Yay. I hope this means there's still hope Higley and Griffin will rid Salem of Paige and Ben!

MA was miscast as Serena. The plot was horrible. She was incredible on OLTL. Days wasted her on this stupid storyline.

Whoever made the decision, it was a good one. Yet another bad character and bad storyline that should have never happened or at the very least, went on way too long. I don't know the actress from anything else but I wasn't impressed with her work on Days.

Yes, more cuts need to be made but this is a good start. They would be nuts to let Daniel Cosgrove go. Surely they know that.

Even if they have to break Hope/Aiden up, Daniel Cosgrove is too good to let go!  But I think Bo (if he's staying) needs to get a taste of what it's like to see HOpe with another man just like he did to her with Billie and Carly over the years.  (IMO Patrick doesn't count.)

I know I shouldn't get my hopes up with Higley, but things are just so bad right now that you can't help but be a little excited that maybe things will get better now.  Maybe.  I hope.

Personally, I could not watch Bo and Hope together again. That story has been told too many times and in too many ways. I have no interest in seeing a repeat of their supposed great love story again. The show took a big chance with Hope and Aiden, hoping that viewers would buy in. So many viewers did buy in, have become invested and are now annoyed about Bo's return. Dena Higley's tweet yesterday about it being "supercouple time in Salem" again was not well received by a lot of Haiden fans.

The behind the scenes behavior on both sides has soured me on any reunion for Bo and Hope.

dukeblue. I agree 100%. Hope has been held hostage long enough and Daniel Cosgrove has earned his place. Enough with the games.

I agree too @dukeblue. I had a sinking feeling in my stomach when I heard Bo was coming back.

Has anyone heard that Molly Burnett is leaving? I was reading another board - but I tend to be very selective and careful there because I don't like the heavy amount of actor bashing that they do - and I came across many posts where it seems like it's common knowledge among them that Melanie is heading out of Salem soon. Just curious if there's any truth to those rumors or if it's wishful thinking...?

I wonder if they're assuming that from an interview I saw where Eric Martsolf said Brady/Melanie will be short term. Jason47 says someone besides Serena is leaving by summer but has not revealed a name.

I'm not surprised that Melissa Archer was let go. Serena was shoved down our throats. Viewers were supposed to care about her secrets. We need to be interested in the character in order to care what she's hiding. Then we get stuck with this elephant saga. The character and the story are not working.

The thing is, if they were planning on Eric having this former love, they needed to foreshadow it. When he was talking to Brother Tim about church vs Nicole, nobody mentioned Serena. Marlena in her vendetta against Nicole never said she wished he'd looked up Serena. Then out of nowhere, there she is and we're supposed to take Eric's word for it that he was in love with her. Ugh.

Serena and Jordan were handled in the same horrible way. They were new characters with secrets and instead of letting the audience in on the secret so that maybe we could care a little, we were strung along until we couldn't care less.

Contrast that with the way Paul was introduced. We learned his secret very quickly, and were drawn in and we cared about him. THAT'S the way to introduce a new character.

You are exactly right Kpatch. I don't think it helped that Jordan rarely interacted with anyone but Rafe and Kate for so long.

I have no idea if Serena even likes Eric. Or does she just need the elephant statue? I don't think anyone knows or cares.

I've noticed that all new females seem to fail, but the males don't. It's like Tomlin couldn't come up with decent stories for the women: Sheryl. Jordan. Paige. Eve. Serena. Melanie (I know she's not "new" but since her return she's really had no story other than being a brat and having sex with Brady.) Whereas both Paul and Aiden have been fabulous additions and have compelling stories. I suppose Ben is the outlier. He's male and he also lacks a purpose. Maybe that ruins my theory!

I really wish Jay would come back!! On FB there are SO many people that want him back and want him to lose his long hair & beard lol Jay has SO many people that love his acting ability and miss seeing him on TV
