Chapter 5
WOODED AREA
The next day, Ceri and Sydney were taking a walk by a wooded area. Sydney was carrying a backpack.
SYDNEY: Sucks that the house is gone.
CERI: Yeah. It's all right, though. I remember the spot where it is, because the field is still there.
SYDNEY: I can't wait to see this “golden” field.
CERI: Well, it'll just be a few minutes.
SYDNEY: Cool.
A few minutes later, they stopped walking. Before them was a large field, full of barley. Click

CERI: This is it.
The two gazed at the field.
SYDNEY: Wow. This is...this is beautiful.
CERI: I remember when we were kids, Rhiannon and I would chase each other through the fields until dad would call us in for dinner.
SYDNEY: Sounds like fun.
CERI: It was.
Sydney twirled a lock of her hair, and set down the backpack.
CERI: What are you thinking?
SYDNEY: Oh, nothing.
Sydney smiled, innocently.
SYDNEY: How about, the first one to the middle of the field and back has to pay for dinner tonight? If you get tagged, you have to wait for ten seconds.
Then, she tapped Ceri on the shoulder.
SYDNEY: You're it.
Sydney started running through the field.
CERI: Hey! Not fair!
After waiting ten seconds, Ceri started running after her. The two continued to play tag for a time, until they grew tired of running. Sydney sat down in the middle of the field, and then laid down. Ceri soon came up to her.
CERI: You okay?
SYDNEY: Yeah, I'm good. I'm just resting. Wanna join me?
Ceri laid down in the field next to Sydney, and drew her into a passionate kiss. The two laid their together for quite a while.
SYDNEY: This is so amazing.
CERI: Isn't it?
Sydney nodded.
SYDNEY: I wish I had grown up here. This place is beautiful.
CERI: It was nice growing up here. But, it's been nice growing up in Salem, as well. I mean, since I was 15, we've lived there.
SYDNEY: Yeah. I kinda wish I could live here, though.
CERI: Yeah?
SYDNEY: Yeah. Don't get me wrong, I love Salem. But, I don't know, I just think it might be kinda nice to live out here.
CERI: Maybe we can, someday.
SYDNEY: Yeah. I just don't ever want this to end. I want it to be like this forever. You and me, right here, right now.
CERI: Well, no matter where we live, or what we're doing, we will always be together.
SYDNEY: Always.
Sydney moved slightly closer to Ceri, and the two embraced.
SYDNEY (whispering): Thank you for showing me your fields of gold.
CERI (whispering): No problem. I just hope I did justice to it.
SYDNEY (whispering): You did. It's more beautiful than I could ever have imagined. But, the most beautiful part is being here, lying amongst the fields of gold with you.
Sydney and Ceri kissed.
