Chapter 13b
“So, um. I’m not sure exactly how this is done,” Chloe said hesitantly, “but I want to ask you out on a date.”
He looked at her with surprise. “Um. Oh! Okay. I had no idea what you were going to say. But this is good.” He kissed her hand again. “So what did you have in mind.”
“Not sure yet, but definitely something that doesn’t wind up in the bedroom.”
“Good plan. … Wait.” Philip looked upward, then around the room. “Who just said that?”
Chloe giggled. “It sounded a lot like you.”
He scratched his head. “Who’d have thought? That may be the first time in my life I endorsed a date not ending up in the bedroom.”
Looking askance at him, Chloe asked, “So should I be flattered or insulted?”
Squeezing her hand, he quickly answered, “Definitely flattered. What I feel for you goes way deeper than just physical.”
“I like that,” she smiled.
Philip’s eyes locked with Chloe’s and they looked at each other for a long minute. Feeling the sexual tension building, Philip broke the gaze and inhaled. “So, when would you like to go out?”
“I was thinking about tonight. That is, if you’re free. I checked with Lucinda and she has her god-daughter staying over, so she said she’d be happy to have Parker stay over at her place too.”
Licking his lips, Philip wondered if that was a good plan, but since Chloe was in charge of the date, he decided to just go with it. “Perfect. How about a movie?”
“I haven’t been to a movie in a long time,” Chloe confessed. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ears and smiled a little shyly. “I’m kind of dying to see 50 Shades of Grey.”

Chapter 13c
“I haven’t been to a movie in a long time,” Chloe confessed. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ears and smiled a little shyly. “I’m kind of dying to see 50 Shades of Grey but I might want to wait a few months.”
“Why?”
“Seriously Philip? You do know about 50 Shades, right?”
“I’ve heard of it, but if you’re asking if I've ever read it….”
“I read it and it’s extremely erotic. And as you know, I’m already hot and bothered enough without any external titillation.”
“Ah. I see what you’re saying. So no Shades.” Philip glanced toward the computer on his desk. “Why don’t I check the local movies online and come up with some options. Dinner first?”
“I asked you out, remember? So I’ll do the checking, but yes, dinner first.” Chloe looked into Philip’s eyes for a moment too long. She leaned forward to kiss him when his desk phone buzzed.
Releasing her hand, he patted it and said, “I’d better get that.” Philip got up and walked back to his desk.
“I need to get some work done too,” she said, getting up from the couch. “I’ll call you later and we’ll set a time.”
Putting his headset on, he told Chloe, “I can hardly wait.” He winked at her, then answered his phone. “Kiriakis here.”
