Chapter 14

ELECTRIC DUSK DRIVE-IN THEATER – FLASHBACK
By now, the effects of the drug were really working on Jeannie. Though she had intended to have only one, she did not refuse when Griff handed her another joint. She sat slouched in her seat as she became more and more intoxicated by the weed.
JEANNIE: Whoa...
GRIFF: What?
JEANNIE: Just...whoa. I've never felt like this before.
Jeannie giggled.
GRIFF: You know how this party could get even better?
JEANNIE: How?
Griff pulled out a bottle of vodka.
JEANNIE: Wow. I've never had a drink before.
GRIFF: Never?
JEANNIE: Well...I think I had champagne once at a wedding. Only a sip, though. I've never had a proper drink.
GRIFF: You should try it. This is the good stuff.
Griff opened the bottle and handed it to Jeannie, who took a drink.

MARLENA'S OFFICE
THERESA: I wasn't going to. I knew I shouldn't have. But, it just looked so good; and my mind was already clouded by the weed. So, I drank it. I shouldn't have, it was stupid, but I did. It tasted like cherries. And then comes the worst part of the night...

ELECTRIC DUSK DRIVE-IN THEATER – FLASHBACK
The now half-empty bottle of vodka sat lopsided in the cup holder between the two seats. Jeannie was now even more slouched in her seat.
JEANNIE: Oh man...
She was slurring her words. Griff, on the other hand, was just fine. Unknown to Jeannie at this point in time, he hadn't had anything to drink or smoke this whole evening.
GRIFF: What?
Jeannie hiccuped.
JEANNIE: If my parents shee...I mean see me like this...*hic* they're gonna kill me!
GRIFF: Well, we just won't let them see you like this, then. I'll drop you off at a friend's house or somethin'.
JEANNIE: Yeah, there's just one teeny little *hic* problem with that. I don't really have fany riends...I mean any friends.
GRIFF: That's sad.
JEANNIE: Yeah.
Jeannie hiccuped again.
JEANNIE: Tell me about it.
GRIFF: Well, we'll just have to figure out something else.
Griff started playing with his belt buckle. A few minutes later, Jeannie groaned.
GRIFF: What's wrong?
JEANNIE: I don't feel sho good.
Jeannie hiccuped.
JEANNIE: I”m...really dizzy and my stomach hurts.
GRIFF: You wanna lie down? The back seat's nice and comfy.
JEANNIE: That sounds *hic* really good.
GRIFF: Okay. I'll help you. One sec.
Griff got out of the car and went around to the other side. He opened Jeannie's door and helped her up. He opened the back door and laid her down. Then, he began taking off his belt.

MARLENA'S OFFICE
Theresa took a deep breath. There were tears in her eyes.
THERESA: Like I said, part of me died inside that night.

[Kpatch]

This is heartbreaking. Jeannie was an innocent until that night. Ugh.

Wow. I feel so bad for Jeannie, and no wonder she turned into Theresa. I'm guessing she never told anybody this before too.

This is exactly what I feared when he asked her out. Poor Jeanie/Teresa.

Chapter 15

OUTSIDE THE DONOVAN HOUSE – FLASHBACK
It was late at night. Griff's car pulled into the driveway. It's been a few hours since the last chapter. Griff had taken Jeannie to get sobered up. She sat in the passenger's seat, looking down at her lap, trying not to show that she was crying. Griff turned off the car and looked at Jeannie. He got right up next to her ear.
GRIFF: Nobody knows that this happened, you got it? I got a rep to protect. Besides, nobody's gonna believe a freak like you, anyway. Now get outta my car.
Jeannie got out and ran inside.

DONOVAN HOUSE – FLASHBACK
Jeannie walked inside and closed the door behind her. Kim walked in, and Jeannie ran upstairs.
KIMBERLY: Hey, hon. How was the date?
JEANNIE (voice breaking): I don't wanna talk about it.
Kim went upstairs. Jeannie ran into her room and slammed the door.
KIMBERLY: Sweetie, what's wrong? Did something happen?
JEANNIE (from inside her room): I said I don't wanna talk about it! Just leave me alone!
Jeannie sat in a ball on her bed, crying.
JEANNIE (whispering): Just leave me alone.

