Just got caught back up.
THIS is the anger that he's bottled up inside and has refused to release. This is why him & Chloe both are so freaking self-destructive and aggravating to me. What he doesn't realize is that he's always lived in this limbo. He had his rose colored glasses on and refused to see the reality of what was going on around him. He locked away his feelings and heart to keep from hoping that it wouldn't happen again when deep down he was always waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Philip has a lot of thinking that he needs to do. Yes Chloe has trust issues, and he needs to understand that about her. However, he also has to decide if he can live with those trust issues. If he can deal with her constantly jumping to assumptions. If she can't overcome them, then this will be their life whether he likes it or not. Chloe also needs to learn what Philip needs from her. She can't expect him to keep on giving, going, and waiting for her to figure out whatever it is she needs to figure out without giving him something in return.

to be perfectly honest, from a professional point of view I highly disagree with dr. Richards methods, then again I don't really care for marriage councillors so I suppose this is very realistic in my mind, just really disappointing I wont go into big details on the subject as I am VERY opinionated on it and other's clearly believe in this stuff and that's great for them so I will leave it at that I really hope the two of them can over come this because they were doing really well

Philip needed to let his anger out but this was certainly not the time or the place. It's no wonder Chloe reacted that way.

Chapter 59a
Chloe was still fuming the next morning when she arrived at her office, her arms overloaded with stuff — her laptop, briefcase, handbag and cup of coffee from the lobby Starbucks downstairs. She dropped Parker at daycare and she seriously hoped she wouldn’t run into Philip today. Or tomorrow. Or the next day. Or ever.
She was literally seething over Philip’s 180 last night. After the last few months of dating and trying so hard to repair their relationship and making what she thought was great progress toward the future she’d always dreamed of, he tells her he’s miserable?? There was absolutely no indication up until a few days ago that anything was wrong. Until then, he’d been sweet and romantic and affectionate and flirtatious and attentive. They were talking and enjoying each other's company and he seemed to be just as happy as she was with the way things were developing. Then boom! Out of the clear blue sky, he proclaims he’s miserable. What the hell?
How did Chloe miss the signs this was coming? Had she known, she probably would have done what she usually did, and launch a preemptive strike, break up with him first before he had a chance to break her heart. That’s what she usually did to sabotage relationships. But this time she let her guard down and allowed herself to trust the man she loved. She thought that meant she was making progress, and the efforts they put forth during therapy and on their own was working. How could she have been so wrong?
She’d been so excited to go to the opera with him just like the old days when they were married and had their monthly date night. But instead of seeing the performance, she ended up taking a cab home, and he stayed at the theater. “Well I hope he enjoyed himself,” she hissed, tossing her handbag on her desk.
“Oh no!”
When she threw her handbag, it hit the coffee cup, tipped it over, and now coffee was leaking out of the hole in the lid and onto the papers on her desk. “Damn it!” She righted the coffee cup, but the damage had been done.
“I’ll get some paper towels,” she heard a voice say as they passed the open door to Chloe’s office.

Please don't let Chloe and Philip fight in the office.... Please don't let Chloe and Philip fight in the office.... Please don't let Chloe and Philip fight in the office....
If it turns out that Dr Richards set this whole situation up on purpose, I'll be getting on board the "Fire Dr Richards" train. I just don't see how this is beneficial and, even if it is, surely there would be another way to tackle the problem she's addressing.

I think Dr Richards should have been less direct and used questions to help Philip come to his own conclusions about this. However, the real problem is still the same. Philip didn't communicate his concerns. He just acted on them. No wonder Chloe is bewildered and hurt. A fight might be a good thing, to clear the air and get past this. Great chapter Kpatch!

Wonder who's gonna be the one to clean it up. I agree that Dr. Richards' methods may be a bit off base this time. However, Philip should also have been more direct with Chloe and expressed himself. Great chapter, Kpatch!

I feel bad for Chloe. She was completely blindsided on their date. Maybe she should have taken a sick day.

Chapter 59b
When she threw her handbag, it hit the coffee cup, tipped it over, and now coffee was leaking out of the hole in the lid and onto the papers on her desk. “Damn it!” She righted the coffee cup, but the damage had been done.
“I’ll get some paper towels,” she heard a voice say as they passed Chloe’s office. A minute later, a woman came rushing in with a roll of paper towels. She tore off a bunch and handed the roll to Chloe, who, together with the woman, blotted up the spilled latte.
“Thank you,” Chloe said, finally looking up at the woman. She did a double take. “Monica.”
“What a mess, huh?”
Monica didn’t know the half of it. “Yeah, everything’s a mess.”
“How did this happen?” Monica asked sympathetically.
I wanted to throw my coffee in Philip’s face, but since he wasn’t here, I decided to just dump it all over my desk, Chloe said to herself. “Just clumsy.”
“I’ll go get some wet toweling so it doesn’t get sticky.”
“No, it’s fine. You’ve done enough,” Chloe said with a small smile that did little to cover up her true emotions. “I can manage from here.”
“Not to be nosy,” Monica commented, “but you look upset and I don’t think it’s the spilled coffee. If you want to talk.…”
“I definitely do not want to talk,” Chloe said as sweetly, yet firmly as she could. There was a time when she thought of Monica as public enemy number one, but that was all in her head. At this point, she was pretty neutral toward Monica and had no reason not to be nice. But she didn’t feel like airing her dirty laundry to the girl.
“Hmmm. That’s funny. Philip looked pretty hot under the collar too when I saw him this morning.” She tossed a wet pile of used paper toweling into the waste basket. Looking at Chloe with empathy, she asked, “Trouble in Paradise?”
“Actually, there is no Paradise,” Chloe blurted, mindlessly throwing her dirty laundry in the wind. Then under her breath, Chloe muttered, “Never was, never will be. At least not for Philip and me.”
“Oh. Hmm. Sorry. I thought you two were back together.”
“Well, we’re not,” Chloe replied a little too quickly.
“Oh.” Monica drew a breath. “Um. Sorry … to hear that. Anyway, I’d better be getting back to my desk. I hope the rest of your day goes better than it started,” Monica said as she walked backwards out of Chloe’s office. “Let’s have lunch sometime.”
Smiling, Chloe nodded. “Thank you, Monica. Really, I appreciate your help. ” Before Chloe finished her sentence, Monica was gone.

Well, THAT'S definitely not who I thought was walking by Chloe's office! Now....what's Monica going to do?

Wow. Okay. So I wonder whose side Monica is on, really. Will she try to help or will she try to take advantage of the situation?

was it me or was Monica stirring up more trouble? that was a classic display of instigating a more escalated fight I hope Chloe doesn't fall for it
