My kids like almost all candy except Mounds and Almond Joy. They don't like Mounds and Almond Joy??? But but but ... it's coconut! I'm the only coconut fan in my house.

My kids always preferred the little bags of chips.
I gave in and purchased a few outdoor Halloween decorations this past weekend. We also picked up 3 big pumpkins to carve later.
Does everyone else do pumpkin carving?

We used to carve pumpkins but they don't last because it's too hot here. The pumpkin face caves in within a couple days.

Yes, carved pumpkins and warm climate do not mix well. We keep them outside in the colder temperatures and carve them 2 or 3 days before Halloween.
We usually seek out the "Giant" ones that are heaviest and have the most lines to ensure more pumpkin seeds. We boil the seeds in salt water and then roast them in olive oil. Yummy!!

I'm gonna carve pumpkins with my parents. Then, I'm going to hand out candy on the actual night. I'll be dressing up as Mr. Gold from Once Upon a Time.

Has everyone got their candy and costumes lined up? I've got two kinds of chocolate candy that we'll be handing out. I hope we get a nice amount of trick or treaters. Ron and I sometimes sit outside on the porch to hand it out as long as it's not too hot (mosquito weather) or too cold.

We don't usually get any trick or treaters but I buy a bag of my favorite candy just in case.

My costume arrived yesterday. My niece decided I will be Anna to her Elsa from Frozen. I haven't seen the movie so I had to go do some research for the costume. Given the immense popularity of Frozen, I was surprised that the only adult costumes I could find were for Elsa. Thankfully there was one single website that had an Anna dress. But I had to buy a kid's Anna wig.

We aren't home to hand out candy. I like to buy Halloween candy on clearance.
The costumes are ready. Tomorrow evening we are going to the high school for a Halloween celebration.

We won't have the big party at Hubby's work. They downsized this year to just a drive-up-hand-the-kids-bags-of-candy-and-leave kind of event instead of the renting the fairgrounds building and having a catered dinner and bounce houses. So, we'll do that, come bag and hit our town's trunk-or-treat event. Then the next night, my hometown is having their Halloween hours (postponed a night because Friday and high school football games), so we'll go there at least to my parents' house. We'll probably carve our pumpkins tomorrow or Friday afternoon. We're late this year on it; we usually do ours about a week before.
We don't get trick-or-treaters being outside of town and all, but I do buy a bag of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups just in case....and those are my favorite.

Ooh Fluffy, I want to see pictures of the pumpkins. So, we'll do that, come bag and hit our town's trunk-or-treat event. I only just heard of trunk or treat for the first time ever yesterday!
