What kind of person takes advantage of another person's sadness like this? (That's a rhetorical question  ) We need to find some stairs for Monica to climb and disappear! And the sooner it happens, the better! |

I'm glad Philip pulled away, but he should have thought of all of those words BEFORE Monica sat down. Doesn't he have a secretary or assistant that would be screening visitors? She would know that Philip did not summons Monica to his office....which is the claim that I see coming from Monica in the very near future.

Philip this is not good. He needs to be honest with Chloe. Hopefully Monica doesn't go to HR about this.

Good point, mae00 -- if Philip's assistant let Monica just waltz into his office unannounced, s/he should be looking for a new job! Philip probably has the same secretary Marlena has. LOL. Knowing Monica, she would have told the secretary that Philip was expecting her, that she has a meeting with him to discuss branding concepts. |

Chapter 61b
Monica walked closer to Philip. “I know you’re in favor of office romances. You told me so yourself.”
He put his hands up so that his palms faced her. “Stop. I’m not playing games. I don’t want to hurt your feelings, Monica, but…” he hesitated for a moment. He almost said something about his feelings for Chloe, but he didn’t think that was the right way to handle Monica. He told himself to keep this as professional as possible — under the circumstances. “I’m not looking for a relationship or an affair or anything of the kind. This shouldn’t have happened and it won’t happen again. Is that understood?”
Monica’s lips parted. She collected her thoughts before speaking. “That’s really too bad. You’re a great kisser.”
Philip closed his eyes in an effort to stay calm. Under other circumstances, he’d have been shouting, but this was his place of business.
When he opened his eyes, Monica was gone. “Oh my god.” He walked over to the leather sofa and flopped into it, head in his hands. This could lead to big trouble, he realized. He mentally kicked himself for letting it happen. He was thinking of Chloe when he kissed Monica, but that was no excuse.
“Wait a minute.” Philip rose from the sofa as something dawned on him, clear as day. He blinked a few times as if something was registering in his brain. “Oh my god.” He snapped his fingers. “Of course.” A moment later, he bolted out of his office.

Why do I have the feeling that he's running to Dr Richards to bare his soul?
Monica needs a new job. Where does Philip's company have subsidiaries? India? Hong Kong? Moscow? I'd like to see her a full continent away...
