Chapter 37

ANNE'S HOUSE
Teresa was sitting on the bed. Anne walked in with a tray of food.
ANNE: Brought you something, in case you feel ready to eat.
TERESA: Thanks.
Teresa picked up a piece of toast and nibbled on it. Anne sat down next to Teresa.
ANNE: Well, you made it through the weekend. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Teresa nodded.
ANNE: How bad is it now?
TERESA: My back still hurts. I haven't slept well. Even though I'm under all these blankets, I'm cold. More than anything, I just want this to end.
ANNE: I know, kid. And it will. It just takes time.
TERESA: I just feel horrible about...about everything.
Anne opened her arms.
ANNE: Come here.
Teresa leaned in and Anne wrapped her arms around her.

EVE'S APARTMENT
Paige and J.J. sat on the couch.
J.J.: How's it feel to be out of the hospital?
PAIGE: Good. I just wish I could remember everything.
J.J.: You will.

APARTMENT STAIRWELL - FLASHBACK
MARY BETH: Paige, come on! I wanna talk!
PAIGE: There's nothing to talk about. You've already made your feelings about J.J. abundantly clear, and you obviously think I'm an idiot for liking J.J.
When they got to the stairwell, Paige went down the first step, but Mary Beth grabbed her hand.
PAIGE: Let go of me!
MARY BETH: No!
PAIGE: Mary Beth, I said let go of me!
MARY BETH: Not until you stop and talk to me, Paige!
Paige struggled to get out of Mary Beth's grip.
PAIGE: I said let go!
Paige pulled hard. The force of her pull was so hard that it not only let go of Mary Beth, but sent her falling forward, tumbling down the stairs.

EVE'S APARTMENT
Paige sat there in shock.
J.J.: Hey, you okay?
When she didn't answer, J.J. grew concerned.
J.J.: Paige? Paige, what is it? What's wrong?
Paige snapped out of it.
PAIGE: What?
J.J.: Are you okay? What's wrong?
PAIGE: I think I just remembered why I was in the hospital.

I'm glad Anne is helping Teresa through her withdrawal.

Looks like Paige is getting her memory back.

Chapter 38

BRADY PUB
It was now a day or two later. Kayla and Kimberly had been joined by Eve.
KAYLA: So, it was bullying that caused all of this?
KIMBERLY: Well, not entirely all of it.
EVE: What else was there?
KIMBERLY: Well, as you both know, she and Shane used to be close. But, as Shane's missions got more frequent, they had less time to spend together. They drifted apart. And, unfortunately, the nail in the coffin came the same day that that horrible girl at school told her Shane didn't love her.

DONOVAN HOUSE - FLASHBACK
Kimberly was on the phone.
KIMBERLY: It's worse than it was last year.
Pause.
KIMBERLY: Well, then, come home.
Pause.
KIMBERLY: Shane, how long is this mission gonna take?
Pause.
KIMBERLY: I know it's important, and I love that you're one of the ISA's top agents, but Jeannie needs both of us right now.
Pause.
KIMBERLY: When will that be?
Pause. The door a few rooms down opened.
KIMBERLY: Honestly, Shane? No, It's not. Sometimes I wonder if you care about us at all.
Pause.
KIMBERLY: Shane...Shane Donovan, don't you dare hang up on me!
Pause. Kimberly hung up the phone. Unknown to her, the door that had opened was Jeannie coming home. She had heard the last minute of the conversation, and it was all too much. Jeannie ran to her room, threw her bag on the floor, laid on her bed, and cried.

KIMBERLY: I should've handled it better.
EVE: You were mad. I would've been mad, too,
KIMBERLY: I knew the nature of Shane's work. I had for a long time.
KAYLA: Everyone has moments where they say things they regret.
KIMBERLY: Anyway, that's when the change in her started. Either of you have any idea where she is?
Kayla shook her head.
EVE: Nope. Anyway, where's Dad? I thought he'd be here.
KIMBERLY: He'll be here. He's out trying to find your sister.

DIMERA MANSION
Stan was sitting at a computer. Chad walked up.
CHAD: It's weird having André and Stefano together.
Stan nodded.
CHAD: I'd heard legends, but never seen him in the flesh until the other night. Is he really as bad as everyone says?
STAN: No, he's worse. Together, André and Stefano are practically unstoppable.
CHAD: Gotcha. So, what're you doing?
STAN: Check it out.
Stan was uploading the second video of E.J. and Abby sleeping together to Abby's profile.
CHAD: Nice!
Stan then shared the video with everyone on Abby's friends list.
CHAD: How did you hack in to Abby's Facebook?
STAN: It was easy. Her e-mail's [e-mail] and her password is 123456
CHAD: Cool! I'm gonna have some fun with this!
Chad went for the mouse. Stan slapped his hand away.
STAN: Easy there, tiger.

