Released May 13, 2012 Title: Hold On to Me Song: Hold On (edited) Artist: Michael Bublé Summary: As Maggie and Victor grow closer, they hold on to one another while struggling over their contrasting principles. When I heard this song on the radio I couldn't stop thinking about how well it fit the Magic story. I debated long and hard about editing the song. I played around with cutting it several ways and when I got this version I started visualizing the sequences immediately so I went with it. But after I put it all together I didn't like how the first 2 minutes seemed to drag. I tried "fixing" it a bunch of different ways but all that did was make it feel chopped up and the back half totally lose it's impact. That's when I realized this is really all about how amazing John and Suzanne are. If the video is blocked, there are other links at my LiveJournal.

Released June 2, 2012 Title: I Believe in Yesterday Song: Yesterday (edited) Artist: Wet Wet Wet Summary: Maggie walks out on Victor when she finds out that he has always known that Daniel is her biological son. Minutes after I finished watching the 5/21/12 episode I was searching for a song and saying over and over that I believe they will stay together. I finished this one pretty quickly. I was afraid I would lose interest in it if I didn't get it done before they got back together. Sometimes I think about reworking it to have some dialog scenes during the first part. Maybe someday I'll do a Director's Cut. If the video is blocked, there are other links at my LiveJournal.

Released September 22, 2012 Title: Without You Song: Better In Time (edited) Artist: Leona Lewis Song: Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word (edited) Artist: Blue (featuring Elton John) Summary: Maggie is fighting to let go and Victor is fighting to hang on. First half is Maggie's point-of-view, second half is Victor's and the very end is both. I was originally planning to do this as two separate videos and I was working on them simultaneously but then I realized they'd both have the same ending so I reworked them to go together. As for choosing the songs, I'd been sitting on "Better In Time" because it's totally Maggie. If it didn't fit something like this I was planning to use it with their earlier struggles. "Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word" was easy because poor Victor was so desperate to stop her and I had been thinking all through their discussion that he just needed to say he's sorry. The Hold on To Me video gave me chills! I love seeing Victor smile. It used to be such a rare occurrence before Maggie came into his life. Putting them together was genius. I'm enjoying these videos UhSir. You have such a talent for it.

I LOVE how the dialog is interspersed with the scenes and music. It's all so perfectly paired and transitioned. Great, great, great video! You feel the emotions and the pacing and forget that it's a music video because it is so seamless!

Kpatch, Thank you! That Victor sure doesn't make vidding easy. unavitasegreta, Those scenes have so much emotion! I had to stop working more than once because I'd start crying. It was very difficult to stay analytical while trimming out the scenes. They all were very intense!

Title: Maggie's Passion Song: I Don't Want To Be Your Mother (edited) Artist: Rachael Yamagata Summary: Fasten you seatbelt! Lots of love and fluff. So the story of how this video happened is: Hubby and I went to our little town movie theater to see "Hope Springs." They play movies a week or two after they open. There were about a dozen couples, including us. It was like we were in our own living room. Anyway, when the scene with this song came up I got completely distracted with thoughts about using it for a Magic video and I had a little trouble concentrating on the rest of the movie. But it's a good movie! I got the DVD when it came out. So, when we got home I made a beeline to the computer, found out the song, got it and started working out the video. 3 days later I had it finished but I thought, oh there are too many kisses, it's way off balance. So I went back at it and replaced one of the quick kisses with a hug. Perfect! If the video is blocked, there are other links at my LiveJournal.

Released June 30, 2013 Title: What Love Is Song: I Want to Know What Love Is (edited) Artist: Foreigner Artist: Tina Arena Summary: My attempt at showing how Maggie and Victor became good friends and then fell in love. I was listening to the radio and heard Tina Arena's version of my favorite song from one of my favorite bands. I'd already tried working the Foreigner version with a Victor point of view but I got stuck. The bridge in Tina's version was the answer and Lou Gramm doing backing vocals made it perfect! *whispers* I almost like Tina's version better than Foreigner's. *gasp* I added the scene after the credit purely out of silliness. Even after seeing it a hundred times, I still get a kick out of Victor's frustration and Maggie trying to hide that they got caught. If the video is blocked there are other links at my LiveJournal.

I love that last bit too. It's just like Victor to want to tell them to go away when the kids arrive at the most inopportune time!
