Why?!! Why, Why, Why??!! Did Sam finally tell someone about what Franco did to her and it had to be freaking John McBain?! That was such a Days-like stupid move - this is exactly the sort of thing I was concerned would happen with OLTL writers and refuges.
My suspicions of Ewan are back on high alert again after today's episode and his strangeness when talking about Jax.

I really don't like this Sam and John McBain stuff. Just because the two actors worked together on Port Charles the soap and were a popular couple should they automatically be allowed to share scenes together especially discussing personal issues. I hope that Jason finds out that Sam told John the secret of Franco being his twin brother before she told him and he goes off on her for not telling him first. I am not liking the writing for Sam at all right now and I hope that changes soon.
The whole Jax mention has me very intrigued. It seems that Jax and Ewen know each other.
I'm still enjoying the Patrick stuff immensely. I really liked Patrick and Matt's scenes together today.

That last scene with Patrick today was so sad but so relatable. After my mom passed one of the hardest things was when people who didn't know would ask about her... and considering that I live in a part of the world where "how's your mom and them" is usually the next thing people say after hello when they haven't seen you for a while, it happened a lot.
Jason's going to have a cow about Sam telling that cop the news first and this time I can't blame him. That was just a rude thing to do her husband, he deserved to know first, not some stranger.

I am really liking having Heather back on the show. Her scenes the other day with Olivia were hilarious with Olivia thinking that Heather was trying to drug her tea. I also liked her scenes with Luke and Anna. I laughed so hard when Luke thought that Heather was going to shoot Anna and he shielded her. It is so great to have the psycho bitch back and I can't wait to see what kind of trouble she is going to cause next.
The Kate and Carly confrontation was also very hilarious.
I loved the scenes the other day at the Quartermaine mansion where it was Tracy's birthday. It was so sweet to see Luke get Tracy a pony named Skittles when no one else got her a gift.

In light of all the bad news that is happening to Days, GH received great news that it will be around to celebrate it's 50th anniversary next year. I am so very excited that GH is going to make it to the big 50. GH so deserves it after all the effort that TPTB put in to make the show such a joy to watch these days and keep it from being cancelled. from daytime royalty daytimeroyaltyonline.com/topic/8674149/1/Soap fans can officially rejoice. DEADLINE is reporting that ABC has canceled THE REVOLUTION from the Daytime lineup, and keeps GENERAL HOSPITAL on the air. The show will continue to see its own 50th Anniversary, which is April 2013. Great news for all soap fans involved. www.deadline.com/2012/04/abc-the-revolution-cancelled-general-hospital-renewed-gma-afternoon/ABC Keeps ‘General Hospital’ On, Cancels ‘The Revolution’, Adds ‘GMA’ Afternoon Show For SummerSoap fans can rejoice — I’ve learned that ABC will keep its only remaining daytime drama General Hospital on the air while canceling freshman talk show The Revolution. The news ends months of speculation about what will happen to the venerable soap whose long-time 3 PM slot will be taken over by Katie Couric’s new syndicated talk show in the fall. With Katie joining ABC’s daytime lineup, General Hospital and new lifestyle series The Chew and The Revolution, which replaced canceled soaps All My Children and One Life To Live, have been competing for two slots, with Disney-ABC TV Group president Anne Sweeney stating early on that the two stronger performers will make the cut. Revolution, which currently occupies the 2 PM time period that will lead to Katie in most markets, never found its legs ratings-wise and will end its run at the beginning of July. For the following nine weeks, starting on July 9 until Katie premieres on Sept. 10, ABC will air a special Good Morning America-branded hourlong show alongside GH and The Chew. Details about new new program, tentatively titled GMA In The Afternoon, are still being finalized, but it is expected to be generally broader and lighter than the regular GMA unless there is a breaking story, which the afternoon show will jump on. The expansion of the GMA franchise comes as the morning program has been on a ratings roll, dramatically narrowing the gap with long-time ratings leader Today. GMA In The Afternoon is expected to feature personalities from the morning show and will also likely be used as a platform to break new talent. The reshuffling of ABC’s daytime deck, including the decision to stick with GH, represents the first major move by EVP Vicki Dummer, who took over ABC Daytime following the December departure of Brian Frons, the man responsible for the cancellations of AMC and OLTL. With The Revolution hitting a string of lows over the last few weeks and drawing a little more than half of the audience of GH and The Chew, it is understandable why ABC opted to keep GH, which is down year-to-year but still higher-rated than both The Chew and The Revolution, instead of angering fans by killing another beloved soap for a show that hasn’t proven itself. The renewal comes on the heels of GH drawing 2.26 million viewers for the week of March 26, a up a tenth from the previous week. The Chew (2.21 million) was up 8%, while The Revolution (1.33 million) remained low, in line with its series-low viewership for the previous two weeks (1.33 million, 1.32 million). What’s more, while The Chew‘s ratings have been largely on par with those of the soap it replaced, AMC, at a fraction of the production cost, The Revolution (average of 1.5 million viewers to date, 337,000 of them in the women 18-49 demographic) is down 44% in total viewers and 51% in W18-49 from OLTL‘s deliveries. Among the the three, GH is the highest rated in women 18-49 by a wide margin (most recently a 0.9/6 for the week of March 26 vs. 0.6/4 The Chew and 0.4/3 for The Revolution), so, while I hear ABC is not ready to lock in its daytime schedule for next season yet, it would make sense to keep The Chew at 1 PM and put GH at 2 PM as a lead-in for Katie on the ABC stations, the core station group that will carry Couric’s new syndicated talker. The renewal ensures that GH, which marked 49 years on the air on April 1, will celebrate its 50th anniversary next April. It is the longest-running U.S. soap opera currently in production. Created by husband-and-wife soap writers Frank and Doris Hursley, GH also holds the record for most Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Drama Series: 10. Source: Deadline.com

