 By SOD • Posted: Jul 6, 2015 With Stephen Nichols (Steve) back in Salem, Tamara Braun (ex-Carly, GH et al) has returned as Ava Vitali, the role that won her an Emmy in 2009. She is already filming and will first air on December 9. The actress last appeared as Taylor Walker, Nicole’s sister, in 2011, after assuming the role from Natalia Livingston. TV Guide’s Michael Logan broke the news.

its awesome shes returning to Days. i just fiqured she would return as Nicoles sister Taylor..but shes returning to her first role on Days as Ava. Ava's the reason Grandpa Shawn died back in 2008. i know ken said going forward when a charater dies..they stay dead. but id so love for Grandpa shawn to still be alive and being held by the Dimera's for the last 7 years! let Granapa shawn be the last to return from the dead. then nomore. Well I know a lot of people liked this actress and character but I never did. There are SO MANY other characters I would rather see return. The only positive thing I have to say about it is thank goodness she's not returning as Taylor.

I love TB, but I am so happy she's not back as Taylor!! I don't remember her as Ava so I will have to reserve judgment on the character.
I'm loving all the casting news we are hearing lately! TB and Sarah Brown (who both played Carly on GH before joining Days) are two of my daytime favorites. I wish Madison weren't dead. She was the most functional relationship Brady has ever had.

Tamara Braun is probably the last actress I want to see on DAYS in any role. She was irritating as Ava and horrible as Taylor. She was not important enough of a character to be brought back for any reason. Yuck.

I wasn't watching when Ava was on, but I just read her character bio and I'm at a loss as to what the point of bringing this character back is. I hope she's only on for a few episodes as a tribute to the 50th. This is the first character that I'm totally unexcited about and want gone before they arrive.

We have to give TB some credit. Someone liked her to submit her name for an Emmy and enough voters chose her over the others. There aren't too many women from DOOL with an Emmy. Wasn't she the first female to snag one since Suzanne Rogers in like 1981? John_and_Marlena_Fan, I am so with you on Grandpa Shawn! He is needed in Salem. Victor and Stefano may be the heads of their families, but they aren't exactly the moral center of Salem. When Steve goes and saves Bo, I hope he finds Shawn too. (That last sentence is totally speculation on my part and what I want to see, not based on any spoilers.) |

BTW, I'm totally willing to say in December "I was wrong. Ava is horrid!" so someone save this thread in case I have to change my opinion on TB like I did for Melissa Archer. I seriously used to love her, but Serena has been such an unnecessary and ridiculous character since her first scene that I'm over MA.

hi unavitasegreta, i loved MA when she played natalie on oltl but as Serena mason i hate her lol all that bitch has to do is confess and Xander will be put away for a longtime. he wont be around to harm Eric. she will be gone soon and good riddens!
as for Grandpa Shawn i soo hope they bring him back..frank parker who played him is still very much alive and hes only 76 yrs old..just had a birthday on july 1 he was born in 1939 hes younger then caroline and victor and stefano..come on ken corday bring him back ♥

I loved the idea of Ava Vitali more than what was actually done with the character on-screen. I think of the two roles, Ava showcased Tamara Braun better. Am I excited about this? Meh. But if it will help explain Steve's (or Bo's) absence I'm all for a little intrigue and crime family drama, if that's what she's being brought back for.

id think that too but Steve and Bo are returning in Sept..Ava is returning in Dec  i think bo and steves returns are linked to the return of Andre Dimera cause he also returns in Sept. |

Yes I too wonder if Ava is connected to the DiMeras and that is what brings her back to town? Because maybe she somehow is in cahoots with Andre or she will ultimately be the big bad villainess of Salem that is just as lethal if not more than Andre

Tamara Braun is Back as Ava it has been comfined by Tamara her airdate is Dec 9 2015
