^^ Marlena should have claimed conflict of interest immediately and referred Jan to a different psychiatrist. Then again, we are talking about Marlena. When does she have a case that's not a conflict of interest?

Chapter 10

SALEM PLACE
Philip is walking around, waiting for somebody. After a few minutes, the person he is waiting for arrived.
PHILIP: Hey.
BELLE: Hey.
Philip and Belle hugged.
PHILIP: It's good to see you.
BELLE: It's good to see you, too, Philip.
PHILIP: So, where's Claire?
BELLE: Oh, I dropped her off with Caroline before I got here.
PHILIP: Aw! I wanted to see her!
BELLE: You'll get to see her. I'm gonna be in town for a little while.
Philip and Belle walked around until they got to the park. On the way, they made small talk, and caught up on what had been going on with each other.

PARK
Philip and Belle sat down on a park bench.
BELLE: So, you said you needed me to come home right away. When you called me, it sounded serious.
PHILIP: It is.
BELLE: Well, what's going on?
Philip thought about how to say what he was going to say.
PHILIP: Belle...you know I don't want to hurt you, right?
BELLE: Of course I know that, Philip.
PHILIP: I mean, I don't want to see you get hurt. That's why it's so hard for me to tell you what I have to tell you.
BELLE: I know that, Philip. We're good friends. We're close. We used to be married. I thought you were Claire's father for a while. I know you don't want me to get hurt. But, whatever it is that you have to tell me, you can say it.
PHILIP: Okay...here it goes.
Philip looked Belle in the eye.
PHILIP: Shawn is cheating on you with Jan Spears.

WOMEN'S PRISON
Marlena is in the visiting room with her twin sister, Samantha.
SAMANTHA: It's nice to see you, Marnie.
MARLENA: It's good to see you, too, Sam. How are you? Are they treating you well here?
SAMANTHA: Yeah, I'm fine. But, I think you came here to do more than just check up on how your sister is. Am I right?
MARLENA: Yes, you are.
SAMANTHA: What's going on, Marnie?
MARLENA: I need your help, Sam.
SAMANTHA: What can I help you with?
MARLENA: Now, I shouldn't even be telling you this. It's confidential information. But, I have a patient who recently got out of this exact prison. And I need you to tell me what you know about her, if you do know anything about her.
SAMANTHA: Well, I'll do whatever I can. Who is it?
MARLENA: She's a young woman. Mid to late 20s. Curly black hair. Her name is Jan Spears.
SAMANTHA: Oh, her.

Chapter 11

WOMEN'S PRISON
MARLENA: I take that to mean that you know who I'm talking about.
SAMANTHA: Yup, I do. Though, I wish I didn't. So, what do you need to know?
MARLENA: Anything you can tell me.
SAMANTHA: Jan was my cellmate. And she really was crazy. I mean seriously, certifiably crazy. The first night she was in here, she went into a whole song and dance number about why she was put in prison. She used to talk endlessly about some boy named Shawn. Say, isn't your son-in-law's name Shawn?
MARLENA: Yes, he is. He's married to my youngest daughter, Belle.
SAMANTHA: Oh, I remember Belle, now. She came to visit me every now and then. Anyway, Jan had mentioned Belle. Sounded to me like she really hated her. A few months after she was put in here, she started to change. She stopped talking about Shawn. I mean, she completely stopped talking about Shawn. She didn't go into fits of rage every time she thought about the name Belle. She even stopped the song and dance numbers. It was almost like she stopped being a psycho and became a normal person.
MARLENA: I see. Is there anything else that you can remember?
Samantha thought about it for a few minutes.
SAMANTHA: Nope. Nothing.
MARLENA: All right. Thank you, Sam.
Marlena got up to leave.
SAMANTHA: Marnie?
Marlena turned back to look at Samantha.
SAMANTHA: Why do you need to know so much about Jan Spears?
MARLENA: Sam, that's confidential information.
SAMANTHA: I'm in prison, Marnie. Who am I gonna tell?
MARLENA: Good point. Anyway, I need to know because Jan is my patient. And, I think she's having an affair with my son-in-lawn, Shawn.

