Thursday - 11/25 - Thanksgiving 2021
MARTIN HOUSE
All of the Hortons who were living in Salem had gathered together and were either talking, or helping with food.
TOMMY: If there’s one thing I’m thankful for, it’s that I’m getting to spend more time getting to know my surviving brother and sister again. And that my relationship with my eldest daughter is getting repaired.
SANDY: I feel the same, Dad.
MARIE: Here, here!
LILY: How’d the baseball season go?
Mattie shrugged.
MATTIE: We did okay. Better than we were expected to, with it being our first year as an official team and all. Still, it’s early days.
Lily nodded.
BILL: Keeping out of trouble, I should hope?
JEREMY: I’m doing my best, Grandpa, even if no one believes me.
BILL: Nobody said they don’t believe you.
JEREMY: They don’t have to.
BILL: Well, I know of a number of people who believe in you. Myself, your mother and father, your Uncle Lucas, everyone here. We’re a family, Jeremy, and we’ll be here whenever you need anything.
BENNY: I just got off the phone with Dad. He says Happy Thanksgiving to everybody and wishes he could be here, but he plans to come up at Christmas.
ADDIE: That’ll be great!
Julie sighed as she surveyed the scene.
STEVEN: Everything okay, Jules?
JULIE: Oh, I’m fine. I love the holidays, but this time of year always makes me think of Grandma and Grandpa.
Doug put an arm around her.
DOUG: There’s no one quite like Tom and Alice. They would be so pleased to see so many Hortons together in one place.
Doug and Julie kissed.
DIMERA MANSION
Tony and Anna, Chad, Abby and Thomas, E.J. and Hawk were taking their places at the table.
ANNA: This looks wonderful!
TONY: Indeed. Cook has outdone himself once again. Please, take a seat everyone.
Everyone sat down and began filling their plates.
CHAD: Gotta say, one of the things I’m thankful for is getting a chance to know you, Steven.
HAWK: Thanks. It’s nice getting to know you all, as well.
E.J.: You have a sister, don’t you?
HAWK: I do, yes.
E.J.: I’m rather surprised she isn’t joining us.
HAWK: She’s with our mother. The two of them are celebrating with Steve and Kayla this year.
E.J.: Interesting.
Tony cleared his throat.
TONY: Shall we say grace?
ABBY: Let’s.
KIRIAKIS MANSION
BRADY: Thanks for having me over, Grandad.
VICTOR: Don’t mention it. You’re a Κυριάκης. There’s nowhere else I’d rather have you on a holiday. Speaking of which, not that I mind paying for your room, but you can’t live at the Salem Inn forever. Isn’t it about time you moved in?
BRADY: I’ll definitely consider it. I’m still getting my bearings, honestly.
VICTOR: I should think your bearings would come back better if you were here, rather than in a drab hotel room.
MAGGIE: Well, the important thing is that you’re here now.
ADRIENNE: I love the dress you and Philip picked out for Dani!
MELANIE: Thank you!
PHILIP: How are you liking Salem so far?
JULIETTE: It’s very nice. Different from Dubai, but nice.
VIC: I knew you’d love it.
JUSTIN: So, the engagement was announced a few months ago, when should we expect a wedding date?
VERONICA: Well, that’s really up to Jody and Vic.
JODY: You’ll know soon, Dad. We won’t leave you in suspense for too much longer.
ALAMAIN MANSION
Vivian and Nicholas were eating dinner.
VIVIAN: Well, I am happy to announce that the time has come for my full-time return back here.
NICHOLAS: So, you and André are over?
VIVIAN: For all intents and purposes, yes.
Nicholas sighed with relief.
NICHOLAS: I’m glad to hear that. Honestly, Aunt Viv, I don’t know what you saw in him.
VIVIAN: Well, there’s no need to worry, my dear Nicky. Auntie Vivian is back, and things are going to be very different from here on out.
DANIEL & NICOLE’S APARTMENT
Nicole and Daniel were working together in the kitchen.
NICOLE: Thanks again for agreeing to have dinner here. Not that I won’t miss another year of sparring with Victor, but…
DANIEL: Nicole, I know, I know how much this means to you. I am more than happy to spend the day with you, Parker, Jade and Emmy.
NICOLE: Me too. It’s nice to finally have a sister that I don’t want to kill every time she’s around.
Parker walked in from the dining room.
PARKER: Table’s all set, Dad.
DANIEL: Thanks, buddy.
There was a knock at the door.
NICOLE: I’ll get it.
Nicole opened the door to see Jade and Emmy. Jade was carrying a pie.
NICOLE: Hey, you two!
EMMY: Auntie Nic!
Nicole pulled Emmy into a bear hug.
NICOLE: Oh, there’s my favorite niece!
JADE: I wasn’t sure what to bring, but I thought maybe a pie would be good.
PARKER: Pie’s great!
