Saw a little tidbit on Daytime Royalty about Ben/Abby/Chad. I won't go over the whole thing. You can read it there if you like but they mentioned that the baby's name does NOT remain Colin. I was hoping it wouldn't since psycho Ben. No way should that child be named by him.

His name is changed to Thomas, which I kind of love because I imagine it's after Tom Horton.

I like Thomas. Since there are no Hortons to carry on the family name I guess that is the best we can hope for.

I thought he might be named after Jack. As for no Hortons to carry on the family name of Tom...really? There is no male heir with the name Horton? I know Lucas is a Horton and of course so was Will, but is there really no one else? Out of curiousity is the Horton line essentially female? All I can think of is Hope Williams, Julie (don't know what her maiden name was), and Jennifer Horton. Maggie who is still considered a Horton by marriage. We now have Lucas Horton, Jennifer's brother. Who else is there?

I am glad the baby's name is changing. It has always bothered me that Sydney DiMera's name has remained. I cannot believe Sami would allow a name selected by Nicole Walker in general, and specifically her baby's kidnapper, stay the child's name. I thought for sure she would have renamed the baby.

Thomas is a cute name, but I wanted her to name the baby Billy in honor of Jack who died so Abigail could live. For those of you who don't know Jack's birthname was Billy Johnson.

I never realized til reading this thread that there were not so many actual Horton's who carry the Horton name. I suppose they can give Lucas another son to remedy that situation. I think Mike is also of age to have more children.

Jeremy is a fugitive from justice who was busted by Jett during a smuggling operation for the Dimeras. Addie's twin Tom Jr. could come back I suppose if he really isn't dead. Heck, they could make him John Blacks father. LOLOL Grief could drive Lucas to want another child which would make for a storyline also.

That would give Melissa a reason to return. I like that idea.

I don't like the name Colin so I am glad they are changing it. The other name that bugs me is Tate. I like all the other names.

They could bring back some offspring of Sandy Horton or maybe some kids from Dougie LeClair, Hope's half-brother. Maybe they could even bring him back. It's really sad to think that Abby's child is the only person that might be left to carry the Horton name. I feel that Lucas is a bit old to have another child, so maybe that's not a good idea. I doubt the show would give Mike another child if he ever does come back.

Tommy Horton Jr. and has one childe a daughter named Sandy Horton, however it is unknown if she has any children. If they made John Black Tommy Horton Jr's son then that would make Shawn-Douglas and Belle related.

Technically Abby's child wont be carrying the Horton name, if they don't give him Ben's last name then his last name would be Deveraux. Also if Sandy Horton has any kids there last name would not be Horton they would have their father's last name unless there would be no father.

As long as you are not first cousins it is allowed from what I understand.

I still don't get how Nathan is able to use the name Horton, if memory serves me correctly his mother Melissa never used it she was always Melissa Anderson.

Not by blood remember Shawn-Douglas is not a Brady via blood he is a Kiriakis, plus they already undid that storyline so Belle is no longer related to the Brady's. If John becomes a Horton she and Shawn-Douglas would be related by blood.
