Ooh Fluffy, I want to see pictures of the pumpkins. So, we'll do that, come bag and hit our town's trunk-or-treat event. I only just heard of trunk or treat for the first time ever yesterday! A lot of local churches do trunk or treat here during the week before Halloween.

Here it's mostly churches that do it, but one local radio station does one with several businesses. Our town actually will have one at the community center put on by the events committee (that's made up of 5-6 people, so I'm not expecting much) and one of the churches a few blocks down will have one. I think that will be extent of our trick-or-treating in our town. Now, my hometown, darn right I'm hitting all classmates' houses for free candy!

Tonight we attended a Halloween Knight event at a local high school. It was fun. There were a couple hallways of trick or treating, a haunted lab, a puppet show, fortune teller, face painting and a few games. The cost was a clothing donation or nonperishable food donation. The high school kids did all of it except the puppet show.

Sounds like a lot of fun fluffysmom! This week we visited a pumpkin patch to pick up a few more pumpkins. Our foreign student carved 4 by himself. He certainly is talented and had so much fun with it! For those that remember my question about whether to allow him to go trick-or-treating, we decided to compromise. I spoke with almost 40 neighbors and no one had a problem with it. Tomorrow night, he will go with my daughter to all of the houses on our street and then hand out candy the rest of the evening. We also arranged for him to go to a haunted house event last weekend which he really enjoyed.

Happy Halloween!
I'm glad you found a compromise @dukeblue. I hope your exchange student has a fun Halloween.
I'm going to both of the girl's schools this afternoon to help with the parties.

8pm - no trick or treaters yet. I think those mini Hershey bars are all mine!

Well, it's just after 8:00 and I've only had a handful of trick or treaters. Guess I've got lots of candy to eat.

We had lots of trick or treaters this year. I should have bought more candy. Gave out 35 pieces, then had to shut the light. We don't usually get this many. Dang. No leftover candy.

We went to the mall to trick or treat. We were interviewed for the local news. Then we went to the church where Sami attended preschool. They have a big Halloween celebration. There are lots of games, a giant inflatable slide, a haunted maze and they serve supper.
The girls trick or treated at 2 houses in our neighborhood. It was 40 degrees and they preferred to do the indoor activities.
I hope everyone had a fun Halloween.

It was cold and raining all day(and evening), but we still had over 150 trick-or-treaters come to our door this evening. The kids were out for about an hour and came home wanting hot chocolate while they sorted their goodies. On a sour note, we are expecting snow overnight

I second that yuck to the snow. We have a freeze warning tonight. I'm not ready for real fall and winter weather.
We carved pumpkins last night. Class party at school but we skipped our town's trick or treat. We'll head to my hometown tomorrow night for that. So we stayed home, played games, watched The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, and watched sang and danced to Halloween songs.
