Chapter 6

THE PIER
MIA: You have a daughter?
TONY: Yes. It happened a long time ago. While I was on the island. Well over 20 years ago. In the first few months of me being kept there, there was a woman on the island. She and I were...intimate. After all, it was only the two of us alone on this island. After a while, some people came to rescue her. But, I was away looking for food when the men came, and that's why I didn't escape the island earlier. I didn't find out about the child until John and Marlena rescued me.
MIA: And, you're sure she's here?
TONY: Positive.
MIA: Who is she?

PENTHOUSE
Marlena was sitting out on the balcony of the Penthouse when her cell phone rang. It was an unlisted number, so Marlena couldn't tell who it was.
MARLENA: Hello. This is Dr. Evans.
VOICE: Have you figured it out yet?

OUTSIDE THE LOFT
SHAWN-D: What are you doing here?
PAUL: Shawn. Good to see you again, man. It's been a long time.
SHAWN-D: What the hell are you doing here?!
PAUL: What? No “hello”? No “how's it goin'”? Come on, man. Remember all the good times we've had?
SHAWN-D: Don't pull any of that nostalgia c*** on me, Mendez! What are you doing here?!
PAUL: I came to see Jan. She and I have some...unfinished business to discuss.
SHAWN-D: You don't have any business to discuss with Jan at all. Now, Jan and I would very much like it if you'd leave.
JAN: Shawn, let me take care of him. I can speak for myself, you know.
SHAWN-D: I know. I'm just trying to help.
JAN: I appreciate that, but I've got this covered.
Jan walked up to Paul.
JAN: Well, Mendez, you're right. We do have some unfinished business to discuss.
PAUL: Well, okay. So, cupcake, you wanna do this in private, or should I let your boyfriend here watch us doing it? You know, depending on the kind of guy he is, he might actually enjoy it.
JAN: Oh, we won't be doing anything. No, I take that back. I will be doing something.
PAUL: What do you mean?
JAN: I mean this.
Jan kneed Paul in the groin. Paul fell to the ground.
JAN: Now, get up and leave, or I will call the police and have you arrested for attempting to rape me a second time. And don't think I'm too afraid to tell them all the gory details about what you did to me the first time. These last few years have made me strong. I'm not the same scared little girl you knew. Now, get out of here. Now!
Paul got up and went to walk away. He turned back.
PAUL: You ain't seen the last of me! Either of you! I'll be dealing with you two later!
And he walked away.

Chapter 7 - The Wedding

PENTHOUSE
MARLENA: Figured what out?
VOICE: Who your husband is.
MARLENA: I don't know what you're talking about. I already know who my husband is!
VOICE: His name isn't really John Black.
MARLENA: I know. It's Ryan DiMera or Forrest Alamain, or something like that, isn't it?
VOICE: Not quite.
MARLENA: Look, my husband is John Black. He's not a DiMera. He's not an Alamain. He is John Black.
VOICE: No. No, he's not.
MARLENA: Okay, I'll bite. Who is he?
VOICE: You'll find out soon enough.
The phone clicked and the line went dead.

ST. LUKE'S CATHOLIC CHURCH
Jan was now five months pregnant and feeling the affects of her pregnancy. But, today was different. Today was special. Today was the day she had been waiting for for the last four months. Today was the day of her wedding to Shawn-D. It was a relatively small wedding, with only Bo, Hope, Ciara, Victor, Maggie, Philip, Melanie, Dr. Poppins, Caroline, Roman, and (for some reason) Tony in attendance, but it was nice. Belle was also there, but she was in the back of the church, trying not to be noticed. Because none of Jan's family was alive, Tony volunteered to walk her down the isle. Philip was Shawn-D's best man while Melanie was the maid of honor. Father Jansen was the priest who was marrying them. Jan looked beautiful in her wedding dress. Finally, she got up to the altar. Father Jansen went through all of the opening remarks and such as that. Finally, it was time for the vows.
JANSEN: Shawn-Douglas, do you take this woman as your lawful wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?
SHAWN-D: I do.
JANSEN: Jan, do you take this man as your lawful wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do you part?
JAN: I do.
JANSEN: If there is anyone here who has a reason these two should not be wed, speak now or forever hold your peace.
The church doors opened and in stepped Paul Mendez.
PAUL: I object.
Everyone turned around to look at Paul, utter shock on their faces.
