I know I stopped watching the day Philip left I just really had no desire to tune in. When I found out Chloe was leaving as well I thought now they're really gonna loose a huge fanbase. But I will never truly give up hope on Phloe. Us fans really have a lot of power I didn't used to think so but now I know for sure that we do. If we just keep voicing our opinion and continue our boycott hopefully Days will wise up and hire back Nadia and Jay along with the original writers that wrote for Phloe from 2000-2002. I'll keep by fingers crossed but I am not a Days viewer anymore.

I have been watching Days since almost the beginning. Characters/Actors have come & gone... I have never watched because of any one in particular, I watched because it was Days and I will continue to watch until it ends. Then I will cry my eyes out since it will feel like I lost a member of my family.

I have watched for almost 27 years and won't stop now. Man that makes me feel even older than 40. The new writers were here 10 years ago so at least they were some part of Phloe's early time on Days. That gives me hope that they will want to bring them back.

I don't want the whole show to be about Phloe; I don't even want the whole show to be about Lumi. For Days to survive, it has to focus on the show as a whole, not what any one fanbase may or may not want. I started watching Days as a kid in the mid-80s and even though there were some rocky times here and there, the show always rebounded so I always stuck with it .... until Feb. 2010. That was the final straw for me (and obviously a lot of other viewers left starting around that time since the number of total viewers dropped by nearly a million between Feb-Aug 2010). I stopped watching Days on a regular basis with Bryan Datillo's exit, but it was a long time in coming before then. I still catch episodes on occasion or pieces of an episode here and there and keep up with what is happening on the show, looking for signs that it has changed enough for me to give it another try. I want Days to succeed and I very much want to enjoy it again, but I refuse to torture myself in the meantime.

Days started on a downhill slide for me from the minute that EJ was allowed to start hogging up all the airtime. The next big hit came when they destroyed my favorite character Sami by having her sleep with the man who raped her. That disgusted me beyond what words can describe. Then, just as there seemed to finally be some hope again, Tomlin arrived with his plans for turning Days into a completely new soap. By the time they fired fired Bryan Datillo and tried to pair Sami with EJ once again my patience was spent. I'm just surprised they only lost 1 million viewers .... and then, it took Corday a solid year to be convinced that they weren't coming back and to finally fire Tomlin - at this point he's lucky to still have a show to save.

My anger at Tomlin and Corday aside, I still care about Days and would love to see it restored and successful again. But for me, it will have to be restored first before I tune back in and help with the success part. Days greatly disrespected me as a woman and a customer by trying to glorify rape as romance and at the same time they systematically removed all my favorite "products" (characters) one by one so like I would do as the customer of any other business, I said screw 'em and gave my business to their main competitor (GH) instead. Now, Days is saying that they've heard their customers complaints and are making the changes that we want to see so I look at it as a business that changed management and I'm willing to give them another chance .... but they are going to have to do more than make a bunch of empty promises. The one thing that hasn't changed is that Corday is still the owner and he doesn't have a good track record with honesty, so I'm taking it all with a grain of salt and waiting to see if he follows through this time or not. I'll keep following what's happening on the show like I've been doing and when I'm convinced that there is a reason to tune back in, I'll do it but not until. I gave Days the benefit of the doubt for years before I finally gave up and now I will be just as patient and wary about returning. I vividly remember Corday's flippant response to his customers' complaints about the firing of John & Marlena that they could see them at fan events - and now he's practically begging them all to return by heavily hyping the return of Jarlena. I think what Ken is going to learn is that it is a lot easier to hold onto customers in the first place than it is to try and win them back years later.

I’ve been watching Days just about my whole life and wouldn’t give it up for anything. I agree it’s disappointing when a favorite character, actor, or couple leaves the show. Over the years, I’ve seen a lot of favorites leave. And come back. And leave. And come back. And leave.

I adored Steve Johnson (the “patch” in jkjpatch). I adored Jack Deveraux. If I had stopped watching after they left, I would have missed out on Phloe. So you never know what waits around the corner that may catch your attention.

