I kept picturing the Orbit girl popping up in Chloe's office... "Dirty mouth? Try Orbit..."

Glad that Philip brushed his teeth before the kiss. Had to laugh at his internal dialogue about the possibility of being pushed off the roof. I doubt Chloe would ever do something like that. Great chapter, Kpatch!

wonder what happens next, I feel like there is a direct point to the roof, and it's not to push Philip off of it lol

I liked Philip's thoughts as he went up the stairs to meet Chloe. I'm glad she initiated the kiss. I wonder what she will say to him.

Chapter 63b
Chloe shocked Philip by putting her arms around him and pulling him into an open-mouthed kiss. He melted into the passionate surprise, sliding his arms around her, dipping her backwards a little, and forcing her to hold him tighter to keep from falling.
Slowly, he set her back in an upright position and broke the kiss, but not the embrace. He lightly brushed his nose against hers. “Thank you for forgiving me,” he said quietly.
“I was so afraid I’d lost you,” Chloe confessed. “That we’d never be together, that all my fears were founded.”
“You haven’t lost me,” he said with quiet reassurance. Looking deeply into her eyes, he gently ran his knuckles down her cheek and pushed her hair back with his fingers. “We’ve worked so hard to get things right between us and I nearly screwed everything up. You do believe me … about Monica I mean. Right?”
“Of course,” she replied, still holding the back of his neck. “Why wouldn’t I?”
Breaking the gaze, Philip looked off at the skyline in the distance. “Oh, I don’t know. There’ve been times I’ve done less, and you accused me of doing more.”
“Oh that,” Chloe said with a chuckle.
Surprised by her flippant response, Philip leaned away but didn’t let her out of his arms. “Oh that??”
“Philip, that’s in the past, okay?” she said sincerely. “I get what happened with Monica today. And why. … You explained it.”
Philip raised his brows. This seemed way too easy. “And you believe it.”
“Of course. I trust you,” she insisted.
Did he hear that right? “Um. You … could you repeat that?”

It sounds like Philip is so convinced that Chloe DOES have trust issues that will be a dealbreaker that he can't accept that she's okay with this.

I'm with Philip. This is way to easy. It's easy to say the words, but what is she really thinking?

I am still wondering if the roof was just a private spot or is there a specific reason to it

Well, I'm glad Chloe trusts him, and believes him about the Monica situation, Great chapter, Kpatch.

I'm glad Chloe believes Philip's explanation. The rooftop seems like a good place to have a conversation.

Chapter 63c
“I get what happened with Monica today,” Chloe said sincerely. “And why. You explained it.”
Philip raised his brows. This seemed way too easy. “And you believe it.”
“Of course. I trust you,” she insisted.
Did he hear that right? “Um. You … could you repeat that?”
“I said….” Chloe’s eyes widened. “Oh. Oh my.” She looked away for a minute before looking back at him. “I said I trust you, didn’t I?”
“Yes, that’s what you said. So … You mean it?”
“Yeah,” Chloe replied with a huge smile on her face. “I really mean it. I really trust you.” Chloe moved closer to Philip and rested her chin on his shoulder. “This is big.”
“I know! It’s huge,” he said, in semi-shock. “Chloe, I’m so happy.”
“So am I. It feels like a breakthrough or something.”
Smiling, Philip held her close and stroked her hair. “We should celebrate.”
“Not so fast,” she said, stepping away. “We have to talk.”
Knitting his brow, he said, “I thought that’s what we’ve been doing.”
“We were, but that was about us. Philip, we need to talk to HR and tell Edith what happened with Monica before she hears a different kind of story from Monica. We need to head this off at the pass.”
Philip nodded slowly and swallowed hard. “I agree. I need to do the right thing before this turns into a scandal.”
“I’ll go with you,” Chloe offered.
“Really?”
“I think it’ll be easier,” she explained. “It will show Edith that I’m on your side, that I trust you, and it will help diffuse the situation a little.”
“Strength in numbers,” Philip noted.
“Exactly.”
He held out his hand. “Ready?”
Chloe took Philip’s hand and they walked back to the door leading to the stairs. Philip turned the knob, but it didn’t move. “Uh oh. We’re trapped out here.” He released her hand and reached inside his pants pocket for his cell phone.
Chloe stepped in front of him and waved her I.D. badge at the infrared light in the little box next to the door. As soon as a “click” sounded, she turned the doorknob.
Philip’s jaw dropped.
“I told you,” Chloe laughed. “I come up here for lunch sometimes.”

That was sweet. LOL at Phlip thinking they were trapped up there. It'll be interesting to see what happens with HR. I hope the HR person is more understanding than Anne Milbauer would be. Can we please have previews Kpatch?
