SALEM UNIVERSITY
Allie had met with Christy, Dr. Clayton’s nurse, and showed her where the remains of the mother cat were. Christy gently put the remains in a bag as Allie watched.
CHRISTY: Thanks for showing me.
ALLIE: No problem. Thanks for coming to take care of her.
CHRISTY: Of course.
ALLIE: That poor kitten, though, losing her mom like that. How is she?
CHRISTY: She’s good. We got her some food and a place to sleep, and she’s starting to look better already.
ALLIE: That’s good. If you find out anything about the owner, could you let me know, please?
CHRISTY: Sure. Either myself or one of the other nurses will give you a call.
ALLIE: Thanks.
Christy nodded.
CHRISTY: Thanks again for your help. Have a good day.
ALLIE: You too.
Christy headed for her car as Allie went back inside of the main building.
DIMERA MANSION
Since being reunited, the DiMera triplets had returned to the Mansion, but were only coming out of their room one at a time, so as not to arouse suspicion. It was Bria’s turn to be out, and she came across E.J. as she walked around.
E.J.: Ah, Luna. I’ve been looking for you.
BRIA: Oh? Well, it seems you’ve found me. What can I do for you, Elvis?
E.J.: It’s E.J., please. Only André, my mother and my late father get to call me by my full name.
BRIA: My apologies. I should know that by now, but you know how forgetful I can be sometimes.
E.J.: Yes, well...anyway, I need to speak to you about something.
BRIA: What’s on your mind?
E.J. gestured to a door. Bria opened it and the two walked in.
E.J.: I need to know, Luna, and I want the truth, have you been speaking to Vivian?
BRIA: Vivian? As in André’s wife, Vivian?
E.J.: Yes, that Vivian.
BRIA: Of course I haven’t. What business would I have speaking with her?
E.J.: That’s exactly what I’d like to know.
SALEM HIGH SCHOOL
Sydney and Silver walked down the hall to their first class of the day.
SILVER: My Mom said yes to you coming over tonight.
SYDNEY: Awesome! So did my Mom and Lucas!
SILVER: That’s great! I’m so glad we’re gonna have a sleepover!
SYDNEY: Me too! I’ve missed hanging out with you so much!
SILVER: So have I! This’ll give us the perfect opportunity to discuss what our ground rules should be.
SYDNEY: Yep! And for you to show me at least an episode of that Anne with an E show you mentioned the other day.
SILVER: I’d love that!
KIRIAKIS MANSION
John had stopped over to give Victor and Maggie the news. Philip and Melanie were also in the room. Melanie let out a sob. Maggie put her arms around her.
PHILIP: Do we have any idea how it happened?
JOHN: It was a drowning. Two college age kids found him while they were taking a late night swim.
PHILIP: So no evidence of foul play? Or...other things?
JOHN: We’re still waiting for the official report, but his tox screen was clear.
MELANIE: I just can’t believe it!
MAGGIE: I know, darling. I know.
Maggie kissed Melanie’s forehead.
MAGGIE: He knew how much we loved him.
PHILIP: Not according to Theresa.
JOHN: Theresa is grieving.
VICTOR: We all are. He may not have been the real Brady, but for thirteen years, he’s been a grandson to me. Yet the rest of us aren’t sitting around hurling accusations at each other.
MAGGIE: Perhaps not, but everyone processes grief differently. I’m not saying I agree with anything that Theresa’s been saying since things came to light, but she’ll need support now more than ever.
VICTOR: You have the patience of a saint, my dear.
JOHN: I’ll let you know when the coroner's report is finished. Where are Justin and Adrienne? They still live here, right?
MAGGIE: They do, but they and the twins went to have brunch with Sonny and Will.
John nodded.
VICTOR: John, once you’ve gotten all of the arrangements in place, send the bill to me. I’ll have it taken care of.
JOHN: That won’t be-
VICTOR: It most certainly will be necessary. As I said, for nearly a decade and a half, the man was a grandson to me. Whether he was related to me biologically or not doesn’t change that fact. I only wish I hadn’t been so hasty in some of the things I said to him the last time we spoke. But we can’t dwell on what’s happened now. The least we can do is give him a proper funeral, and I trust that you’ll have it done tastefully.
JOHN: I appreciate that, Victor.
PHILIP: This might not be the best time to ask this, but have you been able to get in contact with the Bates family yet?
JOHN: We’re still working on that, but we have a lead.
John’s phone buzzed.
JOHN: I need to go. I’ll let you know when I know more.
MAGGIE: Thank you, John.
LOFT
Chase was putting on his coat when Claire walked in with the day's mail in her hands.
CLAIRE: Hey.
CHASE: Hey.
They kissed.
CHASE: Anything good in the mail?
CLAIRE: We’re about to find out. Looks like mostly junk, but we’ll see.
She flipped through the mail, but stopped when she came to an envelope that was heavier than the others. It had golden trimming along the edges. She flipped it over.
CHASE: Looks like more than just junk. What’s that you’ve got there?
CLAIRE: I don’t know, but take a look at this.
Chase walked over and looked at the envelope.
CHASE: Looks like some kind of seal. It’s got a coat of arms and everything.
CLAIRE: Yeah. It must be important. Only one way to find out.
Claire opened the envelope and pulled out a thick piece of paper.
CLAIRE: Oh, wow!
