What a nice service so far! I enjoyed the reading selections and the hymn. The personal vows are my favorite part of any wedding. I seriously cannot wait for tomorrow!!!!

Chapter 20 ST. LUKE'S Ceri and Sydney turned to each other and took each other by the hand. They smiled and took a deep breath. Listen to this during the vows. CERI: I can't believe we're actually here. I've waited for this moment for...such a long time. When we first met, I was still exploring who I was. Only a handful of people knew that I liked girls, and three out of those four people were my immediate family. But then, I met you. And, it never seemed to matter who knew whether I liked girls or not. I loved you, and that was all the mattered to me. We've been through a lot in these last few years. But, no matter what happened, we faced it together. Nothing could ever tear us apart, and nothing ever will. At the end of our junior year, when you proposed to me, I thought that that would be the happiest day of my life. But, this...this is by far the happiest day of my life. I get to marry my best friend. I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with you. I love you, and I always will, for all the days of our lives. Sydney looked down, then looked back up at Ceri, and smiled. SYDNEY: Ever since I was a little girl, I never really understood anything about the world or love. I thought that love was something that only came true in those Disney movies or fairy tales. It was a nice idea, but I didn't think it could really happen. But then, I met you. I was drawn to you. There was just something about you. And, I know this is gonna sound really cheesy but, I feel like I loved you before I even met you. You made me believe in love. You helped me to see that love was real, and that it really could happen. You were the first person that I was ever able to say “I love you” to. When we were looking at readings for today, I kept coming back to this one from 1 Corinthians. But, I didn't want to use it for a reading. I wanted to read it during my vows. It reads: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” To me, you are the embodiment of love. You are all the things described in that verse and so much more. You and I have been through a lot together. And, if I had to go through it again, I wouldn't change a thing, because you were there for all of it. I always want to be by your side. I love you more than I can ever tell you. And I am so happy you agreed to be my wife. I love you so much! Both Sydney and Ceri were tearing up with joy. CERI (whispering): I love you too, Sydney. They beamed at each other. JACOB: That was beautiful. Now that Ceri and Sydney have said their vows, it is time for the exchange of rings. Father Jacob turned to Mel and Georgia. JACOB: May I have the rings, please? Mel and Georgia lifted the pillow. Father Jacob knelt down and picked up the two rings. JACOB: Thank you. Max kissed his two daughters on the forehead. Father Jacob turned to Sydney and Ceri. JACOB: These rings are a symbol of Ceri and Sydney's love for each other, as well as a reminder of Christ's love for us. It is a never ending circle of gold, signifying the many years of happiness that Sydney and Ceri will have together. If there is anyone here who can find just reason that these two should not be wed, speak now, or forever hold your peace. Sydney and Ceri looked out at the crowd. Everyone sat there in silence. Ceri could see Lilith in the back, but Lilith made no attempt at moving. She just sat in the back, looking down at her shoes. After a moment, they looked back at Father Jacob. JACOB: Ceri, please take this ring, put it on Sydney's finger and repeat after me: “with this ring, I thee wed.” Ceri took the ring and put it on Sydney's finger. CERI: With this ring, I thee wed. JACOB: Sydney, please take this ring, put it on Ceri's finger, and repeat after me: “with this ring, I thee wed”. Sydney put the ring on Ceri's finger. SYDNEY: With this ring, I thee wed. JACOB: Ceri, do you take Sydney Anne DiMera to be your wife? Do you promise to honor and cherish her, to be faithful to her and love her, for as long as you both shall live? CERI: I do. JACOB: Sydney, do you take Ceridwen Lynnette Alamain to be your wife? Do you promise to honor and cherish her, to be faithful to her and love her, for as long as you both shall live? SYDNEY: I do. JACOB: Then, by the power vested in me by the state, I now pronounce you married. You may kiss... Before Father Jacob could finish, Ceri and Sydney were embraced and in the middle of a passionate kiss. JACOB: Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to present, Sydney and Ceridwen Alamain-DiMera! The whole congregation clapped, cheered and gave them a standing ovation. Sydney and Ceri briefly stopped kissing to look at each other and smile. But, they couldn't contain themselves much longer, and resumed kissing.