Like sportsgirl and fluffysmom, I will watch Days until the very last episode airs. Then I will cry my eyes out because it will feel like I lost my best friend.

I have a different reason for watching. My Mom and I would watch soaps from the time I could watch TV. I have been watching since I was 4. Of all the soaps we watched together a lot have gone off the air, The other one that is still on (The Young and The Restless) we stopped watching when the shows became an hour long and was on at the same time as another soap that we watched. Days is a connection I have to my Mom. Ever since she died I watch alone and think. Wow Mom would have loved it or hated it. I am tuning in till the end and then will cry with the rest of you.

djm, yep it was my Mom & I growing up & watching together along with other soaps which are all gone...That's why I would feel it was part of my family if it went away. I would come home from elementary school & spend it with my Mom.

I truly don't want to see Days be focused on just one couple that is front and center all the time. I may be a Phloe fan but I could not handle seeing them be on every single day for 3/4 of the show. Phloe may be my all time favorite Days couple but there are a lot of other couples I enjoy watching on Days too even though some of them may not be on the show anymore. I loved Lumi before they decided to shift Sami into EJ's orbit. I love Steve and Kayla, Bo and Hope, Victor and Vivian, Brady and Nicole, Jack and Jen, and Justin and Adrienne and I am sure there are some others that I can't think of right now at the top of my head. Right now I don't think there is one single couple that I really like together except Bo and Hope that are on the show. If Carly wasn't leaving the show permanently, it would have been kinda intriguing if the writers would have tried pairing her with Quinn since they do have a nice chemistry with each other and it would make for an interesting story with Quinn being Vivian's son and Carly being Vivian's enemy but unfortunately that won't be happening with all these characters being written off the show. Oddly enough I am starting to like
Quinn a little bit now that we are starting to see his more compassionate side in his scenes with Carly. I never thought I would actually ever even remotely like Quinn even a little bit because of the stuff that is going on with him and Chloe but I am seriously starting to warm up to the character a little bit in his scenes with both Carly and Vivian and I think I could actually handle seeing him remain on Days as long as he is being written as a gray character and not an evil villian. He is starting to intrigue me quite a bit and can't wait to see how the rest of this Carly stuff with Vivian is going to play out. I honestly don't mind seeing some of my favorite couples apart for a while and moved onto someone else shortly as long as I know that my favorite couples will end up back together at the end.

Even though I don't hate EJ like a lot of other people do, I have to admit I am getting really tired of seeing him get so much airtime. No one actor should ever be on more than 3 days a week since Days should be utilizing their whole cast and not just a few fan favorites. It would be so much easier to appreciate EJ if he would not be on every single day plus it wouldn't burn out James Scott. I really wish Days would alternate different characters for their A stories. It would be nice instead of having the Dimeras or Safe all the time be the A story that the show would allow another family like the Brady's, Hortons or Kiriakis family to get an A story. 2010 was a really awful year for Days as far as storylines go. It seemed like the wrong characters were becoming the main focus of storylines where the characters that were hardly featured should have been the focus and it ended up making a lot of this stuff almost unwatchable to me. For example there is no way in hell that Melanie should have been the center of the whole Phloe ONS/WTD storyline. It should have been focused more on Philip and Chloe than her especially since Parker ended up being his son. I only used that storyline as an example because that was the biggest storyline that disappointed me the most with the way it was written especially as a Philip fan. I really hope that these new writers put the focus on their storylines back to where it belongs and they write storylines that utilize the whole cast as an ensemble and not just have certain characters only be involved with certain other characters. I like seeing all my characters on a show interact with everyone else even if it is someone that they would not normally interact with. I also want to see more umbrella type storylines where there are all kinds of individual storylines going on but they all connect together into one big storyline. GH is really good at doing that kind of stuff and hopefully Days can be too with these new writers.