I will definitely keep watching until the show gets cancelled. It is hands down the best soap on the air right now and the new writer has done wonders with turning it around. I can't wait to see what is in store for it's 50th anniversary. This just made my night when I saw that someone over at DR mentioned that GH was renewed in the Day's firing thread.

I hope they make it past 50 also .... and I can't help but be as giddy about the Revolution crashing and burning as I am about GH continuing. I've grown to resent ABC/Disney and want all of their projects to fail until they give up the war against soaps.

I really hope that this new replacement show for the Revolution really fails. I would hate to see it really take off in the ratings and then all of a sudden ABC decides to cancel General Hospital after all because it is cheaper to produce this afternoon GMA spinoff then it is to produce GH. If after GH's contract is up and ABC wants to do something different with GH, I at least hope that they don't cancel the soap altogether and instead just make it a half hour show instead of a hour show. I could deal with the half hour format since a lot of times these days I find it hard to sit down for a couple of hours every day just to watch Days and GH both. B&B is a half hour soap and it actually does really good in the ratings probably since it is so short and viewers don't have to invest a lot of time into watching it.

I don't know why it's so hard for them to grasp the fact that there are numerous 24 hour news stations, 24 hour cooking stations, 24 hour fitness stations, 24 hour style stations and a slew of various talk shows at all times of the day and night on nearly every channel ... why would anyone make a point of tuning in to see another one of any of those in the daytime. The one thing that ABC, NBC and CBS have over all of the hundreds of cable channels are the soap operas that have survived 40+ years through all the changing fads and times and still have devoted followings. Those are the shows that people will make a point to see everyday.

So I've only watched sparingly over the past few months but seriously?!?! I thought the whole Franco thing was over. Why do they have to bring him back to the surface with the whole Jason's twin thing and now he's the bio father of Sam's baby?!? Ugh....this is hideous. And of course this whole thing is yet another lie from Sam to Jason. Are they trying to break them up???
Maybe the longtime viewers can fill me in, but am I correct in assuming that whatsherface playing Steve's mom is not the original actress? I'm pretty sure he's not the original actor playing Steve. Sorry, but I'm just having a hard time seeing her as his mother. There doesn't seem to be enough of an age difference.
I am enjoying what I've seen of this Connie/Kate stuff. I was really starting to hate this new actress they have in this role but this has actually been pretty interesting.

I thought when the new writers took over that this whole Franco mess would be done with too. I am really losing interest in this storyline and only care a little bit about what this means for Jason and the Quartermaines. I could care less about Franco being the father of Sam's baby and I am really getting irritated with watching Sam lie to Jason about what is going on. At this point I don't even care anymore if Sam and Jason breakup and I don't even care if Sam has her baby. It seems like the writers are using this to break up Sam and Jason and to put her with John McBain since the two actors were on Port Charles together and were paired up on that soap.
The actress who plays Heather is the original actress but Scott Reeves is not the original Steve. Reeves took over in 2009 as Steve. I really like watching crazy Heather wreck havoc all over Port Charles.
I like Connie too but I am really getting tired of Sonny altogether and am ready for his character to leave the show.

I'm almost two weeks behind (because of a heavier work schedule) but I was already hating the writing for Jason and Sam both .... and I still don't care about John McBain. He and Sonny can both leave Port Charles for all I care.
