This sounds like it'll be romantic! Glad they're having two weddings! Thanks for the chapter, Kpatch!

I knew it! So happy for them both. Takes the pressure off the more public one to not have any hiccups.

Hi readers. Thanks for your enthusiasm and readership this week. Here’s a little sneak about next week.
What do you say we check in on Parker and see how he’s doing at Mary’s?

Chapter 53c
Back in Chicago….
Mary’s husband, Dick Van Dyke, was a retired high school teacher. He taught music and performing arts. He fancied himself a regular Mr. Holland. Every year, he was in charge of the school’s annual production. Even in retirement, he went back to help out on a volunteer basis.
Having Parker over for a long weekend was pure joy for Dick. Parker was like a student he was teaching for the first time. Everything was new and wondrous.
“Dick," Mary called as she walked into the living room of their high rise condo perusing the mail. "We got an invitation to Parker’s parents' wedding. It’s in six weeks.”
Dick clapped his hands and took Mary in his arms and danced her around the room like he was Fred Astaire. He dipped her and said, “I can’t wait to trip the light fantastic with you and dance at the wedding, my love.”
“What’s a light tastic?” Parker asked. “Is it a 'lectric show?”
Dick pulled Mary to her feet. Then he squatted down and tweaked Parker’s nose. “Nope. It’s an expression. It means dancing. Do you want to show Mary the dance we rehearsed?”
“K,” Parker said somewhat shyly.
Dick popped a CD into the CD player, then walked Mary backwards to the sofa. “Now you sit here, my love, and enjoy the show.” “Hope I can ‘member the steps.” Parker added. He started to put his thumb near his mouth when Dick grasped his hand.
“No need to worry, my boy. Just follow my lead. Four, three, two, one.”