NICOLE: You can never have too much pie. Here, you can set it down in the kitchen.
JADE: Thanks. And thank you so much for having us over.
DANIEL: Of course. We’re glad to have you. You, Jade, you and Emmy are family.
JADE: I really appreciate you saying that. It’s nice to be part of a family.
MELISSA’S HOUSE - BALTIMORE, MARYLAND
HOPE: Cuz, are you sure there’s nothing we can help with?
MELISSA: Hope, I am absolutely sure. Between Sarah and I, we’ve got this covered.
SARAH: If only Mom could see us working as a team like this.
JENNIFER: She would be thrilled. And I’m sure she’ll love to see you two together when we FaceTime with her later.
HOPE: I just feel bad that neither Jennifer or I are doing much to help.
MELISSA: You’re here, that’s more than enough. Besides, the two of you have already set the table, which is really the only thing I needed done.
JENNIFER: And we did make some of Gram’s famous doughnuts for dessert.
HOPE: Good point.
The door opened and Nathan walked in with two pies in hand.
NATHAN: Did someone call for dessert? Because it has arrived!
JENNIFER: Nathan!
NATHAN: Hi, Jen, Hope. It’s good to see you!
HOPE: You too! Here, let me get those.
NATHAN: Thank you.
Hope took the pies from Nathan and set them down.
NATHAN: Something smells good in here.
SARAH: Thanks.
Sarah wiped her hands on a towel and hugged Nathan.
SARAH: Good to see you, kid.
NATHAN: You too, Aunt Sarah. I’m glad you guys came up.
JENNIFER: So are we. This is something we’ve wanted to do for ages.
MELISSA: And now we’re finally doing it.
BRADY PUB
The Bradys, Carvers, and several others had gathered together at the Pub.
SONIA: Thanks again for the invitation.
STEVE: Are you kiddin’? We’re just glad to have you and the kids here in Salem full time!
KAYLA: It’s good to see you again.
ANDREW: You too, Aunt Kayla.
KAYLA: I’m glad you’re here, especially for Theresa.
ANDREW; Well, Thanksgiving’s all about family, and my sister needs me.
Stephanie walked over to Theresa.
STEPHANIE: Hey.
THERESA: Hi.
STEPHANIE: I don’t mean to pry, but did I see you hanging out with Jeremy Horton back around Halloween?
Theresa sighed.
THERESA: Please don’t tell me he sent you to try and get me to talk to him again.
STEPHANIE: What? No. Hell no. Even if he did, I would never in a million years try to convince anyone to be involved with him.
THERESA: Whoa. Sounds like there’s some bad blood there.
STEPHANIE: You can say that again.
THERESA: You and I might need to talk later, then. The holiday probably isn’t the best time to do it, but soon.
STEPHANIE: Sounds good.
CHASE: It’s our first Thanksgiving together.
CLAIRE: Yep. The first of many.
CHASE: I am so thankful to have you by my side.
CLAIRE: Me too. Always.
CIARA: Sounds like our Moms are having a good time out in Baltimore.
J.J.: That’s awesome. I’m glad they, Sarah and Melissa were able to get together.
CHLOE: Thanks for inviting Joy and I.
BELLE: Of course. It’s so good to have you in town for Thanksgiving!
A short time later, everyone sat down. Kayla, Roman, John, Max and Chelsea all helped bring out dishes of food.
CHELSEA: All right. Now, we have got a lot of food here! But, before we all fill our plates, Eric, would you please lead us in prayer?
ERIC: Thank you, I’d be happy to.
Eric stood up.
ERIC: Everyone, please take the hand of the person on either side of you.
Everyone took the hands of the people sitting next to them and bowed their heads.
ERIC: Almighty God our Father...
MONTAGE
As Eric prayed, we see various families around Salem (and around the country) celebrating Thanksgiving. (
CLICK HERE to listen to some music during the prayer.) Tony raised his glass for a toast.
ERIC: ...your generous goodness comes to us new every day.
Hawk joined everyone at the Brady Pub, taking a seat between Sonia and Peyton.
ERIC: By the work of Your Spirit lead us to acknowledge your goodness…
Nicole, Daniel, Jade, Parker and Emmy were building gingerbread houses. Nicole and Jade were helping Emmy, while Daniel and Parker were working on one together.
ERIC: ...give thanks for your benefits…
Hope, Jennifer, Melissa, Sarah and Nathan held hands as they began to eat dinner.
ERIC: ...and serve you in willing obedience.
Everyone sat down at the Kiriakis dinner table. Victor gave a toast, and Jody and Vic started telling stories about their time in Dubai.
BRADY PUB
ERIC: Through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.
ALL: Amen.
MAX: All right. Thank you, Eric. Dig in!
MARTIN HOUSE
Now the Hortons were all having dinner. The food had been brought out, and as everyone sat down, Doug stood up and raised his glass.
DOUG: Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!
ALL: Happy Thanksgiving!
