Chapter 439
HOPE & AIDEN’S HOUSE
Ciara adjusted her silver dress slightly. Claire, wearing a sparkly purple dress walked in.
CLAIRE: Wow. Look at you!
CIARA: Look at you, too! You’re gorgeous!
CLAIRE: Aw, thanks! So are you! Hey, can you zip me?
CIARA: Of course.
Claire turned around and moved her hair out of the way as Ciara helped her with her dress.
CLAIRE: Thanks.
CIARA: No problem. So, you ready?
CLAIRE: Totally! You?
CIARA: Yep. Tonight is gonna be awesome!
DIMERA MANSION
Tony and Anna were sitting down to dinner.
TONY: Darling, as much as I love being back, there is still one thing that’s troubling me.
ANNA: What’s that?
TONY: What happened for all the months that I was gone? I mean, you’re always the first to figure out when André’s taken over my life.
ANNA: Ah, that. Well, of course, I would have liked to have figured it out sooner, had I been able to. However, to be honest, I was barely home the last few months. You remember me telling you that I’d have to go on a business trip to Switzerland first thing in the morning after the party?
TONY: I do, yes.
ANNA: Well, I did. There was a major crisis at Anna DiMera Designs. While there, I, of course, stopped in to see Carrie, Austin and Noah.
TONY: Naturally.
ANNA: Turns out, they needed a little help, so I volunteered to stay. When I called home and spoke to André, who let’s not forget, I believed at the time to be you, he said it sounded like a splendid idea. Of course, I didn’t know at the time that he was trying to keep me occupied so I wouldn’t come home and figure out what was going on.
TONY: Of course.
ANNA: Once I was sure Carrie and Austin were doing okay, I came home and, well, you know the story from there. My love, you must know, had I known any sooner, I would have raced off to find you.
Tony smiled and took Anna’s hand.
TONY: I know, my dear. And I am more grateful than I can say that we have been reunited.
Tony and Anna kissed.
SALEM HIGH
That evening, the gymnasium of Salem High was packed with students. Ciara, Trix, Claire, Chase, Joey and Theo had all come together as a group.
CLAIRE: This is so beautiful!
Ciara nodded. At last, Mr. Woods made his way up to the stage. He picked up the microphone and put up his hand. Everyone fell silent.
WOODS: Good evening, Salem High!
A few people clapped.
WOODS: Oh, come on. I know you can do better than that. I said “Good evening, Salem High!”
The gym erupted with the sound of cheers and claps.
WOODS: Much better! Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to your 2018 Last Blast Dance! Are you ready to have a good time tonight?
More claps and cheers.
WOODS: Excellent! Now, before we begin, I just want to say a few words. Tonight is your night. It is a celebration of all of the hard work you’ve put in over the last year. As always, the dance contest will be coming up later in the night. Above all, have a fun. Now, let’s get this dance started!
Mr. Woods got down from the stage and the music started.

CLAIRE: I love this song!
CHASE: Well, my beautiful Songbird, let’s dance.
Claire and Chase, as well as many of the other students, made their way onto the dancefloor.
