Chapter 6
KIRIAKIS MANSION
Brady and Melanie were in the living room, kissing each other.
BRADY: So, how's the lasagna coming?
MELANIE: Lasagna...what lasagna?
Suddenly, they heard the buzzer.
MELANIE: Oh...that lasagna.
The two of them ran into the kitchen, hoping to save Melanie's dinner.
LUCAS' APARTMENT
CHAD: Where's the baby?
MIA: What baby?
CHAD: Don't play dumb with me, Mia! Where is it? Where's our baby?
MIA: I don't know.
CHAD: Oh, I think you do know! And you're gonna tell me right now, unless you want some serious trouble!
MIA: All right. I'll tell you. I gave the baby up for adoption...
CHAD: You did what?!
MIA: You left me, Chad! What other choice did I have?! I was alone, and confused, and hurt, and pregnant! Anyway...I found this nice couple. They'd always wanted to have a baby, but were never able to. So, I let them adopted our baby. And, a few weeks laer, they left town. I don't know where they are.
CHAD: Do you realize what you've done?! Do you know how angry They are going to be with you?!
MIA: Don't even try to threaten me with Them, Chad, because it's not a threat! I did some research after you left. I learned a ot of things. But one of the most important things I learned is that there is no Company! There never was! You made it up after watching an episode of "American Justice"!
CHAD: So what if I did? I got you to believe it, didn't I? But then again, you always did beleive every single word I said. It's kind of pathetic, really. So, you've sold off our baby. I would have thought you'd have known better, Mia. You of all people should know what I'm like when I'm angry. So, there's only one thing left to do to you now...
Chad tried grabbing Mia, but only managed to grab one arm. Mia used her other arm to smack Chad across the face.
MIA (Yelling): Get your hands off me!
CHAD (Yelling): After what you've done?! No!
MIA (Yelling): I said, get your hands off of me!
Mia smacked Chad again. Chad loosened his grip on Mia's arm just enough to where Mia pulled her arm free. She quickly opened the door of the apartment and pushed Chad out. Then, she shut the door as fast as she could and locked it.
MIA (Yelling): Get out of here! I never want to see you again!
Chad, now standing in the hallway banged his fist against the door several times.
CHAD (Yelling): You know I liked you a whole lot better when I could control you?!
He banged his fist against the door again.
CHAD (Yelling): You want me out of your life?! Fine! I'm out!
He banged the door one last time and left. Mia stood with her back against the door. Then, she slid down the door until she was sitting, and she started to cry.
WILL'S BEDROOM
KATE: A baby? Mia, that girl you're dating, has a baby?
WILL: Yes. She had a baby...
KATE: I knew it! I knew this was a mistake! I knew something like this would happen!
WILL: What do you mean?
KATE: You're doing the same thing that your father does. Throwing your life away for a woman who, let's be completely honest, doesn't deserve you. Honey, you can do so much better than Mia. Oh, I don't blame you, dear. I blame your parents. You obviously have your father's taste when it comes to women. And, with a mother like Sami, well...
WILL: Ssh! I'm trying to hear...
MIA (Voice only, yelling): Get out of here! I never want to see you again
Will heard the door slam.
WILL: That didn't sound good. I think I need to go check on Mia.
Will walked out.
LUCAS' APARTMENT
Mia is sitting on the floor in front of the door, crying. Will walked into the room.
WILL: Mia, is everything all right in here? I thought I heard some screaming...
Will walked over to Mia. He could see that everything was definately not all right. He sat on the ground next to Mia.
WILL: Hey, what's wrong? What happened?
Mia wanted to explain what happened to Will, but she was so upset that she couldn't make any words come out.
WILL: Do you wanna go for a walk? Get some fresh air?
Mia nodded.
WLL: Okay. Come here.
Will got up, then helped Mia get up. He put his arm around her and they walked out of the apartment. Mia was nervous at first, but when she saw that Chad really had gone, she felt a little better.
PARK
Will and Mia walked around for a while. Then, they sat down on a bench in the park. Mia finally started saying what she needed to say. She only hoped Will would understand.
MIA: Remember when I told you that Chad left before he knew that I was pregnant?
WILL: Yeah.
MIA: And remember when I said that he was a nice guy and that I didn't know why he left?
WILL: Yeah.
MIA: Well...I didn't quite tell you the whole truth. It all started back in my freshmen year of high school...
WILL: You don't have to tell me about it if you don't want to. If it hurts too much to think about, then you don't have to tell me.
MIA: But I do. In fact, I think you're the only person I can talk to about this. I just hope you won't think too badly of me once I've told you the full truth.
WILL: Mia, I could never think badly of you. I love you. And, whatever it is that you need to tell me, or whatever happened to you in the past, I want you to know that I'm here for you. I always will be.
MIA: You are so sweet! Okay, so here it goes...
Will listened as Mia started the story of the relationship between her and Chad...
DiMERA MANSION
ANNA: I think we should leave now, Tony. I can see why you didn't want to come here in the first place.
TONY: It's all right, Anna. Just go out to the car, I'll join you in a minute. There's just a few small matters I have to finish up with Stefano and my brother.
ANNA: Okay. I'll be waiting for you outside.
Anna went to warm up the car. Tony waited until she was out of earshot. Then, he started clapping. After he had finished, he started laughing. He poured himself, Stefano, and E.J. a glass of champaine and continued laughing. E.J. and Stefano soon joined in with the laughter and accepted thier glasses.
TONY: Well, I must say, the two of you have put on quite a show. I didn't expect it to be that good. Stefano you were brilliant. And Elvis, you almost had me beleiving you actually cared. Good show, gentlemen. Good show!
E.J.: Well, our show might have been good, but it's nowhere near as good as your's...André.
Tony (who all this time has really been André) lifted his glass and smiled.
