They would be second cousins and it would make Hope and John first cousins. I hate to say it, but some people in small towns are related to who they marry. I'm not, but my cousins are my cousins cousins. LOL

Who exactly are Nathan and Melissa Horton? Is there a family tree somewhere of Salem's main families?
Also, regarding the cousins being intimate with their cousins...well, I believe Guiding Light did that taboo storyline already...they had first cousins fall in love and be a couple, despite knowing they were first cousins. But I guess Queen Victoria also married her first cousin, Prince Albert. So who knows what the show will consider taboo? |

We have no idea who Nathan's dad is. Melissa was only being brought back to the show for a couple appearances and so probably got pregnant in Nashville.

Or is it her off-screen husband's that we as the audience have never met? Then again, if Nathan's last name is the same as his mother's maiden name, then maybe Melissa wasn't married or from some reason chose not to recognize her child's father. Did they ever have a storyline about Nathan and his identity?

In an interview a few years ago, Corday (or maybe it was one of the actors?!) said the strong inference is that he's Pete's son. I have no clue where I read that, though - maybe SOD. It was around the time Lisa T./Melissa visited for Mickey's and Alice's deaths. |

Pete was Melissa's boyfriend in the 80's, if memory serves me correctly I believe they were actually married for a short while. |
