For those of you who know me from other Days forums, you will know that I like to write Days fan-fictions. Here is one of the fan-fictions that I wrote in late 2009. For those of you who have already read this story, please do not spoil the ending for those who have not. I shall start the official story tomorrow, and will be posting every weekday. Until tomorrow, here is a preview of "Dinner with the Family": Preview Will and Mia have dinner with Lucas and Kate... MIA: I love you so much! Will and Mia kissBrady and Melanie have dinner together... BRADY: So, how's the lasagna coming? MELANIE: Lasagna...what lasagna? Tony and Anna have dinner with E.J. and Nicole... TONY: Of all the families to be born into, I had to be born into the one that could win the award for "Dysfunctional Family of the Century". Featuring two unexpected guests. WILL: Who's he? E.J.: I was wondering when you would turn up. Dinner With the Family - Days of Our Lives Coming soon to a forum near you!

Chapter 1 This story occurs in 2009, when Tony was alive, he and Anna were still in Salem, Brady was a nice guy, Mia was still in Salem and was nice, and Chad was still relatively new to the teen scene. However, in this story, Will and Mia are dating, as are Brady and Melanie. KIRIAKIS MANSION HENDERSON: Is there anything I can get for the two of you? BRADY: No thank you, Henderson. However, I was wondering if either Grandfather or Philip are home this evening? HENDERSON: No, Mr. Kiriakis and Master Philip are away in Greece on business. They won't be expected back until the end of next week. BRADY: Thank you, Henderson. That will be all. So, Henderson left Brady and Melanie to thier evening together. MELANIE: Are you sure this is all right? BRADY: Mel, it's fine. You heard what Henderson said. Philip and my grandfather aren't going to be home until next Friday. I'm sure they won't mind us staying in the mansion for a night or two. Besides, it's not like they're even going to know about it. The only person that's here this late is Henderson, and he's very good at keeping secrets. Everything will be fine. MELANIE: All right. If you say so. DiMERA MANSION Meanwhile, the DiMera Mansion was also having some special guests over for dinner. There was a kncok on the door, E.J. opened it to find Tony and Anna. E.J.: Well, I was wondering when you would turn up. TONY: Yes, well, it wasn't exactly hard finding the place. E.J.: Please, come in. The two of them came in. Rolf took thier coats. After some awkward small-talk, most of it involved very short and curt answers from Tony, Anna went upstairs to use a bathroom. Nicole was sitting in one of the chairs with Sydney in her arms. E.J.: You're looking pretty good, Tony. You gave us quite a scare there. TONY: Yes, well, as you can see, my dear brother, I'm alive and very well. E.J.: What exactly is your game, Tony? TONY: Game? What game? E.J.: The reason you're looking so sulky and being so short with me. I am trying to be genuinely nice, you know. TONY: Yes, I am aware of that. It's just...I have nothing against you, dear brother, but as I'm sure you know, I'm not the biggest fan of this mansion. Especially after all the hell that Stefano put me through. E.J.: Yes, I understand what you mean... TONY: However, that is no excuse for my behavior. And I apologize for taking it out on you. E.J.: Quite all right. If I were put in a similar situation, I would be angry, too. ROLF: Excuse me, Elvis, but I need you to come take a look at something in the basement for me. E.J.: Certainly, Rolf. (to Tony) Please, make yourself comfortable. E.J. and Rolf went down into the basement. E.J.: Is he ready yet Rolf? ROLF: Not quite yet, Elvis. Just a little while longer. E.J.: Well, he needs to be ready by tonight. I've been waiting to show Tony this ever since he got out of his coma. ROLF: Trust me, Elvis, he will be ready to see Antony in a little while. In fact, I should say just one more hour and he shall be ready. E.J.: Good. And when he is revealed to Tony, it wil certainly be a suprise. We see a man, but his face is blocked from view by bandages. Elvis puts his hand on the man's shoulder...

EJ and Rolf plotting together can't be good. I'm not sure Tony is going to like their "surprise". So is Brady and Henderson dating each other? If so, then yes I guess old Henderson really can keep a secret.

OOPS! I meant to say Brady and Melanie! My mistake. I think I'd better go fix that before it gets me into trouble.

Next Week on "Days of Our Lives..." LUCAS: Mom, be nice. KATE: I'm always nice... VICTOR: Those morons have cancelled our flight! TONY: Anna, we need to get out of here! CHAD: Where's the baby? WILL: You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to. MIA: I think you're the only one I can talk to about this...

