Oh what a tease. LOL. I'm glad Chloe has enough sense to not go to that movie! Now I really can't wait to see their date.

Chapter 14a
That night, Chloe and Philip were holding hands while waiting in line to see “Casablanca” at the Pickwick Theater, a local movie house that showcases classic films.
His hand felt so warm holding hers, so much like home, as if they were born this way. For her, it felt like the way it was always meant to be. She only wished she hadn’t put him through so much in the past year. She knew she eroded his belief in her. What she didn’t know is if she could win it back.
“How did you like your dinner,” Philip asked, snapping her out of her thoughts.
“I love Thai food. I don’t think I’ve had any since I first moved to Chicago.” Chloe looked toward the box office for a second, then back up at Philip. She gazed at his profile as he stood beside her. Even though it was late August, it was on the cool side in Chicago, and he was wearing the leather jacket he bought himself Christmas before last. Everything about Philip evoked a memory of their long, rich history together. There were so many aspects of their lives that were commingled, so many memories — little and big — that tied them together. But she wouldn’t have it any other way.
He noticed she was staring at him. “What’s wrong?” he asked, rubbing his jaw with his free hand. “Do I have curry on my chin?”
“No,” she laughed and touched his chin. “But … I have a confession.”
“Already?”

What a sweet beginning to the date! Casablanca is a much better choice for a first date movie too. And the banter was cute And then... It was Friday and Kpatch is going to make us wait all weekend to find out what Chloe's confession is. Will there be previews?

Thai food and Casablanca? I want to tag along on Chloe and Philip's next date--maybe Lucas and I can double with them? Could we get just a tiny preview, please?

Almond Joys and margaritas for previews! You remembered some of my favorites LOL!
Thanks for your readership and comments everyone. Here's a little preview of the week ahead….
The date continues with the confession, some reminiscing, some pondering, conflicted emotions, and musings about the future.
On which side of the door will the date end? Inside or outside?

Chapter 14b
Waiting in line at the movie, Chloe said, "I have a confession.”
“Already?”
“I have butterflies in my stomach.”
He squinted at her, a little confused. “Is that the confession, or the prelude to the confession?”
“No. That is the confession.”
“Okaaaay. Why do you have butterflies?”
Chloe blushed. “Nervous. Excited.”
“About?”
A little embarrassed, Chloe rested her forehead against Philip’s arm. “About this. Our date. If I told you how ecstatic I am to be here with you, it would probably terrify you.”
Philip smiled and draped his arm around her shoulder, squeezing her toward his body. “Are you kidding me? You should know by now that there’s no way you can scare me away.” He kissed the top of her head. “Besides, I know exactly how you feel.”
“Really? You mean, you feel them too? The butterflies?”
“I do,” he nodded in agreement. “Every time I’ve been with you for the past sixteen years.”
She rolled her eyes. “You do not.”
“Okay. Almost every time.” He looked into her blue eyes and sighed. “Every time you enter a room, it’s like prom night all over again and I’m seeing you for the first time without your dark clothes and glasses.”
“My big Last Blast reveal." Chloe leaned her head on Philip’s shoulder. "Oh what a night,” she sang, somewhat mockingly.
“Hey. It was for me. Life-changing, in fact,” Philip remembered.
Chloe lifted her head off Philip’s shoulder and looked at him. “For me too.”
Philip leaned closer and kissed Chloe’s lips. “I’m glad you suggested going out tonight,” he said sincerely. “Still nervous?”
She looked into his eyes and felt herself relax a little. “Not so much.” She turned her head to face forward. “Oh hey. Line’s moving.”