I'm glad Kimberly, Kayla and Eve are together trying to help Teresa.

Chad is enjoying Stan tormenting Abby.

Chapter 39

EVE'S APARTMENT
PAIGE: I was arguing with some girl. She was saying some really rude things about you. I was about to go downstairs, but she grabbed my arm and tried to make me stay.
J.J.: That must have been Mary Beth that you were arguing with.
PAIGE: Who?
J.J.: Mary Beth. She's a girl that went to the same school as you. She claims that you're her best friend, but she spends most of her time making snide remarks about me.
PAIGE: Why would she do that?
J.J.: Because she doesn't like me. I have a past that I'm not too thrilled about. I told you about it, somehow she found out, and she hates me.
PAIGE: Well, that's stupid. She doesn't even know you. Not the real you. I remember you telling me about your past. I remember everything about us.
J.J.: Everything?
PAIGE: Everything.
J.J.: Including that we were broken up at the time you got hurt?
PAIGE: Yeah. But, it was over something really stupid. I should have believed you.
J.J.: So, what don't you remember?
PAIGE: Most other stuff about the last nine months. Like when my mom came here and why, and who Mary Beth is.
J.J.: Well, I'll try to help you with that to the best of my ability.
PAIGE: Thanks. I'd like that.

ANNE'S HOUSE
ANNE: So, that's what started most of this?
Teresa had been telling Anne about the same events which Kimberly had described for Kayla and Eve.
TERESA: Mostly. That's why I started with weed and graduated to harder stuff. The heroin was because I wanted a stronger high, and because of the stuff with Brady.
ANNE: I see.
TERESA: Thank you, Anne. I don't think I would have been able to stop if you hadn't helped me.
ANNE: No problem. I care about you, kid.
TERESA: Thanks.
Anne and Teresa hugged.
ANNE: Feel up to going for a walk? It'll take your mind off things.
TERESA: Sure. That sounds good. I just need to get changed, first.

I'm glad that Teresa told Anne about her childhood.

Looks like Paige may be blocking out part of her memory.

Chapter 40

DIMERA MANSION
STAN: Easy there, tiger. This is my thing.
CHAD: Your thing? I'm sorry, did you forget who got you that manly figure again?
STAN: I appreciate what you've done, but torturing Abby Deveraux is part of my grand plan.
CHAD: Look, I'm upset with her, as well. I think I should be allowed at least a little bit of revenge.
STAN: That's up to you. But, you're not taking my idea.
Chad picked up the keyboard. Stan grabbed the other side of it.
STAN: Really, Chad? Really? It's come to this?
CHAD: I have just as much right to torture Abby as you do.
STAN: Yeah, I don't think so.
Just then, André walked in.
ANDRÉ: Children, children, play nicely.
Both dropped the keyboard.

KIMBERLY: So, while I'm here, I'd also like to see my granddaughter.
EVE: Okay. Come on over to the apartment sometime.
KIMBERLY: How is she?
EVE: Well, apart from the accident, which I'm sure dad or Kayla here told you about, she's fine.
KIMBERLY: Good.
The door opened. Teresa and Anne walked in. Teresa stoped when she saw Kimberly, Kayla and Eve.
ANNE (whispering): You okay?
Teresa nodded, but her face did not appear to agree.
ANNE (whispering): We could go someplace else, if you want.
TERESA (whispering): No, it's fine. I knew I'd have to see them at some point.
Teresa walked in the direction of the table. Eve, who had seen them when they walked in, subtley jestured for Kimberly to look up. When she saw Teresa, she stood.
KIMBERLY: Jeannie.
TERESA: Mom.
Teresa began to feel awkward and wasn't quite sure what to say.
KIMBERLY: How are you?
Teresa hesitated.
TERESA: Okay.
Of course, Kimberly could see that she wasn't. She opened her arms and wrapped them around her daughter, who began to cry.

COUNTESS W
Kate was filling out some paperwork in her office. There was a knock at the door.
KATE: Come in.
The door opened and before Kate stood Jordan with an ax.
JORDAN: Hello, Kate.

I just hope Theresa's family can help her somehow.

Uh oh, Kate's in big trouble!

I hope Kimberly can help Teresa.

