Chapter 2

SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
Daniel has an ice pack on his nose.
JAN: I'm really sorry about punching your nose, Dr. Jonas. I don't know what came over me.
DANIEL: Mood swings. They're quite common during a pregnancy. And, with what the history file says about you, I'm not surprised at how you reacted.
JAN: Yeah. I'm really, really sorry!
DANIEL: It's okay. It's actually my fault. I did come on a bit too strong. And, I'm sorry.
JAN: That's fine. Um, no offense, but is it possible for me to get a female doctor to watch over my pregnancy?
DANIEL: None taken. I think...that it would be a good idea. Having a female doctor might be a better idea...than having me. Unfortunately, Lexie, Carly, and Kayla are all out of town. However, we do have a new doctor, Dr. Poppins. I'll schedule you for an appointment with her tomorrow.
JAN: Okay, thanks.
Daniel walked out of the room.
JAN (thinking): Why would I react like that? Daniel's a doctor. I mean, sure, he's a little flirty, but he would never do anything to purposely hurt me. I know I've been hurt before, but that was a long time ago...

WILL: You...
The person who tapped Will on the back is revealed to be Mia.
MIA: Hey, Will.
WILL: What are you doing here?
MIA: I wanted to see you. Can I take a seat?
WILL: Sure.
Mia sat down in the chair across the table from Will.
MIA: You look good.
WILL: Thanks. So do you.
MIA: What have you been up to?
WILL: Not much. Just school. Hanging out with Gabi and Chad. You?
MIA: Traveling. But, I got tired of going from place to place and wanted to come back here. I wanted to see you.
WILL: Why?
MIA: Look, I know we didn't leave things on great terms the last time we saw each other. But, I wanted to change that. That, and I love you.

Mia's back! I wonder why. Besides the fact that she's in love with Will and Andre's in love with her.

Seems like some of Jan's craziness may be coming back. Uh oh.

Ohhh Boy Mia is back. I loved Mia and Will together just so excited. I am wondering if since Mia lost Grace she will figure into Shawn and Jan's baby somehow. I am looking forward to ti the next chapter and getting to know Dr. Poppins. Thanks for the chapter Andre.

Chapter 3

BRADY PUB
WILL: You love me?
MIA: Yeah.
WILL: What about Chad?
MIA: What about Chad?
WILL: When you left Salem, you loved him, too.
MIA: I did, didn't I?
WILL: Yeah.
MIA: Well, I don't anymore. I guess it took leaving Salem to realize this, but I love you. It took me a while to realize this, but the only boy I will ever truly love is you.
Will stood up. So did Mia.
MIA: Will? Where are you going?
WILL: Nowhere.
Will stood right in front of Mia, and the two kissed.

SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
It was now the next day, and Jan was sitting in the waiting room of the hospital, flipping through a magazine. After finishing it, Jan looked across the room, and saw a man wearing sunglasses staring at her from the other side of the room. He didn't get up. He didn't move. He just sat there and stared at Jan. Jan stared back at the man. Nothing was said between the two of them. Soon, a nurse came and showed Jan to the room where Dr. Poppins would be examining her. A few minutes later, Dr. Poppins arrived. She was a nice women, and had a kind smile. She gave Jan a test to make sure she was pregnant, and then did an ultrasound.
DR. POPPINS: Well, Jan, the baby seems perfectly healthy.
JAN: Um, Dr. Poppins, I'm a little worried about something.
POPPINS: What's that, dear?
JAN: It's when you're concerned about something, but not overly concerned. But, that's not the point. Several years ago, I was raped by a guy who had gonorrhea, and he gave me his disease. I was treated for it, and after the treatment, it went away. But, I was wondering, even though it is gone, could the fact that I had it at one point possibly do any harm to the baby?
POPPINS: Well, as long as you where tested negative for gonorrhea after your treatment was finished, there shouldn't be any problem.
JAN: Okay, good.
Dr. Poppins wrote on a notepad, tore off the top sheet, and handed it to Jan.
POPPINS: This is a prescription for Materna. It's a multivitamin. It will make sure that there are no neural tube defects, and it will also give you more iron and calcium.
Jan took the prescription.
POPPINS: I'd also like you to come back and see me in four weeks for your next check-up. Do you have any other questions I can help with?
JAN: No. Thanks, Dr. Poppins.
POPPINS: You're welcome, dear.
As Jan walked out of the room, she bumped into somebody.
JAN: Sorry.
MAN: My fault.
Jan kept walking. But, once she heard the voice, she turned back. The man had already gone around the corner. Strange. She had heard his voice before. But, she couldn't quite remember where.

Hmmm. Someone is watching her. Wonder who.

Aw, sweet scene between Will and Mia.

Who the heck is the strange man? At any rate, I'm glad that Jan is getting proper care. But now I am thinking that the venereal disease is what made Jan crazy before. Very interesting.

Chapter 4

THE PIER
Mia is walking around, talking on her phone.
MIA: No, I'm not going to tell anyone about you. Why would I?...Look, I don't want anything to do with Chad anymore, and Will wouldn't care even if I did tell him about you...Wait, hello? Hello?
Mia hung up the phone. Just then, a hand touched her shoulder. She turned around and smiled.
MIA: Oh, hey. You got here sooner than I thought you would.

PENTHOUSE
Since returning to Salem, John and Marlena had bought back the Penthouse that they used to live in. One morning, John was out taking a run. Since he had gotten better, he liked running every morning. Marlena was having a cup of coffee when the phone rang.
MARLENA: Hello?
There was silence.
MARLENA: Hello?
Finally, a voice spoke
VOICE: Your husband's not who you think he is.
The voice had obviously been mechanically altered, so Marlena could not tell who it was that was talking.
MARLENA: Excuse me?
VOICE: Your husband isn't who you think he is.
MARLENA: What are you talking about? Who is this?
There was a click and the phone went silent.

OUTSIDE THE LOFT
It was nighttime, a day or so after Jan's 2nd appointment with Dr. Poppins (so just about a month after the previous chapter). Jan had been going for a walk and was just about to return to the loft. She had had a nice walk, but she felt a little uneasy. She could swear that somebody had been following her all day long. Finally, she stopped walking and felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned around, shrugged the hand off of her shoulder, and saw the same man she had been seeing for the last few months, the man with the slicked-back hair and sunglasses.
JAN: Why are you following me?
MAN: Because, darling, we have a few things to discuss.
JAN: Don't call me “darling”. Anyway, what do we have to discuss? I don't even know you! Who are you?
MAN: You know very well who I am and what we need to talk about.
Why was his voice so familiar? Jan swore that she had heard it before.
JAN: No, I don't. I've never met you before in my life!
MAN: Come on, baby. Don't tell me you've forgotten about me.
JAN: I can't have forgotten somebody that I don't even know.
The man put both his hands on Jan's shoulders.
MAN: All right, now that's enough of this pretending that you don't know me garbage! You do know me! Intimately!
Again, Jan shrugged the man's hands off of her shoulder.
JAN: Don't touch me again!
Jan slapped the man in the face. She was stronger than she thought, as she left a nice bruise on his cheek. She also knocked off his sunglasses revealing the man to be the one person Jan had hoped she'd never see again.
JAN: Oh no!
The man who had been following her for the last few weeks, the one who heard that she was pregnant and the she and Shawn-D were getting married, the one who watched her at the hospital, she knew the terrible truth about who he was now. And now, Jan was more frightened than she had ever been before. For this man...was Paul Mendez.
PAUL: Still as feisty as ever, huh, sweet cheeks?
