What are everyone's Christmas plans?
As I've mentioned probably too many times, I'm hosting a Christmas eve party.
Christmas day will be just me and Ron, opening a bezillion presents, and having a traditional holiday meal. Or maybe leftovers from Christmas eve. Haven't decided yet.

I am getting together with my ex-coworker/best friend tomorrow. It should be fun to catch up.
Our big family Christmas dinner is Christmas Eve. Christmas morning we go to my sister's for breakfast and presents with her family. We get back home in the early afternoon and relax. I am planning on a pot roast with the trimmings for dinner Christmas evening.

We will celebrate Christmas Eve at home. On Christmas Day we will go to my inlaws house. On the 27th we will celebrate with my dad, step mom, and aunt.

Christmas Eve, probably a movie with the kids, maybe going to see a house a few miles from us that has lights set to music on a radio station. Christmas Day, just us opening presents and having dinner. Then will probably head to my parents to open presents there on Saturday, weather-depending.

Aaron and I no longer celebrate Christmas, just the Jewish feasts/ordinances however I will be driving my cousin the one who is battling cancer to see her daughter in the nursing home. She is not Miss Suzy Homemaker but she is putting together a meal to take that they can share. We have a local butcher that has a ham loaf recipe and she is making that. I keep kosher so ham loaf is out. I will probably cook something and Aaron and I will eat beforehand. I know my cousin likes the Christmas pies they have at McDonald's that are custard with the sprinkles so I might get her a couple and I know her daughter likes jerky. She really needs protein to help her body heal so the jerky might even be a good thing... sort of.

Macaroni and cheese is prepped. Boy it's a lot of work making it from scratch. No wonder the blue box is so popular. Italian cheesecake is also made and out of the oven. I'm taking a break.

My mom always made mac n cheese from scratch with cooked elbows al dente drained with milk butter salt pepper, flour, and longhorn cheese. I think that is an old fashioned name for Colby. Then she baked it covered in the oven then left the top off the casserole a wee bit at the end to toast the top.

I went shopping this afternoon. Most drivers were courteous and the retail employees were all helpful and pleasant. I'm sure the 60 degree temperature helped with that.

It's nice when people are in the Christmas spirit fluffysmom! My mom always made mac n cheese from scratch with cooked elbows al dente drained with milk butter salt pepper, flour, and longhorn cheese. I think that is an old fashioned name for Colby. Then she baked it covered in the oven then left the top off the casserole a wee bit at the end to toast the top. That's similar to what I did. I made a double batch and the roue for the cheese sauce didn't quite work out but whatever. I used a mix of sharp cheddar and colby. Topped it off with breadcrumb/butter mixture. I tried it and it's missing something. It needs salt and I added salt to the cheese sauce. I was afraid to add too much. Maybe I'll top it off with more shredded cheese before I bake it tomorrow. I made two batches of Christmas Crack. Enough cooking for one day. Tomorrow I'll make the chicken picatta, rice, and brownies. And the appetizers are kind of last-minute.

Maybe it needs an herb of some sort to give it some interest. I am always throwing them in something they aren't supposed to be in.

I sauteed and caramelized onions and added them in. It gives the mixture a little sweetness and unexpected texture.

No, he makes whatever people want. He put himself through college as a bartender. We also have wine and beer and sometimes people help themselves and make their own mixed drinks. Never made the Star Puffs before. I was looking for something super easy and that looks like it, as long as I don't burn them.
