Chapter 8

ALAMAIN MANSION
Nicole finished walking down the stairs. Neither she nor Sydney could take their eyes off each other.
NICOLE: It's been...such a long time.
SYDNEY: Yeah, it has.
NICOLE: You look so beautiful.
SYDNEY: Thanks. You look nice, too.
CERI: Wait, you two know each other?
SYDNEY: Remember when I told you that, when I was a baby, everyone thought that a woman named Nicole was my mom?
CERI: Yeah.
There was silence for a minute.
CERI: Oh. Wait, you mean, this is that Nicole?
NICOLE: Yeah.
Then, Sydney and Nicole ran to each other and hugged.
SYDNEY: I've missed you!
NICOLE: I've missed you, too, Syd!

SALEM P.D.
Jeannie took a step back when she opened her office door and saw Shane.
JEANNIE: What are you doing here?
SHANE: I came to see you, love.
JEANNIE: Why are you here? And why now?
SHANE: Why shouldn't I be here?
JEANNIE: I can give you any list of reasons.
SHANE: May I come in?
JEANNIE: If you must.
Jeannie stepped to the side. Shane walked in.
SHANE: I wanted to see you, Jeannie. That's all.
JEANNIE: Well, it's been a long time, hasn't it?
SHANE: It has.
Jeannie snapped her fingers.
JEANNIE: Aha!
SHANE: What?
JEANNIE: That's how I know you're lying.
SHANE: What on earth are you talking about, love?
JEANNIE: It's a nice disguise. Really, it is. See, here's the thing, I know you're not my father. Because I just got off the phone with him. He and my mother are spending the week in Brighton with Andrew, my brother.
SHANE: Oh.
JEANNIE: And it hasn't been long at all since I last saw him. I saw him the day they left for their airport.
The person we have assumed to be Shane took a deep breath.
SHANE: Well, then, I have chosen a most inconvenient time to resurface, haven't I?
JEANNIE: Yep. You sure have.
In the office next door, Bo was on the telephone with Hope.
BO: I've been thinking, Fancy Face...
HOPE (over phone): Don't hurt yourself.
Bo chuckled.
BO: Not likely. It was close, though. Anyway, something confuses me about Shane being here. He said that Kim was back in L.A. But, that can't be true. They live here now, and they only just left at the beginning of the week to visit Andrew.
HOPE (over phone): Oh, I know. I was just going along with it so as not to let him know I'm onto him.
BO: What do you mean?
HOPE (over phone): Bo, that man who visited us last night is not really Shane.
BO: Yeah, I gathered that. So, who is he?

I want to know that too, Bo. Has Shane's evil brother Drew resurfaced? Nice twist.

Oh wow, it never occurred to me that it wasn't Shane. I wonder who it really is. I'm going with heroicmuse's guess.

Sweet reunion for Sydney and Nicole!

I never imagined Nicole would be Ceri and Rhiannon's mom. Great twist!

I have an idea who Topher is.

I wonder why someone is impersonating Shane.

Chapter 9

ALAMAIN MANSION
Nicole, Ceri and Sydney were sitting in the main room.
SYDNEY: Then, we moved back to Salem, after my mom's contract ended. By that time, you must have already moved away to Wales.
NICOLE: I had. I was tired of being pushed around and treated like dirt by that wannabe saint. And Eric the fallen priest didn't treat me much better, either. So, one day I decided, “hell with it. Neither of those two are good enough for me, anyway.” So, I went to Wales, met Nicholas, and had two beautiful daughters. But, occasionally, I did miss Salem.
SYDNEY: Well, you're back now.
NICOLE: Yep. And I am so glad that you and Ceri found each other.
SYDNEY: Me too. She's amazing.
Sydney kissed Ceri on the cheek.
CERI: So are you. Both of you.
Ceri kissed Sydney on the cheek and hugged Nicole.
NICOLE: When Ceri first told me that she had a girlfriend named Sydney, I had hoped...looks like I was right.
SYDNEY: Yeah.
NICOLE: So, you two ready to graduate?
CERI: Almost. There's two more weeks left.
NICOLE: Well, two weeks goes by quickly.