So far I have been able to stick with Days even though there are plenty of Days where I am watching and thinking to myself why am I wasting an hour of my time watching this crap. I was almost to the point of giving up GH (my all time favorite soap) this past year with Brenda's return when the writers decided to turn GH into what I like to call the Sonny and Brenda hour every single day of the week for over what seemed like 3 months straight. It was horrible to try to watch that show when every single thing focused on just these 2 characters. I never ever even liked Sonny and Brenda as a couple and to just have to watch them all the time hogging all the airtime became one of my worst nightmares. I was glad though that I stuck through watching all that crap though because now things have really changed for the better on GH and I am liking what I see so far and for the first time in a long time can't wait to see what other improvements the new headwriter is going to bring to the show to improve it even better. Hopefully the changes being made at Days are going to be half as good as the changes being made on GH so that I can have something exciting to look forward to watching on Days come this fall but I know that I need to be cautiously optimistic with Days because Corday has promised changes in the past and has failed to deliver on them.

One of the biggest changes I do really want to see on Days though is that the right characters are paired together as romantic couples so that I can once again have some couples on screen that I could root for. One of the things I hated most about 2010 was a lot of the couple pairings. I hate Safe and I know most of that is because I hate Rafe but also because I know that Sami will always belong with Lucas and not Rafe or EJ. I hate Ejole for the same reason because I know that Brady and Nicole belong together. The only thing I do like with Ejole though is that James Scott and Ari Zucker do have a really good chemistry together and the acting in their scenes is really amazing but the pairing is all wrong because of the way that EJ always uses Nicole's love for his kids to lure her back into his life and the way that Nicole always choses EJ over Brady just so that she can be a mom to Sydney who is not even her daughter. Phelanie was my absolute most hated pairing of 2010 and that is because it was so contrived just to give Vivian and Carly a storyline when they were brought back to Days. The only reason why the writers even decided to have Philip marry Melanie is because they wanted to make her Carly's daughter and that way Melanie could be used as part of Vivian's revenge on Carly over Lawrence's death. I'm not even really sure why exactly Philip even needed to be brought into this mess except for maybe to give him a reason to walk away from Victor for over half of 2010 and to move into Maggie's. Danloe was just as bad because all that pairing did was turn Chloe into such an insecure emotionally unstable woman who couldn't stand on her own two feet without being Daniel's sex toy. Both Danloe and Phelanie were such big mistakes that the writers had to have Philip and Chloe sleep together and conceive a child together just so that they could end the pairings after waiting far too long to do so. I came so close to giving up on watching Days in 2010 after Philip married Melanie but then he started sharing lots of scenes with Chloe again and I started to become hopeful that both Phelanie and Danloe would end after the ONS and that Phloe would be endgame and I ended up keeping watching and hoping that things would improve with the show and I am kinda glad that I didn't give up watching at the point in time because I did end up feeling rewarded when the writers decided to give Phloe a baby together. I am hoping that with the new writers that I will eventually get to see Bricole have a chance to be together as a couple and for EJ to have a chance to be all alone because he doesn't deserve to have a love interest after the way he treats every single woman he is involved with.

I'm like you Kazz even though there are a lot of things that I hate about Days I do want to see the show succeed and make it to it's 50th anniversary. I really hope that these new writers can make all the necessary changes that are needed and are able to help Days regain most of the million fans that Days lost throughout 2010. I don't neccessary want Days to be better than GH since that will always be my #1 soap but I would definitely like to see Days give GH, Y&R and B&B a run for their money and even help knock Y&R and B&B out of the top spots in the ratings since I have never been a big fan of either of those shows. I would like to see both GH and Days vie for the #1 and #2 spots in the ratings for awhile and hopefully with all the big changes being made to both these show it will be able to happen. I really hope that a lot of long time viewers that stopped watching will come back and give Days a shot again and enjoy what they are seeing enough to keep them as viewers.

I am the way you guys are with GH. I started watching that show with both of my parents when I was real little. I would watch it live with my dad since he stayed home with me and my little brother while my mom worked all day and then as soon as she came home I would watch the show again with her off of the recording that my dad would do for her while she was at work. I don't know what I would do if that show would ever get cancelled because now that my dad is dead that is one of the best memories I have of stuff that we used to do together.

