Attachment DeletedLast month, we reported the unconfirmed rumor we were hearing from multiple sources that Guy Wilson was leaving Days of our Lives and the role of Will Horton. Serial Scoop can now confirm Wilson's departure, as well as the upcoming death of Will. Even though viewers see Will die in the next month, it's hard to believe a legacy character--the firstborn of Sami Brady, no less--would be axed from a show looking to beef up its next generation. Perhaps Will could return from the dead someday. In the world of soap operas, anything is possible. Wilson debuted on Days in January 2014, replacing three-time Emmy winner Chandler Massey in the role. source of info www.serialscoop.com/2015/09/guy-wilson-leaving-days-of-our-lives.html?m=1

Wow! I had seen the rumor earlier about Wilson leaving. While I won't miss the actor - I never warmed to the guy - I can't believe they are KILLING Will. I was kind of hoping they would bring back Chandler and change his personality back to the old Will.
I hope he is part of the serial killer storyline because this is turning out to be WAY too many deaths.
Thanks for posting.
One good thing that COULD come of this is Sonny getting to raise Ari if something happens to Gabi.

Thanks for the info @erica2014.
I can't stand Will and I'm not sorry to see him go, but it's not necessary to kill him off. Just have him go follow Sonny to France and try to work things out.
If Sami comes back for the funeral, I wouldn't mind if she gets bumped off too.

I'm not surprised that Guy Wilson is leaving the show. I am very surprised that he is being killed off though. Hopefully his death will lead to some good fall out. I'm sad to lose Lumi's son permanently.

First I'm surprised the necktie killer is being revealed so fast. It's only been what, two murders?Pretty shabby for a serial killer storyline, but that's just my opinion, unless the necktie killer isn't the serial killer at all. While I'm NOT surprised Guy Wilson is leaving,I never liked him anyway,I wanted Chandler back,I AM surprised he is being killed off.I'm guessing another victim of this killer.I wonder if that's why Sami's returning.Looks like Guy will be gone in the next month.Didn't I see that Sami's returning THIS month though?

i think the reveal of the killer this soon is a red herring! cause from what i read a long time ago that the killer would be revealed in NOV just to the fans only not anyone in Salem.

It is sad to see a character that I have watched since he was a baby killed off. I hope the writers don't go too far in pruning the family trees.

I won't miss Will at all, but the idea of Lucas and Sami's kid being killed is hard to accept. He's truly a legacy character. Guess it's the emotional punch they want, but very extreme to kill off the character.

This is really sad. Will has been awful but the thought of him being gone for good is just depressing. Poor Arianna. This is really going to mess her up for life, first with her mom in jail for the first two years of her life, then her stepfather left for Europe and now her biological father possibly dying. This amount of chaos and instability can't be good for a kid her age.

Don't care about Will one way or another, but killing him off is too harsh and extreme. He has ties to both Horton and Brady families. Like him or hate him, he has a place in Salem for years to come.

Thank you, God!
No offense really to Guy, but Will sucks... if it was Chandler's Will I'd be more upset.
Good luck, Guy!

Well, as a more recent joiner to Days' audience, I have to say, I am shocked they'd kill off a Legacy-character as others have framed it. From my understanding this is a show that has been struggling in ratings, and this character had the potential to be part of a strong revival of the show. Although the Will character has been a jerk this past year or so, he could be redeemed and given real solid stories.
He is not only a Brady, but a Horton. That is a double-whammy!!!! I think this character could have been used by the writers in a smart way. For those audience members who are long time viewers, the fact that Will is a Brady and Horton means something. His Horton side could have served as his moral compass, the moral conscience of the show...carrying on with Alice/Tom Horton's role in the show, from what I understand of their characters. For those of us who are a bit newer to the show, and for those who may be a potential future viewer of the show, this character could add something of interest to newcomers. A single gay man raising a young biological daughter, while working/developing his own career, etc. is something that could reflect what younger audience members could relate to or identify as a "new normal" or "modern family." Will could have had great stories beyond his love life and his sexuality. He could have become a great investigative reporter, developed some real skills and used them in storylines that intersected with the Salem PD, ISA, or other things altogether. Instead, they had a very pathetic attempt of a reporter figure in Nicole Walker, who was essentially a tabloid reporter. Will could have been the serious minded journalist who uncovered real mysteries, or been a character who brought real issues into the forefront. Does anyone remember when soaps used to do that? Sure, they were shows for entertainment but they used to also talk about societal issues. Not so much anymore.
Sami Brady being gone though, I have to say, in the few years I have watched her, she was one of the most over dramatic and over used characters . She seemed to suck the air out of all other storylines. And now, with Will's death, I think this will be yet another repeat storyline for her. She already lost Grace, a child who she believed and raised to be hers. So now they are giving her yet another child she has to bury? And this is after they repeated a rape storyline with her character too? When shows start to repeat stories for the same character, I think that is a sign of trouble. No original thought coming from writers, just rather a hope that having these grand events (i.e. Will's death) will generate enough shock among viewers and therefore interest in the show. I will be very curious to see if this is the approach the writers will take with the show. And furthermore, I am curious to see if the show will survive past its 51st year.

I agree that killing Will off is a waste, especially coming on the heels of other deaths that were not mourned properly, but I have to disagree with you about Nicole. Nicole was far from pathetic. She had a boss who had no ethics and only cared about ratings and was constantly fighting with him because she wanted to investigate real things while he wanted her to do garbage. This was not developed to its full potential, with Miles being mainly a voice on the phone who Nicole said no to. Will, on the other hand, worked for a sleazy magazine and had no qualms whatsoever about doing unethical things. If anyone should have been the next investigative reporter, Nicole's career potential should been developed instead of aborted in favor of this Basic Black storyline.
