The Daytime Emmy Pre-Nominations have been announced. Final nominations will be announced on March 26th. michaelfairmansoaps.com/news/42nd-annual-daytime-emmy-drama-performer-pre-nominations-announced/2015/02/04/For Days we have: Lead Actress- Peggy McCay(Caroline)and Alison Sweeney(Sami) Lead Actor-Daniel Cosgrove(Aiden) Supporting Actress-Chrishell Stause(Jordan) Supporting Actor-Blake Berris(Nick) and Eric Martsolf(Brady) Younger Actress-Camila Banus(Gabi), Lauren Boles(Ciara) and True O'Brien(Paige) Younger Actor-Connor Kalopsis(Chase), Casey Moss(JJ), Terrell Ransom Jr.(Theo) and Freddie Smith(Sonny) Thoughts? Do you agree/disagree with these choices? Do you think there is anyone missing? |

You have got to be kidding me. Jordan for best supporting? And no way JJ and Sonny should be in the same category with Chase and Theo. Really??
I'm also confused that Aiden is in the lead actor category while Brady is in a supporting category when Brady has appeared in way more episodes than Aiden. But go Aiden and Brady.

I am not sure what time frame they use, but I am shocked about Jordan for best supporting as well! Perhaps there were clips submitted that we haven't seen yet? That's the only explanation I can think of.
I am also shocked that Kristian Alfonso didn't at least get a pre-nomination. I thought her scenes with Nick at the morgue were very good.
Wishing them all the best and especially hoping that Alison and Daniel bring home an Emmy.

I'm appalled by some of the choices. Jordan for Supporting Actress? JORDAN?! Of all of the actresses they could have picked they picked one with an extremely boring and horribly written character. I would have rather picked Jen Lilley and Arianne Zucker and at least a couple of other actresses that are way better. I can't wrap my head around this since the Jordan storyline was just so awful and yet they decided to go with Christell Strause anyway. This show must be so desperate that they're just scraping the bottom of the barrel and just nominating whoever.
And True O'Brien? Excuse me while I walk into a corner and laugh hysterically. That is actually far more worse than CS because even though Jordan suffered from mostly bad writing, I think Paige suffers from bad acting and bad writing. She is just horrible too. Why?! This makes no sense at all!
At least the choices for the male actors made more sense anyway, especially Daniel Cosgrove since he seems to be pretty good and Aiden is a very well established character.

Thanks for posting @dukeblue! Seriously - my jaw dropped at Chrishell Strause being in there. The woman has two facial expressions. These are just pre-noms but still. I love it that Daniel Cosgrove, Lauren Boles and Camilla Banus are in there. |

sevenna92, I was surprised about the nomination for Paige as well. IMO, Lauren Boles is ahead of her by leaps and bounds. I am also puzzled by the exclusion of Arianne Zucker and Jen Lilley.

wendylou, I am pretty sure that these nominations are final. I don't think there can be others added later. I think these nominations come from the show. After looking at the episode rankings for 2014, I find it interesting that the 2-3 characters with most appearances didn't get a nomination. Daniel Cosgrove only had 84 appearances, yet he is their only nomination for lead actor. What to make of that?

Jordan is hands-down the worst actress on the show. I hope she doesn't win or make it to the finals.
I give True O'Brien a pass because she is young and still honing her craft. Kristian Alfonso wasn't good when she first started on the show either and she got much better. Chrishelle, however, is a seasoned actress who has been awful the entire ten two years she's been on the show.

The Jordan & Paige noms surprised me as well. Also how do they have Chase & Sonny in the younger category Sonny is married and Chase is like 10. I was a little surprised Hope & EJ weren't nominated.

This makes no sense to me. Caroline is a LEAD actress and Jordan is SUPPORTING? Jordan has been on the screen constantly whereas we see Caroline perhaps 1-2 times per month. It's absurd that CS is even pre-nominated, but I'd think the amount of times she appears per week puts her well above "supporting". It honestly seems like a waste to enter Peggy's name when you know that the category is going to be filled with Heather Tom, Amelia Heinle, Michelle Stafford, and actresses who carry their respective shows in 3-5 episodes per week, every week, every year.
If TOB get a nomination, then the Emmys are rigged. She is, by far, the worst younger actress on all of the soaps. Y&R and B&B and GH all have some powerful young women. Every single one of them deserves a nomination above True and her flat, boring, pointless portray of Paige.
It's insane that Jen Liley's name isn't on that list. She's the best actress on the show out of all the names submitted!
Blake Berris is the only nomination that makes sense, IMO. Nick was a polarizing character who was liked and yet also intensely hated. Blake was phenomenal.

I'm kind of sad that Jen Lilley wasn't pre-nominated either, considering that for her other show Youthful Daze she just got nominated for Lead Actress. I really wonder if maybe there wasn't much great material from her on Days to begin with since her character is written horribly most of the time. Or maybe she felt like the work she did on Days wasn't good enough so maybe she decided not to submit anything for this year. Or maybe Days thought she wasn't good enough.
Hopefully she'll have better luck next year with the baby kidnapping storyline especially if she ends up getting much better material like with the baby rattle scene from weeks ago. That alone should give her a decent shot for the Emmy.
