Chapter 2


The Dimera Mansion

Roman: How ya doin’ shweethaht?
Sami: I’m fine Daddy, really.
Roman: I know you took EJ’s death really hard, being that he was your husband and all.
Sami: True enough. But it’s time to move on — you know, for the sake of the children.
Roman: You have a really good attitude, Shami. I’m happy to shee your Drama Queen period is over.
Sami: So what do you think? Lucas or Rafe?
Roman: Lucas or Rafe what?
Sami: Which one should I get back with?
Roman: What da….?


Salem Personnel Agency

Teresa: And what about you, Miss Priss. What name do you go by on your application? Abigail or Abby or Abs or slut or what?

Receptionist: Miss Abigail Deveraux. The career counselor will see you now.
Teresa: Hey, I was here first.
Receptionist: We go in alphabetical order.
Abigail turns toward Teresa and sticks out her tongue before getting up and heading to the office. She knocks on the door and goes inside.

As she takes a seat across from the career counselor, Abigail can’t help but notice how oddly he’s dressed. The counselor is a man in his fifties wearing a Fedora hat and an oversized jacket atop a plaid shirt. He’s sporting a fake-looking handlebar mustache and wire-rimmed eyeglasses.

She hands him the clipboard with her application and resume.
He peruses it for a long while. Then he looks up and starts to speak with what sounds like a fake midwestern twang.
Counselor: Abigail Deverex.
Abigail: Deveraux. It’s Abigail Deveraux, not Deverex. What’s your name?
Counselor: Name’s um Van Donaghue.
Abigail: Nice to meet you.
Counselor: So girlie, says here you got some Public Relations experience.
Abigail: Yes, private relations too.
Counselor (leaning forward): Tell me, you ever do anything like espionaaaage?
Abigail: Um, not really. But my dad was an investigative reporter. And cousin Hope is a detective. Uncle Justin’s a lawyer.
Counselor: Close enough! I have just the assignment for you. Here’s the information. Read it, then destroy it.
Abigail (reading the piece of paper): Oh, I was hoping for a long-term assignment and this looks like it’s just a one-time fling. I mean thing.
Counselor: Don’t knock it kid. Alls ya have ta do is pick up a man in a red hat from the airport and bring him where he tells you to. Do a good job and we might have other assignments for you.
Abigail: A man in a red hat, huh? Is it safe?
Counselor: Send in the next girl.
Abigail: Wait. I asked if it’s safe.
Counselor: Guess you’ll be finding that out for yourself, now won’t you? Send in the next girl.

Uh oh! Sounds like this assignment could be dangerous! Can't wait to see what kinda job Theresa gets! And Sami wondering if she should get back together with Rafe or Lucas!! Too funny!!!!

Just catching up on this.

1st and foremost, I absolutely LOVE Molly & Dorkay!! Can they please make more than just one appearance? Pretty please?!?!?!?!?


Theresa & Abigail sound like Jr. High kids trying to one up the other one in the name calling. Sounds like Abigail is already looking at her next victim.
Typical Sami. Can't be alone too long. And just when Roman thought her "Drama Queen" moment was over. I don't think he's seen anything yet.

I loved the Roman and Sami scene! That was hilarious! If I had to pick for Sami, I'd say go with Lucas.

The Teresa/Abby scene was great, too! I wonder who this counselor really is, and why he's going to such lengths to hide who he is, what with the fake moustache and Midwestern accent. This is so interesting! I can't wait to find out more, Kpatch!

Ahahahaha! Thanks for directing my attention to this, Kpatch! The Abby/Theresa sparring is so funny -- why can't we get more of that on the show?! -- and as I mentioned to you already, your incorporation of Roman's "accent" (slurring?) into the dialogue got a big laugh out of me. But nothing got me as much as Molly and Dorkday arguing over Daniel, especially her horrified, "What do you mean what about Daniel? Don't tell me he's running for President!" Bwahahahhaa!

Jordan: No I didn’t.
Clyde: Yes you did.
Jordan: No I didn’t.
Clyde: Yes you did.

Molly: Cut! Can we please move forward with this frickin story? It’s the same broken record every day.


Daniel’s Apartment

Daniel answers the door.
Melanie: Guess who!
Daniel: Hey hey hey, get over here you.
Daniel gives Melanie a big hug.
Melanie: You are a sight for tired eyes.
Daniel: You mean sore eyes.
Melanie: Where’s Parker?
Daniel: He’s with Joanne, the nanny.
Melanie: I can’t wait to see him!
Daniel: He’s been talking about you nonstop. Are you staying for the holidays?
Melanie: That’s the plan. So what’s new here? What did I miss?
Daniel: Well, actually, there’s something you should know.


Salem Personnel Agency

Teresa walks into the career counselor’s office and knits her brow, looking at him skeptically.
Without looking at her, the counselor with a fake-sounding midwestern twang starts talking.

Counselor: Did you bring your resume?
Teresa’s eyes widen.
Teresa: Daddy??
The counselor looks up.
Counselor (dropping the fake accent): Jeannie!