MARLENA'S OFFICE
THERESA: I never told her. I couldn't. I was too embarrassed. I've never told anyone about this before. After all, who'd believe me?
MARLENA: I believe you.
Theresa took a deep breath and wiped her eyes.
THERESA: So, that's how it all started. I found a few joints in my jacket the next morning, went out and bought a lighter. I don't really know why, I guess I was just trying to chase the feeling of that first high. But, I never got there. Then, I started to reinvent myself. I got a box of hair dye, and gave myself this reddish-brown color. Bought a bunch of darker clothes, and became Theresa.

FAIRFAX SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL – FLASHBACK
Click here to listen to the music for this scene. Seventeen year old Theresa Donovan walked into school, her books in one hand, and joint in the other. She opened her locker and put her books in. Bridonna came by and shoved her.
BRIDONNA: Watch your step, freak.
Theresa grabbed a book and whacked Bridonna in the face with it.
THERESA: Watch yours, you trashy skank.
Bridonna got up.
BRIDONNA: Oh, you are in for a world of hurt now!
THERESA: Bite me!
BRIDONNA: Is that a challenge?
THERESA: Yeah, it is.
Bridonna brought her fist back. Theresa grabbed it and twisted the bigger girl's arm.
BRIDONNA: What the...
Theresa pinned Bridonna up against the row of lockers. '
BRIDONNA: ...hell?
THERESA: Give me your money for lunch.
BRIDONNA: What?
Theresa punched Bridonna in the face.
THERESA: Give me your money for lunch, you piece of trash. Do I have to say it again?
Theresa took a pair of scissors out of her pocket and chopped of a lock of Bridonna's hair.
THERESA (whispering): How about this: you give me your money, or I tell everyone in school about the “incident” between you and Joey?
BRIDONNA: You wouldn't?
THERESA: Do I need to prove myself?
BRIDONNA: No! Please, no!
Bridonna dug in her pocket and gave Theresa a small stack of money.
BRIDONNA: Take it. All of it.
THERESA: That's better.
Theresa took a puff off her joint, then put it out on Bridonna's sleeve.
BRIDONNA: Man, you are one cold B!+©*
THERESA: Yeah, I am. See ya later, freak.
Theresa walked away.

MARLENA'S OFFICE
THERESA: And ever since then, I've just been doing stupid stuff. I thought getting revenge on everyone would make me feel better, but honestly, I just feel more empty inside.
Theresa looked directly at Marlena.
THERESA: You asked what I wanted to achieve through these counseling sessions? I didn't know when I first came in here; but now I do. I don't want to feel empty inside. I don't want to hate myself anymore. (voice breaking) I don't want to feel so alone.

Darn you André DiMera. Now I'm sitting here trying not to cry. That scene with Theresa and Marlena really got to me.

That is THE perfect backstory for Theresa and explains her so perfectly. Why could you do in a few chapters what the DAYS writers have been unable to do in over a year? Great job André DiMera!

How heartbreaking and tragic! If the writers could write a similar backstory for Theresa on the actual show, it can go a very long way for her character.

Chapter 16

FILM STUDIO
There was a brief silence.
DEWEY: Wow...
CHEATHAM: That was incredible.
HOWE: I don't even know what to say.
Dewey, Cheatham and Howe stood up and clapped their hands.
SAMI: Thank you. Thanks. I'm glad you liked it. But, the story's not over yet.
DEWEY: Oh, we know. There's still the matter of the DiMera family to be wrapped up.
CHEATHAM: But, we wanted to tell you that this backstory you gave Jeannie, or Theresa, whatever her name is, it was awesome!
HOWE: Finally, we have a reason to feel bad for her. I mean, sure, it doesn't excuse the bad things she's done, but at least we understand her better.
SAMI: Well, that's what I was aiming for.
DEWEY: Okay. Go on.
CHEATHAM: Tell us the rest of the story.
HOWE: We won't interrupt anymore until you're finished.
SAMI: Okay. So, when I left off, it had just been revealed that the person everyone thought was André was really his good look alive cousin Tony...