I may not have been watching Days all my life like most of you have but ever since I started watching it with my sister in law in 1999 while I was staying with her and my brother trying to get back on my feet financially I have enjoyed the show ever since and only stopped watching both Days and GH while I was going to college and working all the time and didn't have time in my busy schedule to keep up with both shows. I am so glad that I decide to start watching Days again in 2007 and for the most part I have enjoyed quite a bit about the show until 2010 but I am glad that I stuck through most of the awful stuff that was aired in 2010 because I was rewarded with a couple good surprises. There are plenty of Days where I would like to stop watching Days or even GH but I just can't seem to bring myself to do it and so far I am glad that I haven't stopped watching and I am definitely going to try to keep watching both shows until they go off the air.

I'm glad you brought up GH because that's the other soap I watch I've been a fan since 2002 and to me GH is the hottest soap out there it's wayyy hotter than DOOL and I started watching Days first. I stopped watching DOOL in 2003 or 2004 when that horrible Salem Stalker storyline started and starting watching on and off in 2008 and stopped watching it again when I saw Phillip's last day face it Days it is what it used to be the writing the acting the fans!

I'll stop watching when it airs its last episode. I watch not for just one actor, one character, or even one couple. I feel like this is "my show". Only once did I ever stop watching and it was a decision based not only on storyline but also on real life issues. When real life settled a bit, I came back to the show. As much as it hurt to lose any chance of Lumi reuniting once Lucas left, I didn't stop watching. At times it did feel like watching a car wreck...you know, wanting to look away but you can't pull your eyes away from it. I've stuck with it knowing that eventually it will get better. And until it does, I can be snarky and make fun of the horrible storylines and inconsistent writing. LOL!

I want to see all of the characters utilized in umbrella storylines. I hope under the new writers a greater variety of characters will be involved in the stories not just the chosen 4 or 5 characters. Those chosen are certainly not the ones I'd choose.

I've been through spurts where I watch or don't watch (just read what's happening). I like Days...was raised watching Days, and like others feel it's a bit like family.

I also agree, I don't like some things on the show, and definitely don't want one couple front and center over everything else. That's why I fear John/Marlena coming back. I really can't handle that era again. I was relieved when Marlena left the screen.

Anyway, I hope that the new changes are good viewing and bring people back. If they write off a character, I'd like to see them leave happily ever after, or on some sort of quest (if they're a character I like) so that they can return.

Nothing is permanent in Salem...just like in life.

Well I have definite opinions on why certain stories were not PHLOE centered. I can step back and see the big picture on that. I personally enjoyed how that story was told in 2010. I only wished Philip still had his business side of things in 2010...and I am saddened that we didn;t get to see Philip be a father on screen.

As a Phloe fan I don't feel cheated though. They were not a couple. Their affair was not a love connection they both were in love with other people. I am a Philip fan first, and I see that they tailored Melanie to specifically fit with his character. As a Philip fan, I cannot be mad at that. He finally got to be a romantic leading man. GO JAY. And I enjoyed it. He even in the end told Chloe a few truths about herself. Long time coming in my book! I guess the writers were doing it for me. I couldn't be more pleased. Should have sent a fruit basket.

I will admit that I felt bad for Chloe/Nadia, she was but a mere vessel to birth the Kiriakis heir. It was not about her at all. The baby was for Philip. And like I said before, I have definite opinions why they chose to write it that way. I can't even say I disagree with that choice, all things considering.

The reasons I am going to probably stop watching the show, despite wanting to support Molly and Arianne, are that the characters they are turning the focus toward are dull to me. I have no interest in Jack/Jen, Jarlena, or Caustin 2.0 or 3.0. I liked the stories being focused on the Dimera and Kiriakis families and if they want to go more toward Bradys and Hortons well they lost me. I could care less about those two clans, unless they are dealing with Dimeras and Kiriakis.

If Nicole and Melanie left the show tomorrow, I would never turn Days on again. Simple as that.
