Mel got off way too easily...LOL I'm also glad it was settled maturely, though if Chloe had been there, I'd have brought my popcorn. I completely agree Trey!

Soon Mrs M, soon.
I struggled with the way to write the post-Phloe-reunion scene between Philip and Melanie. Philip has a soft spot for Melanie and he feels guilty about what he did to her, so I think it would be out-of-character for him to be mean to her. I also figure that being Philipless is the worst kind of punishment that Melanie (or anyone) can endure.

It had to have been really awkward to have that conversation with Phillip shirtless....

That may have been part of Chloe's concern too Mrs M! Knowing that she will never be with Philip again is a huge punishment for Melanie!

Thanks for the chapter Kpatch. Loved that Mel acted like an adult. (You know how I love my girl Mel) I think she and Philip handled it with class. Hope it stays that way.

I sure didn't feel bad for Melanie. The darn cow deserved it if you ask me. Anyone to be so heartless to do something like that to a woman who just lost her husband and her child. Bleh. Thanks for two more great chapters jkjpatch! I cannot wait for more! Specially Thursday's installment!!

SALEM INN, ROOM 1202 Wesley is asleep in a hotel crib, and Chloe is lying on the bed in a bathrobe, sitting up and reading when Philip returns. Chloe: The realtor called. She gave me the name of a contractor for the fireproofing. She also said that our offer was accepted. The house is ours. Philip smiles as he takes off his shoes and his tie. He sits up on the bed next to Chloe. Philip: That’s good news. Chloe: It’ll be nice to live in our own home again. And get Wesley back on a regular sleep schedule. Philip: Wherever you and Wes are … that’s my home. Chloe: Even a cardboard box? Philip: Even a cardboard box. Philip leans over and kisses Chloe. Philip: You smell like coconuts. Chloe: I took a shower. Salem Inn body wash. Like it? He leans over again and sniffs her neck. Philip: Mmmm. I do. We’ll have to buy a case of it. Chloe smiles but her mood suddenly turns serious. Chloe: How did things go with Melanie? Philip [sighing]: It was tough. Chloe: Because you still love her. Philip: Chloe. ... Look at me sweetie. Don’t be jealous. I could never love anyone else the way I love you. Chloe: So did you end it? Philip: I didn’t have to. She took one look at me and she knew.
Philip gets a faraway look. Chloe: You’re feeling guilty, aren’t you? You have nothing to feel guilty for. Philip: Oh really? I hurt her. Again. Chloe: She brought it on herself. Philip: You have no sympathy for her? Chloe: Not really. She took advantage of the situation. She got what she deserved. Philip: You’re one tough cookie. Chloe: Is that a compliment or an insult? Philip: Um … You know what being here in this hotel room reminds me of? Chloe: I can’t believe you just changed the subject like that. Philip: It reminds me of the time we stayed at the Marriott in Cleveland. Chloe: When we were waiting for Wesley’s paternity test results. Philip: Remember what happened that night? Between us, I mean? Chloe: Of course I remember. It’s the night we got back together for good. That was the … Philip and Chloe finish the sentence in unison. Philip: ...Hottest sex I ever had. Chloe: ...Most romantic night of my life. ... What did you just say? Philip: I said it was the hottest sex I ever had, well, up to that point in time. Chloe [pretending to be mad]: Men! Philip leans closer to Chloe and speaks softly. Philip: I’m up for a repeat performance. How about you, Opera Girl? To be continued. Tune in tomorrow and Friday for some steamy love scenes Rated M for Mature audiences ...

Thanks for the chapter. Good to see that Philip did not say that he does not love Mel only that he could not love anyone the way he loves Chloe.