MAISON BLANCHE
TONY: I'm sorry to burst your collective bubble, but Rex is quite right. I am Tony.
E.J.: Tony...how? Why would you do this?
TONY: Oh, use your brain, Elvis. Or, has what little passes for a brain in Salem these days finally turned into mush and dribbled out of your ear? Why do you think I'm doing this?
REX: Revenge.
TONY: And there we go again, another perfectly correct answer from Rex. Not on you, though, Elvis. Or you, Chad. No, no, I'm here to get revenge on Stefano.
CHAD: Why?
TONY: He's forced my hand too many times. He tried to turn me into a perfect little DiMera soldier, just like the four of you are now. But, you see, I'm the one that failed. The one that he couldn't control. The one who fought back. So, he's tried to get rid of me, many times over. When I heard what Stefano was planning for all of you, I had to come back and see for myself. I had to try and stop it if I could.
CASSIE: Wait a minute, you knew this whole time that this was the plan?
TONY; Of course. You see, Cassie, I knew that Stefano trusts André more than anybody, because André is so psychotic that he'd kill anyone who so much as threatened to reveal the plan before it was time. So, all I had to do was pose as André and gain Stefano's trust. It wasn't that hard to do, and Rex pointed out earlier.
Tony looked at his watch.
TONY: Oh, dear me! Look at the time! I really must be going. It's just such a shame that I won't be seeing any of you later.
E.J.: Why not?
REX: He's locked all the doors from the outside and is planning on using some device that only he knows how to operate to get out of here before a heard of rabid dogs that have been hidden upstairs are going to come down and attack us.
CHAD: How do you know that?
REX: It wasn't that hard to figure out. I'm a genius.
TONY: Well, goodbye, everyone. And good luck.
Tony pulled a small box with a button on it out of his pocket. He pressed the button. A trap door opened and Tony went down through the shoot.

Yikes. I wonder if they will make it out alive.

Oh my goodness. Hope they escape! That trap door just made me think of Mr Burns on the Simpsons. LOL

Chapter 17

MAISON BLANCHE
The four ran for the door, but it shut as soon as Tony was gone, and now just looked like any other part of the floor. Then, they heard a barking noise coming close to them.
CHAD: Can you open the trap door?
REX: Of course, but not nearly in enough time. The dogs will be here any second.
E.J.: There must be something we can do, otherwise what's the bloody point of all this?!
REX: Well, there is a self-destruct mechanism in the basement. If we run fast we can get their before the dogs get to us.
CASSIE: Are you crazy?! That'll kill us!
REX: We'll be dead in minutes, anyway, if those dogs catch us.
CHAD: So this is it. The prism has fallen.
E.J.: This is not the ending I wanted.

OUTSIDE MAISON BLANCHE
Tony climbed out of a hole in the ground.
TONY: There we go. That was easy.
Tony checked his watch.
TONY: Well, by now, they've either found the self destruct, or the dogs will have found them. I wonder which one it'll be.

MAISON BLANCHE
The group ran downstairs.
CASSIE: Rex...
Rex took Cassie's hand.
REX: It's okay, Cass. It's the only way. At least it'll be over quickly. Besides, we're going out like we came in: together.
Rex wrapped an arm around his twin sister.
REX: Goodbye, everyone.
Rex pushed the button. There was a massive explosion.

DIMERA JET
Some miles away, Stefano, Kristen and the baby sat on a private jet. Stefano looked stunned.
KRISTEN: What is it, father?
STEFANO: I don't know, child. But I feel as though part of me has been ripped apart. Something terrible has happened to my prism!
The door of the cockpit opened, and a man dressed all in black stepped out.
STEFANO: Ah, pilot, we need to go back. I fear something terrible has happened.
The pilot took out a stun gun and shot both Stefano and Kristen, who were now unconscious. He then took the baby from Kristen's arms.

UNDISCLOSED LOCATION
Several hours later, Stefano and Kristen woke up. They were in the middle of nowhere.
KRISTEN: What?
STEFANO: Where are we?
KRISTEN: It looks like a dessert. Nothing but sand as far as the eye can see.
STEFANO: This was not part of the plan!
KRISTEN: Wait a minute, where's the baby?
STEFANO: Baby?
KRISTEN: The baby! Brady and Theresa's baby! My ticket back into Salem!
STEFANO: We'll just have to find our way out of here.
KRISTEN: How?
STEFANO: Well, we've got a long walk ahead of us.
Stefano and Kristen started walking.
STEFANO: It appears that we have been tricked again.
KRISTEN: Yes, but by who?

DIMERA MANSION
The jet landed on a helipad on the top of the DiMera Mansion. The man in black from a few scenes earlier stepped out carrying the baby. He took his mask off to reveal that he is John.
JOHN: Well, time to get you back to your real father.
