Chapter 21
NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR: The Doctor Who Experience is a (slightly interactive) museum based around the British science fiction series Doctor Who, which is about a man who travels through time and space in a blue box that is bigger on the inside than it is on the outside. The show has been running since 1963, and there are (at time of writing) thirteen actors who have played the Doctor. However, because this is set in the future (Summer of 2029 to be precise) I have taken a bit of creative liscensing, as no one really knows what the future may hold).
DOCTOR WHO EXPERIENCE
Ceri and Sydney spent a lot of time looking at things around the Doctor Who Experience. They were currently in front of a huge
row of Daleks.
SYDNEY: Looks like almost every Dalek varient there is.
CERI: Almost. The
Spider Dalek is out at the moment, but there's a space for it.
SYDNEY: I just think it's cool that they have the
Special Weapons Dalek.
They walked a little farther to a
row of Cybermen.
CERI: Okay, the
original Cybermen are creepy.
Sydney looked at the model Ceri was looking at.
SYDNEY: Yeah, that's bizarre! The current
Cyber Leader is cool, though.
CERI: True.
SYDNEY: And then there's the
Cybermats.
CERI: Those are kinda cute.
SYDNEY: The ones from the early 2000s, maybe. But, not the
old ones.
CERI: They're supposed to look like bugs.
SYDNEY: They succeeded.
As they rounded a corner, they saw the
man from earlier.
CERI (whispering): That's him!
SYDNEY (whispering): Oh wow! It really is!
He was looking at the display of the
suits that various incarnations of the Doctor had worn. The one he was staring at at the moment belonged to the Tenth Doctor.
SYDNEY (whispering): Go say hi.
CERI (whispering): What?
SYDNEY (whispering): If he is who we think he is, he's one of your favorite actors. Go say hi.
CERI (whispering): Do you think I should?
SYDNEY (whispering): Totally!
Then, they saw the man walking towards them.
MAN: Hello, ladies.
SYDNEY: Hi.
CERI: You're him, aren't you? You're Captain Jack Harkness...I mean, you're John Barrowman. But, you do play Captain Jack on TV.
JOHN: I certainly do. And, yes. I am.
CERI: Hi.
JOHN: Hello.
CERI: I'm Ceri. This is Sydney.
JOHN: Nice to meet you two.
Ceri and Sydney both shook hands with John.
SYDNEY: Thanks.
CERI: You too.
JACK: So, how are you liking the Doctor Who Experience so far?
CERI: It's awesome!
SYDNEY: It's really cool!
CERI: Um..I couldn't help but noticing...that's the coat, isn't it? The one that Captain Jack wears.
John looked at his coat.
JOHN: Yes, it is.
CERI: That is so cool that you got to keep it!
JOHN: Well, I do have a replica of it, but this is the one I use for filming. But, you didn't hear me say that.
CERI: You're filming something? As Captain Jack? Oh my gosh! Is it Doctor Who or a new season of Torchwood!
JOHN: I can't say. You didn't hear anything from me. The only thing I will say is this...
John looked around to see that no one was listening. He got close to Ceri and Sydney.
JOHN (whispering): The 21st century is when everything changes...and Torchwood is ready.
Ceri squealed a little in excitment. She and Sydney hugged.
CERI: This is so cool! Mr. Barrowman, I just want to say, I LOVE Torchwood! It's my favorite show!
JOHN: I'm glad to hear it. Have you seen the Torchwood exhibit yet?
SYDNEY: There's a Torchwood exhibit?
CERI: When did that happen?
JOHN: It's brand new. Come on.
The girls followed John Barrowman through the museum.
