he should, yes.
AIDEN: Thank you, doctor.
TOMMY: You may go and see him. He's in Room 194.
Aiden walked away.
SHAWN-D: Uncle Tommy, how's Belle?
TOMMY: My daughter and Dr. Banning are still seeing to her. However, last I checked, she appeared to be getting better.
CLAIRE: Well, that's good news.
TOMMY: Yes. Unfortunately, this next bit of news is not so good.
He looked solemly at Hope.
HOPE: Roman?
TOMMY: I'm sorry, Hope. We did everything we could, but we weren't able to save him. His injuries were too severe. Roman's gone.
Caroline and Eric had walked into the room at that moment. Both drew a deep gasp and held onto each other for support.

Omg nooooooo:'( Though I'm glad it's not Chase, I hate to lose Roman. Praying that it turns out the real Roman is alive and well elsewhere.

Thursday's episode was filled with one cliffhannger after another!

Friday's episode was even more suspenseful, if that's even possible. I was stunned that Cassie and Rex are in cahoots with Andre. Poor Chad!

And OMG Roman is gone. My heart is breaking for Caroline.

Can't wait for Monday. Must have previews.

Chapter 13

SALEM UNIVERSITY HOPSITAL
Kimberly, Max and Frankie were all still in town from when they'd come last December. They, Kayla, John, Marlena, Lucas and Will had joined Eric and Caroline at the hospital.
KAYLA: Has anyone informed Carrie?
JOHN: We did on our way over here.
MAX: What about Sami?
LUCAS: Sami. Oh, god, how are we gonna tell Sami?
WILL: I took care of it, dad. She's getting herself and the kids packed up.
MARLENA: I just can't believe this is really happening. It's like some terrible dream.
Meanwhile, Hope was on the phone. She was walking towards the front door.
HOPE: I know, chief. I'll do what I can until you figure things out. But there's another issue I wanted to tell you about.
Pause.
HOPE: We're on Melaswen.
Pause.
HOPE: Yes, Melaswen. Only this time, I have no idea how long we've been here. Or if we even ever left, to begin with.
Pause.
HOPE: Yes, I think it should be brought up at the press conference.
Pause.
HOPE: Okay. Bye.

OUTSIDE SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
After a short period of time, Hope was standing outside of the hospital, a camera crew in front of her. The camera pointed in her direction.
CAMERA MAN: Action!
HOPE: This is Detective Hope Brady of the Salem P.D., giving a short statement about the events of this morning and late last night. At aproximately 10:20 last night, our town was rocked by an explosion. An explosion which has caused countless damage to our town. An explosion that has put several people in critical condition. An explosion which...which has claimed the life of my friend and co-worker, Commissioner Roman Brady. This matter will be investigated, as there is some suspcion of foul play. I will be leading the investigation until such time as a new Police Commissioner is appointed. I ask that you please cooperate with us, as we are trying our best to get to the bottom of the matter. If anyone watching this knows anything about the cause of this disaster, I ask that you, please, come forward.
Hope hesitated.
HOPE: There is one other matter that I must speak to you about.

DIMERA MANSION
André, Rex and Cassie were watching Hope's statement from the basement of the mansion.
ANDRE: What is she doing?
HOPE (on TV): A matter which some people may not want me to talk about, but I need to. I believe you need to know the truth.
Hope hesitated again.
HOPE (on TV): We're not really in Salem. I don't know how, and I don't know when this happened, but somehow we are on Melaswen. Melaswen, for the few of you who may not know, is an island in the tropics that was made to look exactly like Salem in every way. An island owned and created by the DiMeras.
André turned off the TV and stood up.
ANDRE: Dammit!
CASSIE: Do you want us to go after her, father?
André took a deep breath, then smirked.
ANDRE: No. No, stay here and make sure that Rolf makes good progress on Chad. I have...other matters to attend to. I will deal with Hope Brady when the time comes.

Uh oh. What's Andre up to now?

I'm still heartbroken about Roman.