I don't know if Kate can escape Jordan a second time.

Chapter 41

DIMERA MANSION
STAN: André.
ANDRÉ: I don't care about whatever excuse you have. Just play nicely. I'm sure Stefano would just be heartbroken if one of you had an...accident. Wouldn't he?
CHAD: Is he serious?
STAN: Ooh, he is. Moreso than you'd ever believe.
ANDRÉ: You could say that I'm...deadly serious.
André chuckled.
STAN: Well, it's all good, André. We're good.
ANDRÉ: I should hope so. As I said, it would be a shame were something to happen to one of you.
André walked up the stairs and into Stefano's room.
ANDRÉ: Stefano.
STEFANO:André, my boy. Come. Come in.
André walked over to Stefano.
STEFANO: So, tell me, how is Rolf proceeding with Elvis?
ANDRÉ: He shall be done in a matter of days.
STEFANO: Excellent. Excellent.
ANDRÉ: However, we have another matter to attend to.
STEFANO: I see. And what would that be? Do tell.
ANDRÉ: It concerns your youngest son, and the woman, who is now a man, whom Elvis used to love.

COUNTESS W
KATE: Jordan.
JORDAN: It's Tammy Sue now.
KATE: Whichever.
Jordan gave Kate what she thought was a glare. Really, she had just squinted her eyes.
JORDAN: I assume you know why I'm here.
KATE: Of course. You're here to kill me, just like you killed Clyde.
JORDAN: You know about that?
KATE: Mm-hmm. I know a great many things you wouldn't expect.
JORDAN: Like what?
KATE: Well, for example: I know that the king of hearts is the only king with no mustache in a standard deck of playing cards. I know that the Nobel Peace Prize medal depicts three naked men with their hands on each other's shoulders. I know that the Mint at one time considered creating coins in the shape of doughnuts. And I know that you won't kill me.
JORDAN: And why is that?
KATE: Because your mission is done.

Chad and Stan better behave.

I wonder if Kate is right about Jordan's mission. I liked all of Kate's random knowledge.

It appears that Kate has the upper hand! Sure hope Teresa gets the help she needs!

Chapter 42

DIMERA MANSION
STEFANO: Chad and Stanmantha? What have they got to do with anything? Aside from that Chad is part of the plan.
ANDRE: That's exactly my point.
STEFANO: Well, please, make things clearer.
ANDRE: Chad is part of the plan, as am I, Elvis, and the twins. Sami...I mean Stan, however, is not.
Stefano chuckles.
ANDRE: What's so funny?
STEFANO: It's just the idea of Stanmantha not being a part of the plan.
ANDRE: Explain, please.
STEFANO: Come now, André. You of all people should know by now that there is never a time when I don't have a plan for somebody. This entire ordeal has been my plan all along.
ANDRE: Why didn't you tell me?
STEFANO: I never reveal my full plan until the time is right.
ANDRE: Well, now that Elvis is about to become your perfect DiMera soldier, I think that the time has never been more right.
Stefano chuckled.
STEFANO: Indeed. Indeed, it is. Come. Sit.
Stefano patted a chair next to his bed. André sat down.
STEFANO: Now, I knew that, with the way their personalities were, Samantha and Elvis could never truly be in love. So, enter the beautiful young Abigail Deveraux who catches Elvis' eye.
Stefano claps his hands together.
STEFANO: Perfecto. Samantha gets angry. She seeks revenge. She is truly becoming a DiMera. She tries to find new was to torture Abigail, until she finally comes up with the idea of reverting back to the guise of Stanmantha. She has Chad use my men to turn her back into Stanmantha and brings the twins to us. The twins bring Elvis to us. We reprogram all three of them and the real fun begins.
ANDRE: Yes, I understand all that. But, what comes next, Stefano?
STEFANO: Ah, now that. That is the best part.

COUNTESS W
KATE: Your mission is done.
JORDAN: What do you mean?
KATE: I mean exactly what I said. You have no reason or need to kill me because your mission is done.
JORDAN: And just what exactly do you think my mission is?
KATE: To kill Clyde, of course. That's why you've created this alternate personality of Tammy Sue. Jordan wasn't able to kill her because she's too soft. But you, Tammy Sue, you're the Butcher Lady of Poplar Bluff. You could easily kill Clyde. And, finally, you did.
JORDAN: Wrong.
KATE: What?
JORDAN: Killing Clyde was only part of my mission. My real mission is to kill anybody who has ever hurt me or knows the truth about Clyde. And that, Katie, includes you.