Chapter 2 DiMERA MANSION E.J.: So, it will be soon, then? ROLF: Yes, Elvis. Very soon. Very, very soon. The patient just needs a little more time. E.J.: Right. I should have thought so. Especially after that disasterous fire. I'm surprised he's still alive. ROLF: Well, he has made a miraculous recovery. And, trust me, when I pull the bandages off, he will look better than ever. E.J.: Good. E.J. patted the shoulder of the man in the mask, and knelt in front of him. E.J.: I'll be back in a little while. I must go see how our guests are doing. I know you'll be pleased to see them. I'm just not too sure how pleased Tony will be to see you. Ah, well. It doesn't matter. All that matters is that Rolf was able to put everything right once again. E.J. got up and went back upstairs. LUCAS' APARTMENT Meanwhile, at the apartment, Lucas was busily preparing dinner. Kate was helping as well. Well, not helping so much as standing around talking. LUCAS: Now, mom, Will and Mia will be here any minute now, and I want you to at least try to be nice to Mia before you decide you hate her. KATE: Lucas, I am always nice. When have I ever not been nice to any of the girls you've brought home? LUCAS: Would you like a list. Let's see, there's Sami, Chloe, Nicole... KATE: Well, I'm sorry, but none of those girls were right for you. If yu had married any of them, you would have been ruining your life. Especially if you had married that awful witch, Sami. LUCAS: See, there you go again! It's always the same. Whenever I bring up any of the girls I've dated, you always tell me about how horrible they are. KATE: I'm just stating the truth, Lucas. LUCAS: Well, you'd better not be like that with Will and Mia. Mia is very special to Will, and I want things to work out for them. KATE: Honey, I swear, I will be as nice as I can possibly be. Lucas said nothing. He went on cooking, wondering how soon it would be before his mother broke that promise, again. WOODED AREA In the meantime, Will and Mia were walking to the apartments. Will was warning Mia about Kate. WILL: Look, don't get me wrong, Grandma Kate can be nice if she wants to be, but she and my Dad don't see eye-to-eye on a lot of things. MIA: So...do you think she'll like me? WILL: Of course she will. Why wouldn't she? MIA: Maybe because of the whole thing with the baby. WILL: Mia, honey, she's gonna love you. Don't worry. Everything will be fine. Mia and Will kissed. DiMERA MANSION A little while later, the whole family was sat down eating. There had been some occasional small-talk, mostly from E.J. talking about the goings-on at DiMera Enterprises and both Tony and Anna talking about thier respective companies. After that, there was a long silence. Finally, Tony was the one to break it. TONY: So, Elvis, when we first got here, you said you had something to show us. E.J.: Yes, I did. And I still do. TONY: Well, what is it, then? E.J.: You'll see, Tony. When it's the right time...you'll see...

I believe Kate. She will be "as nice as (she) can possibly be" ... that's just not saying much. I'm so happy to see Lucas in a story spending time with his son and love that he is being so supportive of Will & Mia.

I sort of remember this story from a previous read, but I don't remember all the details, so it feels new again. Gosh, I hope Kate doesn't plan to eat Mia for dinner. Great job of capturing Kate's "voice," Andre. Thanks for the chapter!

Chapter 3 KIRIAKIS MANSION BRADY: So, I've got the salad... MELANIE: And I'm working on the lasagna. BRADY: And once that's done, you and I can have a wonderful dinner together. MELANIE: That sounds great. BRADY: And then, after that, we have the whole night to do whatever we want. What do you think of that, Ms. Layton? MELANIE: I think that I like the way you think, Mr. Black. Melanie and Brady kissed. The two moved out of the kitchen. A buzzer on the oven goes off, signifying that Melanie's lasagnais done... O'HAIRE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT Philip is sitting on a bench at one of the terminals. Victor is arguing with one of the girls behind the desk at the gate. A few minutes later, Victor walks back to wear Philip is sitting. Philip stood up whne he saw Victor coming towards him. PHILIP: What did they say? VICTOR: Those morons have cancelled our flight. They say there's too much snow. Imagine! Letting a little thing like snow get in the way! PHILIP: Yes, becuase it would obviously be much better to take our plane in the middle of a blizzard and risk getting into an accident. VICTOR: You watch your tone with me, Philip. PHILIP: Sorry, father. So, what do we do now? VICTOR: Well, I refuse to stay in some tacky little hotel until the next plane is scheduled. Call Henderson, tell him to come pick us up at the airport and take us back to the mansion... DiMERA MANSION Menawhile, Tony, Anna, E.J., and Nicole were still eating dinner. Then, E.J. put a hand to the ear bud for his phone. E.J.: Yes...okay, we'll be right down. He took his hand off the ear bud. E.J.: Well, Tony, you wanted to know what my surprise is, and now you shall. Please, come with me. E.J. and Tony stood up. TONY: Why do I get the feeling I'm going to regret this? E.J.: Oh, don't be silly, Tony. It's a wonderful surprise. You're going to love it. E.J. led Tony downstairs. A few minutes later, Nicole and Anna were shocked by a scream they heard. TONY (VO): No!!!!!