SALEM P.D.
BO: So, who is he?
HOPE (over phone): There's only one person who looks like Shane, but isn't.
BO: Who's that?
HOPE (over phone): I'll give you a guess.
Bo thought for a moment.
BO: Oh, I've got it! That guy from The Nanny!
Hope sighed.
HOPE (over phone): No, Bo. He looks nothing like Shane! Try again.
Bo thought for another moment.
BO: Oh...
Back in Jeannie's office...
JEANNIE: So, let's have the truth, then.
DREW: Fine. You're right. I”m not your father. But, I am your uncle.
JEANNIE: Uncle Drew.
DREW: It's good to see you again, love. I haven't seen you since...
JEANNIE: You kidnapped me and helped Stefano clone me to make Theresa!
DREW: Kidnapped is such a strong word.
JEANNIE: No, kidnapped is the perfect word, because that's exactly what you did. What are you doing here, anyway?
DREW: I have returned at last, after thirty-eight years, to have my revenge.
JEANNIE: How exactly are you here, anyway? Last I heard from my father, you were doing time in a French prison. Something about trying to steal an entire portion of the Eiffel Tower, wasn't it?
DREW: Oh, I did my time. They found me shortly after I cloned you, and I did fifteen years. That's why it took me so long to get back. But, I have escaped.
JEANNIE: And what have you been doing in those fifteen years?
DREW: Waiting, planning. Plotting my revenge.
JEANNIE: So, you've kept busy?
DREW: Oh, yes, I have been busy. Fifteen years in a French prison teaches a man to hate. Fifteen years of wearing perfume. Fifteen years of eating snails. Fifteen years of saying (in a French accent) “Pardon”.
JEANNIE: Hey, they're protective over that Eiffel Tower.
DREW: But, alas, this reunion must be cut short. I have some other business to be attending to. You'll be seeing more of me, Jeannie.
Drew jumped out the window of Jeannie's office, just as Bo opened the door.
JEANNIE: He got away.
BO: Well, we'll catch him.

So that's why Theresa is the way she is! Makes perfect sense. LOL

Nice in-joke about the Nanny btw.

I also got a kick out of the Nanny reference. And all the things Drew had to do in the French prison. It doesn't sound so awful frankly. Thanks for setting things right with Jeannie/Teresa.

See, now I think there is some connection between Drew and Topher. And Topher might be a clone.

Chapter 10

SALEM P.D.
Jeannie was now in Bo's office. Bo was on his computer.
BO: Drew Donovan.
JEANNIE: Yep. Found anything?
Bo typed in a few more words on his computer.
BO: Yep. Take a look at this.
Jeannie walked to the other side of Bo's desk and looked at the screen.
BO: Andrew Donovan III, son of Jeannie and Andrew Donovan II – boy, you guys sure do like to keep names in the family, don't you?
JEANNIE: It's a tradition. My brother's about to have his first son, and I'll bet you can't guess what name they've chosen for him.
BO: Shane?
JEANNIE: Nope, but that'll be his middle name. Andrew Donovan V.
BO: Impressive.
JEANNIE: Back to business. Let's see, wanted for two counts of kidnapping. One of those was me.
BO: The other was Carrie.
JEANNIE: Several counts of fraud, corporate espionage, illegal drug trafficking, attempted theft...
BO: Yeah, what's that one all about?
JEANNIE: It's tied into a fraud case. He claimed to be an heir to the man who built the Eiffel Tower, tried to steal a portion of it and sell it on the black market.
Bo whistled.
JEANNIE: Let's see, dishonorable discharge from the ISA, two counts of...murder? Who did he kill?
BO: A kung-fu master from Thailand, and a woman named Ellen Hawk. You may know of her son, Benjy.
JEANNIE: Oh, yeah. Huh.
BO: Well, I would call your father, in fact I tried to earlier, but he must be out of cell phone range.
JEANNIE: He forgot his charger at home. But, I know how we can get ahold of him, and someone else who can help us.
Jeannie pulled out her phone and dialed a number.
JEANNIE: Hey, it's me.
Pause.
JEANNIE: Good. Confused, but good. You?
Pause.
JEANNIE: I'll explain later. Hey, do you think you and dad could come out here? We're in a bit of a family emergency, and could really use your guys' help.
Pause.
JEANNIE: Okay, great. Tell mom I love her.
Pause.
JEANNIE: See you soon, bye.
Jeannie hung up her phone.

