DIMERA MANSION
Tony and Anna walked in, followed closely by Austin and Carrie.
ANNA: Here we are! Home sweet home!
TONY: Yes. As lovely as the ceremony and party were, it’s always nice to be back.
CARRIE: Thank you again for letting us come with you via the jet, Tony.
TONY: Of course. Carrie, you and Austin are family. We were thrilled that you joined us.
ANNA: We sure were!
AUSTIN: Well, we appreciate it.
CARRIE: I’m gonna call Dad and see if Noah’s driven him crazy yet.
ANNA: Oh, it’ll be so good to see that boy again! It’s just a shame that you two can’t spend more time in Salem.
CARRIE: It is, but Austin and I both need to work. As soon as we get more time off, we’ll plan a trip out here again.
AUSTIN: Yeah.
CARRIE: I’ll be right back.
Carrie walked into another room.
TONY: Well, I don’t wish to run, but I think we should get a start on unpacking.
He turned to Austin.
TONY: It’s been nice spending some time together this weekend. Please stop by before you leave.
AUSTIN: We will, for sure. And thanks again, for everything.
Tony and Austin shook hands.
ANNA: I’ll be there in a moment, darling.
Tony walked up the stairs. Austin and Anna sighed.
AUSTIN: Well, apart from the way things ended, it was a great weekend.
ANNA: It was. And I am suitably impressed that you kept your word.
AUSTIN: Of course I did. Anna, I told you before we left, I love Carrie. Nothing is ever gonna change that.
ANNA: Well, I’m sure seeing Greta must have brought back some old memories.
AUSTIN: It did, yes, but that’s all they are, memories. It was nice catching up with her, but it doesn’t go any further than that.
ANNA: I’m glad to hear it. I know that Tony is a pacifist, and on most things, I agree with him. However, when it comes to my daughter, if you hurt her, I will hurt you.
AUSTIN: That’s not gonna happen. Carrie and I, we’ve been together a long time. We’ve both made mistakes, but we’ve moved on from those and become a stronger couple because of it.
ANNA: Good. Just know that there is nothing I won’t do to protect my daughter.
Carrie walked in.
CARRIE: What about your daughter?
HORTON HOUSE
Jennifer and Marie hugged.
MARIE: It’s so good to have you home, darling!
JENNIFER: Thank you, Aunt Marie. It’s good to be home!
MARIE: How was your trip?
JENNIFER: It was…spectacular! Frankie and I had the best time! The ceremony was beautiful, and the party after was amazing!
MARIE: That’s wonderful! I’m so glad that you had a good time.
JENNIFER: I did. I really did.
MARIE: Well, you’ve certainly been missed around here. I know your father will be thrilled to have you back.
JENNIFER: Yeah, it’ll be good to see him, too. It’s good to be home.
LOFT
Jade walked into the apartment complex. It was her day off, and while Emmy was at preschool, Jade had decided to use the day to get things done. She whistled casually as she walked to the mailbox and opened it. As she got into the elevator, she looked through the small stack of mail, which was mostly junk. At the very back was an official looking envelope.
JADE (thinking): Wonder what this is.
She turned it over and saw that it came from the Salem County Court. She raised an eyebrow. The elevator door opened. Jade got out and walked down the hall to her apartment. Once inside, she sat down the rest of the mail and opened the letter. As she read, her facial expression changed from confused to shocked.
JADE: Oh, hell no!
BLACK PATCH
Steve and John shook hands.
STEVE: Good to have you back, partner.
JOHN: Good to see you up on your feet again.
STEVE: Yeah, you know nothin’s gonna keep me down for long. Since the doc took me off the crutches the day before Christmas, I’ve been feelin’ better than ever.
JOHN: Glad to hear it.
STEVE: So, what’s on your mind?
John raised an eyebrow.
JOHN: Am I that obvious?
STEVE: Only ‘cause I know you, dude. I may only have one eye, but that don’t mean I don’t see a lot.
John sighed.
JOHN: I assume you heard about what happened at the party after the ceremony.
STEVE: Yeah, I sure did. I’m real sorry to hear about what went down, dude.
Steve patted John on the shoulder.
JOHN: Thanks. Thing is, my stop in Salem is gonna be short. I’ve got a hunch about who’s behind all of this, and Shane’s just given me the go-ahead to look into it, so I’m going on a trip for a couple days.
Steve nodded.
STEVE: You want some company on this trip you’re goin’ on?
JOHN: I wouldn’t mind it, if you think you can get away.
STEVE: Oh, I don’t think that’ll be a problem. Billie just got back earlier today, and Joy and Carver have been doin’ great work while you two were gone. I’ll talk it over with them, and as long as Billie doesn’t mind overseeing things for a couple days, I’d be glad to join you.
JOHN: That’d be great, man.
Steve and John shook hands again and gave each other a bro hug. Joy walked in, carrying her tablet.
JOY: John, welcome back. I’m sorry about…
JOHN: Thanks. Good to see you, Joy.
JOY: I took a look at the picture of the dart that you sent me, and I've been able to track down its origin.
Joy handed her tablet to John. He looked it over.
JOHN: Yep, that’s about what I thought. Thanks, Joy.
Joy nodded.
