BRADY PUB
Hope, Jennifer and Sarah were sitting down to breakfast.
HOPE: I am so glad that we’re doing this!
JENNIFER: Me too!
SARAH: Yeah, it feels like forever since we’ve gotten together!
HOPE: Well, after the night I’ve had, I definitely needed it.
JENNIFER: What’s going on, cuz?
Hope sighed.
HOPE: I can’t go into too much detail, but last night, there was a murder. One of the students at the University.
SARAH: Oh man!
JENNIFER: Do you have any idea who did it?
HOPE: Not yet. We have one potential lead, but even that’s an iffy one.
SARAH: Well, hopefully you’ll find who did it quickly. That’s so sad that it’s one of the University students.
Hope nodded.
HOPE: It is. But, let’s discuss happier things.
JENNIFER: Like our upcoming trip to Baltimore!
SARAH:: Right. So, the plan is to leave on the Monday, take our time driving to Baltimore, and celebrate Thanksgiving with Melissa and Nathan!
HOPE: As well as spend that Friday in town, leaving Saturday afternoon and getting back sometime on Sunday.
JENNIFER: Sounds good to me! This is going to be so much fun!
HOPE: It’ll be great to have us all together again!
SARAH: Yeah. Just one thing, though. With the whole murder investigation, are you gonna be able to come, Hope?
DIMERA MANSION
Johnny came out of his room and walked down the hall. He was about to knock on a door when Harold, holding a bag of clean clothes walked up to him.
HAROLD: Master Johnny, how lucky to run into you. I have Miss Meadow’s clothing all cleaned for you.
JOHNNY: Thank you, Harold. I’ll take them to her.
Harold handed Johnny the bag.
HAROLD: Very good, sir. Oh, one more thing, your father, uncles and aunts are about to have breakfast. Shall I set a place for you and Miss Meadow, as well?
JOHNNY: You can if you want to, sure, but I don’t know how soon we’ll be down.
HAROLD: Quite all right, sir.
JOHNNY: Thanks.
Harold bowed and walked away. Johnny knocked on the door.
MEADOW: Come in.
Johnny walked in, closing the door behind him. Meadow was fully dressed in jeans and a long-sleeve shirt.
JOHNNY: Morning.
MEADOW: Morning. One of the maids brought me some clothes this morning.
JOHNNY: Yeah, Harold was having your costume from last night cleaned. Thankfully, you and my Aunt Abby are about the same size. Does everything fit okay?
MEADOW: Yeah.
Johnny set the clothes down, then sat down next to Meadow.
JOHNNY: Were you able to get any sleep?
Meadow shrugged.
MEADOW: A little, I guess. Thanks again for letting me stay over.
JOHNNY: No problem. I’m here for whatever you need.
MEADOW: I appreciate it.
Meadow kissed Johnny softly on the cheek.
JOHNNY: You feeling up to breakfast?
MEADOW: I could probably try to eat something, yeah. Lead the way.
Johnny stood up and held out his hand. Meadow took it, he helped her stand up, and arm in arm, they walked downstairs. When they got to the dining room, they found E.J., Tony, Anna, Chad and Abby were already there.
JOHNNY: Morning, everyone.
E.J.: Good morning, son. And Meadow. I wasn’t expecting to see you this early.
MEADOW: I hope it’s okay that I’m here.
E.J.: Yes, of course. I’m just slightly surprised, is all.
TONY: You’ll have to forgive my little brother. Despite all of the grooming and posh British boarding schools, he apparently never learned manners. It’s nice to see you again, Meadow.
MEADOW: Again? Oh, right. You were at Johnny’s graduation.
CHAD: We also briefly met around last Christmas.
MEADOW: Right. I really don’t remember much about that.
She turned to Abby.
MEADOW: Miss DiMera, I’m really sorry about...you know, what happened last year.
ABBY: Don’t worry about it, that was a long time ago. It’s not the first time something like that’s happened. Take a seat, have some breakfast.
Johnny and Meadow sat down and began serving themselves food.
TONY: That was quite a fun party last night.
ANNA: It certainly was. Did you kids have a good time?
JOHNNY: Yeah, the party was great!
Meadow casually nudged her food around her plate.
E.J.: Did you hear about what happened at the university last night? There wasa a murder on campus. Frankly, I’m glad you two were at the party and not there.
Meadow pushed her chair back.
MEADOW: Excuse me.
She quickly left the room.