Chapter 21 ST. LUKE'S JACOB: Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to present: Sydney and Ceridwen Alamain-DiMera! Listen to this during the end of the wedding. The crowd cheered as Ceri and Sydney pulled each other into a passionate kiss. The girls received a standing ovation. They broke away from each other for a moment to see their family and friends clapping and cheering for them, then continued to be lip locked. After several moments, they turned towards the crowd, and marched hand-in-hand out of the chapel and into the Narthex. The wedding party followed closely behind, followed by the immediate families, and then the friends and extended family. Each received a hug from both Ceri and Sydney. The last to arrive was Father Jacob. SYDNEY: Thank you so much for this, Father. JACOB: Not a problem. I wish you both many years of happiness. Ceri and Sydney hugged Father Jacobs. After a few minutes of milling around, Eric whistled and clapped his hands. ERIC: Excuse me, everyone? Excuse me? The crowd turned their attention to Eric. ERIC: So, I was requested to take pictures of the brides, the wedding party, and the family. So, if the full wedding party could please come into the chapel with me. Sydney, Ceri, Sami, Allie, Lucas, Nicholas, Nicole, Rhiannon, J.J., Chelsea, Will, Sonny, Max, and the triplets all followed Eric into the chapel. ERIC: Okay, just the two brides, first. Ceri and Sydney walked up to the altar together. Eric took several pictures of them. ERIC: Can we get a kiss? The girls began kissing each other. Eric snapped a few more pictures, as well as pictures of several other poses. ERIC: Next up, let's have all of the wedding party. Will, Sonny, J.J., Rhiannon, Chelsea, Max and the triplets walked up. Eric took several pictures of them. ERIC: Okay, let's have the immediate family, please. As J.J., Sonny, Chelsea, Max and the triplets walked down, Sami, Allie, Nicole, and Nicholas walked up to the altar. Eric was about to take a picture, when Sydney held up her hand. SYDNEY: Wait a minute. She pointed towards Lucas, who was sitting in the front row. SYDNEY: Get up here, Lucas. LUCAS: Eric said immediate family. SYDNEY: You are my immediate family. You were the only real father I've ever had. Now, get up here before I have to come down there. LUCAS: Okay. I know better than to argue with any daughter of Sami's. Lucas smiled, as did Sydney. He got up, and joined Sydney and the family at the altar. Sydney gave him a kiss on the cheek. Eric took several pictures of the family. SYDNEY: Uncle Eric, could you bring Grandpa John in, please? ERIC: Sure thing. Eric walked out for a moment, and came back with John. SYDNEY: Come on, grandpa. We need a picture with you! JOHN: Well, I can't think of anything I would love more than a picture with my beautiful granddaughter and her new wife. John joined Sydney and Ceri at the altar. The rest of the family went back and sat in a pew. Eric took several pictures of the three. SYDNEY: She was here, you know that, grandpa? I saw her. She was sitting next to you. John nodded. JOHN: Oh, I know. She's always with us, everywhere we go. John kissed Sydney's forehead.

Chapter 22 HORTON BANQUET HALL A few years previous, the Salem Inn had undergone major renovations. This included expanding it and making it look nicer. A large part of the extension was devoted to creating a Banquet Hall, and this was where the wedding reception was to be held. After the wedding was over and all of the pictures taken, the wedding party and their guests made their way over to the Horton Banquet Hall, named, of course, after Tom and Alice. After the guests had taken their seats and eaten, Will tapped his glass with his spoon and stood. WILL: Hey, everyone. As the best man, it is my duty to make a speech. Now, you'd think that for a reporter, I'd be more prepared, but this time, I'm gonna do this on the fly. Everyone chuckled. WILL: I've known Sydney for...well, her whole life, really. She's the youngest of my sisters. But, in a way, I really only got to know her when she became a teenager. For a few years there, Sonny and I were off in Switzerland together, and before that, Sydney was with our mom in L.A. So, when we both finally got back to Salem, that's when we really got to know each other. And over the years, I have seen Sydney grow into an amazing young woman. She's strong, smart, beautiful, and so wonderful. When I moved back, Sydney told me about this girl that she had met, and how she had a feeling that she liked her. Shortly afterwords, I met this girl. And, I found Sydney and Ceri to be the perfect match. They really do complete each other. I've watched you grow up, Syd. And, even though you're my little sister, you're not so little anymore. I could not be more happy that you have found your true love. Will raised his glass. WILL: To Sydney and Ceri. Everyone raised their glasses and took a drink. After some brief clapping, Will sat down, and Rhiannon stood up. RHIANNON: As maid of honor, it is also my duty to give a speech. So, here we are. Ceri and I, quite literally, grew up together. She was the first person I ever saw. The first person I loved. The first person I fought with, and the first I made up with. They say that twins, especially identical twins, have some kind of psychic connection. That they're tuned in to what the other twin is feeling or thinking. Well, the first time I saw Ceri with Sydney, I knew. I knew in that moment that they would be together forever. I could feel how deeply they cared for each other. I have seen these two go threw some hard times, and they have always come out stronger. They have always supported each other, no matter what was going on. If there is such a thing as soulmates, well, you couldn't find two soulmates who fit together better. Rhiannon raised her glass. RHIANNON: To Ceri and Sydney. Again, the crowd raised their glasses, took a drink, and clapped. Rhiannon sat down, and both Ceri and Sydney stood. SYDNEY: Thanks, Will. CERI: Thanks, Rhiannon. SYDNEY: And, thank you everyone else for coming out here and celebrating our wedding with us! CERI: The fun is just beginning. We're about to open up the dance floor. SYDNEY: But, before we do, I have a little surprise in store. CERI: As do I. SYDNEY: Neither of us know what each other's surprise is, so this should be very interesting. Would you like to go first, Ceri? CERI: Okay. So, Sydney and I both love music. And, we share a lot of the same favorite songs. So, while I was planning the wedding, I picked one of our favorite songs, and now, I'm gonna sing it to my new wife. SYDNEY: Wait a second. You planned that? CERI: Yeah. SYDNEY: Ceri, so did I. I planned to sing one of our favorite songs to you. CERI: Seriously? SYDNEY: Yeah! But, it's unlikely that we picked the same song, so go ahead and do yours, first. CERI: Okay. Before I do, I need to tell you something, Sydney. Ceri walked out to the center of the dance floor, microphone in hand, as soft music started playing. CERI: I do swear that I'll always be there. I'd give anything and everything and I will always care. Through weakness and strength, happiness and sorrow, for better for worse, I will love you... SYDNEY: ...with every beat of my heart. Sydney and Ceri stared at each other. SYDNEY: We picked... CERI: ...the same song. Oh, this is brilliant! Sydney and Ceri ran to each other and hugged. SYDNEY: I guess we were thinking the same thing. CERI: I think this calls for a duet. Sydney went back up to her table and got the microphone that Will had been using, then joined her wife on the dance floor as the music flourished.