APARTMENT
Topher was sitting on the couch, reading a magazine. There was a knock on the door. Topher put down the book. Another knock came.
TOPHER: All right. I'm coming. I'm coming. Don't flip your lid.
Topher opened the door.
TOPHER: Well, I was wondering when you would be showing up. Hello, mother.
Into the apartment walked Kristen DiMera.
KRISTEN: Hello, my darling Christopher.

[Kpatch]

I thought Jeannie was talking to her dad but I guess not. Maybe she was calling Andrew. Can't wait to see the real Shane.

And OMG. Christopher! That was a good one, André DiMera. I NEVER would have guessed. Awesome twist.

I'm with Kpatch. That was a great twist! I thought Topher was related to Peter but never would have guessed his connection to Kristen or that Topher was short for Christopher

I was thinking he was related to Peter too.

Chapter 11

APARTMENT
Kristen and Topher hugged.
TOPHER: It's nice to see you as well, mother. But, I told you, I prefer Topher.
KRISTEN: Hey, I'm your mother, and I'll call you whatever I want to call you. Understand?
TOPHER: Yes, mother.
KRISTEN: Has your grandfather checked in yet?
TOPHER: Every day since I got here.
KRISTEN: Excellent. So, how are you getting on in school?
TOPHER: Fine, so far. It's nothing special, really. Eton was much better.
KRISTEN: I'm sure. But, if our plan is to work, you need to be here.
DREW: Well, I'm afraid that the plan won't be working, after all.
Neither of them had noticed that Drew had snuck in through a window.
KRISTEN: How did you get here so fast?
DREW: Believe me, Kristen, even a disgraced former ISA agent would know how to scale and break into a building with a severely outdated, at best, security system.
KRISTEN: Hm. What do you mean that the plan won't be working?
DREW: In my haste to begin the plan, I have been careless. I was discovered.
KRISTEM: By whom?
DREW: Jeannie, my niece. No doubt, Bo and Hope Brady also have their suspicions, but I don't think they know for sure.
KRISTEN: Great. That's just awesome. You've managed to derail our entire operation before it's even begun. Well done.
TOPHER: Not quite, mother. I have an idea.
Topher whispered something to Kristen and Drew. Kristen smiled deviously.
KRISTEN: That's my boy.

O'HAIRE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Bo and Jeannie sat in a terminal, watching people get off of an incoming airplane. They both stood, as they saw a figure they recognized.
SHANE: Evening, all.
JEANNIE: Hi, dad.
Shane and Jeannie.
SHANE: Hello, my love. How are you?
JEANNIE: Okay. You?
SHANE: I'm good.
Shane and Bo shook hands.
SHANE: Partner.
BO: Partner. You got here quick.
SHANE: Well, when Jeannie told us about the situation, we hopped on a plane as soon as we could.
There was no need to explain the “we”, as a second figure walked up.
JEANNIE: Andrew!
Jeannie and Andrew hugged.
ANDREW: Hey, sis. Uncle Bo.
Bo and Andrew hugged.
BO: Good to see you, man.
JEANNIE: Where's mom?
ANDREW: Well, Greta's due to have our child any day now, so mum decided she would stay with her, in case he comes while dad and I are here.
BO: Gotcha.
SHANE: So it is really him?
JEANNIE: Oh, yeah. It's really him.
BO: We'll discuss things on the way home. We'll start the search in the morning.
ANDREW: Good idea.

I'm glad Shane and Andrew have arrived in Salem.

I'm wondering what Drew, Kristen and Topher have in store for the gold people of Salem.