PARK
BELLE: What?
PHILIP: Shawn is cheating on you with Jan Spears.
BELLE: I heard what you said. But, what? You've got to be kidding.
PHILIP: I wish I was. Believe me, Belle, I wish more than anything that I was kidding. But, I'm not.
BELLE: No. No, you can't be right. This can't be happening. Shawn loves me. We have a daughter together. He would never cheat on me.
PHILIP: What about that crazy girl, Gabbi, he one from that island Tinda Lao? What about the prostitute, Willow?
BELLE: Philip, are you trying to make me upset?
PHILIP: No. Belle, making you upset is the last thing that I want to do. I'm just trying to explain to you that what I'm telling you is the truth.
BELLE: I...I just...I need to leave. I have to go. I'll see you later, Philip.
Belle ran out of the park.

Boy, you don't have to twist Marlena's arm very hard for her to break patient confidentiality.

Shawn may be cheating on Belle in his heart, but I don't think he's cheating on her physically. Unless Philip is in the bedroom with Shawn and Jan (ew ... get me some baby shampoo to wash that mental image away), he has no right or reason to tell Belle that Shawn is cheating. Unless Philip wants her back. As Mrs. M said, Hmmmmm.

I am wondering if Jan and Philip are working together so Jan can get Shawn and Philip Breelle. It would make sense. Philip sure took advantage when Jan kiddnapped Shawn before. Can't wait to read more. Thanks Andre.

I don't think she is normal. She is only acting normal. This was her new plan considering the old one didn't work. What a way to get Shawn to love her & dump Belle and Belle to go along with it. Perhaps Philip is in on this hmmmmm!

Chapter 12

WOMEN'S PRISON
SAMANTHA: He what?!
Samantha stood up.
SAMANTHA: I'll kill him! How dare he cheat on my niece!?
Marlena walked up to Samantha and put her arms on Samantha's shoulders.
MARLENA: Sam, calm down. It's not worth getting all worked up over this.
SAMANTHA: Calm down? Calm down?! How can you say that, Marlena?! Aren't you mad about all of this?!
MARLENA: Of course I'm mad, Sam. But, acting this way isn't going to help anything. Killing people is what got you put in here in the first place. So, just take a deep breath and sit down.
Samantha sat down and took a deep breath.
SAMANTHA: You're right. You're right, it's not worth it. I just hate the idea that your daughter, my niece, is getting hurt by the man she loves and that I can't do anything about it!
MARLENA: I understand that, Sam. But, you've already helped me. And, if I hear any more information, then I'll let you know how you can help more. But, right now, I need to go. Thanks for all the help, Sam.
SAMANTHA: You're welcome. Send my love to Belle.
MARLENA: I will. See you later.
Marlena walked out.

THE LOFT
Jan and Shawn-D are getting ready for bed.
JAN: Shawn?
SHAWN-D: Yeah?
JAN: I've finally realized something.
SHAWN-D: What's that?
JAN: It's when you have a sudden thought that you would have thought silly if you had gotten it before this exact moment. But, that's not important right now. What is important is that I want to be with you.
SHAWN-D: What do you mean?
JAN: I mean, I want to make love to you.
SHAWN-D: Jan, are you sure? What if Evil Jan comes back?
JAN: She won't. I've taken all of my meds and I've been going to all of my therapy sessions. Trust me, Shawn. Evil Jan won't be coming back.
SHAWN-D: Are you really sure that you want to do this, Jan?
JAN: Yes. I'm sure.
SHAWN-D: Okay.
So, Shawn-D and Jan got into bed together. They turned off the lights and started kissing. And then, it became a lot more passionate than just kissing.
